  • Internet/DNS problems in a NAT Windows Server guest domain

Guys, I'm sorry if someone posted a similar question before, but I couldn't find everything concerning my problem using the tool of research or surfinf nets.

I have a domain controller Windows Server 2008 R2 running in a Vmware Workstation 7.1.6 / Windows 7 Enterprise x 64. I use the NAT option for the network, because I need to use this virtual machine to several different networks and a domain controller needs a fixed IP address. The DNS is correctly configured to forward and reverse and the nslookup returns the IP address and the host name of the guest.

The problem is that I can't connect to Internet in Virtual Machine, if I configure a fixed IP address (I am disabling the DHCP of VMware service at the moment). If I change in dynamics and start the VMware DHCP service, I don't have any problems.

I looked at the gateway, the DNS and the mask subnet values provided by the ipconfig/all command when the server uses a dynamic address and the server if setuped values of static. It did not work.

Anyone have a tip for this desperate man?

Because the domain controller is also running the DNS server, I guess that DNS serer entries in the client IP settings point to the guest himself!

If you are able to ping to Internet addresses by its IP address, you may need to configure the DNS server on the domain controller to transfer DNS queries for other areas to the (usually 192.168.xxx.2) NAT gateway for proper name resolution.

  • Using a Vista laptop, connects to the internet, but will not load page. DNS problem.

    Hello.

I use a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

I just have a modem and use a router. I have a network cable (cat 5) connected to my laptop and the modem. I have log-on internet and it connects. But when I open Google Chrome, IE9 or Firefox I can not load a web page. Google mentions something about the DNS cannot be found and DNS_Probe_Finished_No Internet.Frefox says server not found.

I click on the Menu start - Connect To - I am logged in. I already typed my password in the command prompt and appropriate the pppoe connection/address (I use ADSL).

I talked to my ISP and we tried to do certain things. But nothing works. On their end, it shows that I am connected. But I can't browse the internet. We tried to have the DNS and IP address for ipv4 set to obtain automatically and I put 2 numbers of DNS in manually once the settings have been changed to the favorite servers and DNS auxiliary, or worked.

Using command prompt, the DNS has been emptied. It did not help. The modem has been reset the ISP location. I also recreated and set up a new network connection.

My office is using the same pppoe information. I can freely browse the internet and I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I was also shown to be connected simultaneously with both machines, but that the Office can go.

I do not have Windows Update the laptop since on April 2016. It has not been used and the battery was empty. I tried to turn off the laptop several times, but nothing works.

Y at - it suggestions to solve this problem? At that time perhaps a re - install will work.

System Restore worked. I will run the updates and see what happens.

I think it was a program that I uninstalled in programs and features.

    Hello
I have recently had problems with my internet connection and therefore cannot get on the internet at my place when it used very well. I have a wired connection usually, but tried to install a router but now even the wired connection doesn't work and I get the message "Cannot communicate with the first DNS Server (169.126.63.1)" I tried many things and even reformatted my hard drive, do a reinstall system, different setting reset and still it does not work. Hope someone can help me in this situation. Thanks to a bouquet.

    Here is my information

    Hello

    1. have you done any software or hardware changes to your computer recently?

To work with this issue, I would say that you try the methods below to resolve this issue.

    Method 1:

    The problems of Internet connection

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-Internet-connection-problems

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Let us reset TCP/IP and check.

To reset TCP/IP stack to go to this article and follow the instructions.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/299357

    Step 2.

1 connect to your router (by typing 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in the address bar) and connect. Check your user manual or documentation if you don't know the references of logon.
    2. make sure that you are in the installation - basic configurationcategory.
    3. scroll down until you see "DHCP Server"- if it is disabled, select 'Enable'.
    4. enable DHCPif you want, you can change the number that starts the DHCP IP setting. (This is optional)
    5. use the DNS servers provided by your ISP. There are many DNS servers out there. It is preferable to use your ISP if possible.
    6. scroll and click ' Save Settings '.

    Step 3.

    1. click Startand then clickControl Panel.
    2. go in network and sharing Centerand then click onchange adapter settings.

  • cannot log in to Firefox v. 12, but with c. 11 can connect

I've recently updated for Firefox c. 12, and I can no longer connect to our Web site. I went through all the steps of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Cannot%20log%20in%20to%20websites?e=es & as = aaq
but in vain. Still cannot connect. He had no problem with the previous version of Firefox. The server log indicates only that an attempt to open a session was made, but not completed. There are no errors.

I modified the code of our /modules/basex/ext-basex.js after the suggestion of one of the Mozilla developers who worked on the bug I posted.

    Source file: http://hudesktopdevel.hucompute.org/modules/basex/ext-basex.js
    Online: 1010
    > ('timeout' r) & & (r.timeout = callback.timeout);
    It should be something like:
    options. Async & & (r 'timeout') & & (r.timeout = callback.timeout);

This solved our problem! Connection now works 12 Firefox, and he continues to work in other browsers. Perhaps, this can be the suggested fix for Extjs 3 users who have problems connecting with Firefox 12.

  • Airport Extreme and Cox Internet IPv6 problem

This is one notification to others as well as a question:

I have Cox Cable high speed Internet in several places using an Airport Extreme 3 GB connected as a router to the modem cable Cox.

For more than a week, we would find regularly in the morning that the outside connection to internet DNS servers were lost.  We called Cox several times and they have done the usual reset of the router and the modem and things seem to work for some time.  But the next day again.

They came out and replaced the connections, I I had to buy a new cable modem and I replaced a digital switch.  Every time things seem to work for some time.

I thought to replace the Airport Extreme (I read others did in a similar situation without result).

After much frustration, I started looking for Airport Extreme and DNS and found similar stories.

After that several unproductive calls with Cox Internet of first level support, I finally reached a level which acknowledged that Cox was the IPv6 deployment and he was having a problem with Airport Extreme routers.  They said Apple was working on it and gave me a number to call for support from router from apple.  Unfortunately the number they gave was no longer valid.

I persisted and finally got the Apple support and indeed they knew the problem and said Cox was working on that... But there was a temporary problem - and that was to disable iPv6 on the airport extreme (more precisely (internet > Internet Options > configure Ipv6: link-Local only).)

For now it seems to have stopped the decline during the night which seems to happen between 12:00 and 02:00.  By experience, I do not think that its really a problem of compaibility IPV6, but how the router meets some kind of rebate to zero/test signal signal service is done in early morning.

So the question is - does anyone know with certainty what happens or who really works on this.  From my point of view, both sides think it's the other problem.  BTW - I've read about other people with Non Apple routers running after something similar.

    GABarber,

I also had a similar problem.  Prior service of Cox Communications in Phoenix AZ has been rescinded and recently restored (March 1) yesterday afternoon.  After the departure of the technician, the wi - fi failed to produce a valid connection, citing DNS error and no response from the server.  We have a new modem, CISCO, at an Air Port/Time Capsule 2 TB ethernet cable.

After talking with support for level 2 level 1 and then Cox, there was sufficient evidence for a correct signal via the modem, but the Port of the Air was not picking up or he issued (by Cox).  Check my Air Port Utility apps on iMac and iPhone shows a signal Internet or Air Port casual, but never the two together.  The modem and the Air Port so would show appropriate green led lights up, but in vain to work wi - fi.

The only thing that has worked so far is your solution listed above: Air Port utility > Internet > Internet Options > configure Ipv6: link-Local only.

    Thank you, GABarber.

    Hi KERRYYX,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. What is the full error message that you receive?
    5. Are you able to restart and shut down the computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

When you start windows, before the XP loading screen is displayed, press F8, and then select Safe mode.  See if you start a computer desktop, if it isn't you can run chkdsk /f in command prompt.

If you cannot start in safe mode, you will need to reinstall (or try a repair installation) and Yes, you will lose this data, although there is a way to back it up.  You will need to download ubuntu and burn it on a cd and backup to external media.

  • WAG-120N and static ip - wireless and wired clients cannot connect to the internet

    Greetings,

I use the N WAG-120 AP and switch for 3 computers laptops and 2 Office. Our Department is assigned only a what IP static of our server, as well as a pc can connect to the server and the internet. I use the first lan port of the 120N Wag as a WAN port and I attribute the static IP address, and the subnet, default gateway, and DNS addresses. Connected clients receive an ip address from the DHCP (192.168.1.10x) router, but cannot connect to the internet. How can I configure my router to allow clients to connect?

    Thank you in advance!

The default LAN IP of the WAG subnet is 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 belongs to 192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0. This means that 192.168.1.0 IP addresses exist side WAN and LAN of the WAG. What makes this configuration completely cannot be routed.

Change the address LAN IP of the WAG to an IP outside the corporate network, for example using IP addresses private 172.16/12, for example to set the address LAN IP 172.16.1.1 with 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.

The alternative would be to use the WAG as a point of easy access only, and not as a router. However, due to the 255.255.0.0 subnet in your network company you will not be able to access the web interface except from an IP address corresponding to the LAN IP address subnet of the WAG. Of course, this does not affect the wireless or wireline customers connected to the WAG...
