My system won't open any link in a program to the internet, but rather opens the 'link' in windows 2010 as a word program. I need to repair this urgent problem.
Example: When I click on go to update or verify the update I get a word version of the Web page. He did not go to my browser and connect to the internet, as it has before. I seem to have damaged Windows 7 in a certain way and need to fix it, preferably without wiping the entire system by doing a restore or recovery.
Thanks to you all.

I tried all the remedies suggested for this problem and nothing seems to work. Flash is up to date and cookies turned on, cleared, started Firefox in safe mode and reset Firefox. The problem also seems to occur in Chrome as well.
Problem solved! I downloaded and installed Firefox 24.0 Beta. Apparently Mozilla team programming carried out all the changes right in the new version. Now all the videos from Yahoo and BBC working.

I've updated a computer in a Family History Library, where I work voluntarily as a librarian. I clean installed a Windows 7 Pro Enterprise Version OS. A few days earlier and starting to run Windows Update in order to set the computer up to be ready for the configuration of the software and customer communication, I found that although I am registered as an administrator, I was unable to run updates manually or change update settings. Automatic update seems to work OK, however.
Could someone tell me if there is a way simple routine of manually popularising the Windows updates?
Is it a case of local policy permissions?
My thanks, DaveJB.

Press win + r > Type lusrmgr.msc and press enter

my system won't let me do a restore
my system won't let me do a restore
As the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system. Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)? System Restore is not a time machine.Describe exactly what happens when you try to perform a system restore and the error messages you see which indicates that it does not work.
Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly. For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore. Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore. It works for some configurations.System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore. This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore. You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore. That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware. It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary. No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/It can be uninstalled later if you wish. The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues. -
I have about 30 PDF documents attached to my main document. When I click on links, the attached document takes up the entire screen. I want it opens in a new window when I click on it, how do I do this?
Yes, it is possible. Right click on the link using the Add or change the link, and then select Properties.
Go to the Actions and change the link "Go to a page in another document" action
Under "Target Document", you will see an option called "open in". Define as 'New window' and press OK.
You'll have to make it a link both, unfortunately, unless you use a tool to set all links at the same time to behave this way.

Hello
Here's how to reinstall Vista as you no longer have a recovery partition.
This can help you (download files and make your own DVDs):
http://www.heidoc.NET/Joomla/technology-science/Microsoft/57-Windows-Vista-direct-download-links
And here are instructions on how to burn ISO disk images:
http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/isorecorder.html
The download links and information on how to make the ISO file, and then create the Setup DVD above are at this link:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do it for a small fee

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

See you soon.

Open in a new tab and open in a new window have been inverted, how to restore?
I was pleased to see that I have connected today that Firefox has a update is ready. I was even more excited when I heard that the browser itself has been updated. And while all these new and exciting things make a surprising choice for a Firefox browser, im at my wits end on this little change which is annoying the hell out of me.
Apparently between 3.6 and the new Firefox, when you right click on a link, you will see open in a new window to the place where has been opened in a new tab. This may not seem like a big deal, but a person who has been opening the windows to tabs for the tabbed browsing came out, I hate having multiple windows open.
When I right click on a link, its an automatic reflex for me to open it in a new tab, but now I can't. Whenever I end up opening a window instead. Y at - it an easy solution to this little problem that drives me crazy?
You can use the editor to Add Menu on to change the order of menu items - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/menu-editor

Original title: frustrating popup.
Help! I get the following popup:
A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer. This program does not have a valid signature that verifies its publisher
C:|Windows/System32\Macromed\Flash/FlashUtil_ActiveX.exe
Why I get this and how can I get rid of him? It won't go away if I answered 'yes' or 'no' it just keeps popping up.
Windows 8 is built with Adobe Flash Player. If you have problems to view Flash content online, run Windows Update and check if there are updates available for Flash.
You can also try the following:
Click Start, type: Internet Options
Press enter
Select the "Advanced" tab
Under reset Internet Explorer settings, click "reset".
This should restore the Internet Explorer default settings.
Or try another browser like Google Chrome.

If you prefer to keep both or just IE7 is your call.
In any case, if you use IE7, you must make sure that it has all its flaws.
Star button > Default Programs > set your default programs > click on Internet Explore. He said "this program has all its defaults"?
If not, click Choose defaults for this program > check on all the entries in the list > click on save when finished.t-4-2

Anyway is to restart my computer to its original settings, it was when I bought it?
Hello
In the two next messages are methods to further check for malware that should be (and I mean
which) and methods to protect the system.Check with your system manufacturer support, their drivers and documentation online and ask for their
Forums (if any). The system can be restored to the rear out of the box state that eliminates course
all programs and data so data first. Each manufacturer has its own methods, although it is
usually not a complx process.=============================================================================
Try this first:
To run a program use start - search and type the name of the program such as iexplore.exe
to run Internet Explorer - Explore.exe runs Windows Explorer - you may need to use the path to
those - If yes type the full path and name in the search box.InterNet Explorer
C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exeWindows Explorer
C:\Windows\explorer.exeYou can use Windows Explorer to access any program and double-click it to run until you get
This problem is corrected.--------------------------------------------------------
To restore the ability to run any .exe programs.
