  Windows mail was working fine until about 2: 30 EST 2011-12-14 and tried to send an email and got the above error msg.

  Check with your mail service provider to make sure that there is not an intermittent interruption of service.  If you have webmail capabilities, you can also check.  Otherwise, compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and if that doesn't help, remove your e-mail account, close and reopen WinMail and then add it back back.  Also check 3rd party program interference such as antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).

  Usually, but not necessarily always, this problem has to do with your Intrenet Explorer or your main browser with NOT all its faults.

  Open start > default programs > set your default programs > column on the left, click on Internet Explorer or your main browser...

  I suggest you to make sure that Internet Explorer is configured as web browser by default. Take a look at the following links:

  Welcome to the Microsoft community. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing. This problem arises usually when you use incorrect settings to configure the account.

  I recommend you to choose the "other account" option when you configure the e-mail account on the Mail App. You will need the settings server incoming and outgoing provided by the e-mail provider.

  For some reason any password I used to access my Outlook account hosted on the web and to 8.1 Windows on my laptop just stopped working (Outlook is declare my password is invalid while entering the same password on my laptop give the message ' your PC is offline connection.   Because I put audit of phase two (apparently), even if I can pass the first step (before a code sent in a text to my registration number) I no longer use the e-mail address to which the second code is sent which means I can't reset my password. I can't find a way around this requirement and would like to have a solution.

  I'm the only user two Outlook account and laptop so think of interference of third unlikely.

  Use the reset password page.  It will be SMS you a code to prove your identity, then you can choose a new desired password.

  After choosing a new password, you will NOT be able to use it to unlock your computer.  As indicated, your computer has no internet connection, so you should use "the last password" (your one more old) to unlock the computer.  If you do not remember what was the old password, you can reset it in SafeMode in this way.

  This is a known issue with 9.3 and unfortunately, there is no known solution yet. Apple knows about it, but no idea when will a fix.

  You can temporarily disable the antivirus software, and then try to install programs, and also try to open .exe files to check if that helps.
