cannot log on to Windows 7

He repeats the invalid password and yet the indicator is correct.

He repeats the invalid password and yet the indicator is correct.

* smile *.

Just because the 'indication is correct' as far as you're concerned does not mean it corresponds with the actual password or remember what represents the indicator * exactly *.  (Use a '3' instead of an 'E' or an '8' instead of a 'B' or a '0' instead of an 'o' to complicate further the password?)

At all other accounts?

When you start windows, before the XP loading screen is displayed, press F8, and then select Safe mode.  See if you start a computer desktop, if it isn't you can run chkdsk /f in command prompt.

If you cannot start in safe mode, you will need to reinstall (or try a repair installation) and Yes, you will lose this data, although there is a way to back it up.  You will need to download ubuntu and burn it on a cd and backup to external media.

When I click on it, it shows "loading your personal settings" for a second. Then he reads once 'your settings' and remains on the logon screen. Repeated for 10 times. Rebooted and repeated. Stop and repeated.

I tried begins 'Safe Mode' loading breaks then 'failed to load NTFS.dll.
"Safe mode with network" screen and even a second login of connection and return to the logon screen.

I don't know how to open a session. Can someone please. Is it possible to add to my registry keys remotely. Or a way to fix this?

Connect with the backup Administrator account that your friend should have, in the case where this has happened (or the built-in Administrator account) and change its password.

  • Cannot log on to Windows Mail or incorrect usename and password error message. I can connect on webmail.

Windows Mail will not sign to the server.  I get the pop up window to log on using the user name and password.  I type them in and get the error message.  I can use webmail and log in without any problem.  Exact error message follows:

Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR [AUTH] wrong username or password.', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

You set antivirus software to analyze mail?  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 disable any email scanner.  Remove your email account, then close WinMail.  Compact and repair the database to fix all the problems (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and then add your account to e-mail back again.  Usually, which solves the problem if you have blocked antivirus interference.

  • Cannot log on to windows by Simple way

I bought the HP ENVY 15 notebook PC in early September.  Immediately, I upgraded to 8.1 Windows.  But I was never able to use the fingerprint reader to log on Windows.  I don't know if this is a result of W8.1 because I never tried with the W8.

I visited the forums and the recommendation, I've updated transition Simple and BIOS drivers, but that has not helped.  What are my options?

    Kao228,

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

I assume you are using HP SimplePass series 8.  It comes to the version provided with the new laptops.

If you wish, you can take a look at the next Dragon Document:

    HP SimplePass update instructions

Important: You can ignore the references to series 6 HP SimplePass - in general, at least, you probably want to stick to the last series 8 HP SimplePass.  It is the supported version.

The problem you are experiencing may be nothing more than a question of 'Order of Events': SimplePass is picky about the order in which you install the drivers, reboot the system, install the program.

For example, you just need to reinstall your driver validity, restart, install the SimplePass, reboot - and Voila!  Programme of work.  There could be a little more to it - read the details and decide how you want to proceed.

If all else fails, you can try the version of the older and more robust 6 series that has existed for several years.  This old version works on most laptops more recent.  Although it is more sustained in the truest sense, it works for many people and it's pretty robust code.

Reminder: The document is not an official document from HP; the file does not contain links to the latest versions of series 6 and series 8 SimplePass programs and it does not provide a lot of information that may be useful.

  • Urgent: Cannot log on to Windows 8! "" Your PC is offline. " Please sign in with the last password used on this PC"

I use W8 for months and all of a sudden, while traveling, I can't connect to my computer. I get the error "your PC is offline.". Please sign in with the last password used on this computer. "I am sure that I use the password. I have a flash drive and another laptop (Running OS X) at my disposal. What should I do to access my laptop?
I don't have access to my local network, or any network besides.
I have not recently changed password. I can't restore or refresh because it requires the password and says that isn't true. I never installed webroot or anything of that kind.
Results in the same number safe mode.
I can't connect to my Live account with my phone just fine.
I do not have a local account.
It's ridiculous and absurd oblivion by Microsoft. I'll be away a network known for a week and have literally no access to my computer. I would like to take this opportunity to warn all users of Windows 8 to make sure that they USE LOCAL ACCOUNTS. DO NOT USE DIRECT REPRESENTS WINDOWS 8, BECAUSE IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU AND YOU CANNOT CONNECT TO A WELL-KNOWN. NETWORK, YOU WILL BE LOCKED.
I am aware that there are discussions on this topic, but I want to throw oil on the fire, so to speak, because as far as I know, there is no solution.

    * EDIT *.
The only solution is to connect to a known network. If you are not able to connect to a known network, you can not connect, simple as that. It's a big bug for sure. I repeat, change your account to a local account to avoid this problem.

So I solved this problem, but unfortunately, it was as bad as I thought. As I thought, you need to connect to a network "Known", and then try to connect. It should work. If you are not near a network known (as if I was), as far as I know, there is no solution. To avoid this, change your account to a "Local" account

My theory for the problem is the following:
When you connect using a Live account, the password is saved locally and on the network. If you are connected to a network, it verifies the password that you enter the password stored on the network. If they match, it will allow one, sign in. If you are disconnected from the network, Windows attempts to match the password online, realizes he cannot, then checks the local password. Somehow, in my case, the password locally must have been changed or deleted and so the password entered always was "Incorrect."
So yes, big problem, I'm sure the solution is quite simple, but in the meantime, use a local account to prevent this. I was stranded, and it was a huge headache and cost me many hours of work.

  • Cannot log on to Windows 7 Home Premium

Tried to fix the slowness, freezing. Disconnected, now get a message "the user profile service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

If the user profile cannot be loaded, it is a system error, no problem with Firefox. Unfortunately, if you can not connect, I don't know how you could solve this problem.

First, start in safe mode and uninstall Firefox if you feel that this is the cause. If not, also, try to use the system restore and see if it works.

  • Cannot log on to windows Xp professional

My kid put a password on my computer and I forgot what it is.   We tried for months know that she used the computer.  We are unable to access anything on the computer because she forgot the password.   It's an old computer, but it has a lot of valuable information that I can't replace.

Don't be afraid, in the worst cases, that data will be accessible by inserting the disk in another PC. Certainly, if you cannot or feel not enough confidence to do it by yourself, you will need to provide a facility that can, ideally one that you can get a recommendation for.

In the meantime, the amount of advice that this forum can give is limited by our code of conduct...

If you are using XP Home Edition, the built-in Administrator account probably doesn't have a defined password. You can start in safe mode, where this account will be selectable when connecting. It allows to connect and change the password of your normal connection.

To start in safe mode, keep hitting F8 twice a second after turning on the PC until you get the start menu where safe mode is selectable by the up/down arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

If you are using XP Professional, try to connect using the built-in Administrator account. You don't need to do it in safe mode (although you can if you wish). If your normal login screen is a display of the user symbol and hit ctrl-alt-del twice to get to login to text entry. Type administrator as the user name and try a blank password.

  • Cannot log on to Windows XP

I can no longer connect to Windows due to account restrictions.

My regular account, nor my administrator account already have passwords.

If I go to Mode without failure, I can connect on my normal account, but I don't have administrator privileges.

I can not connect to the administrator account at all.

Research, it seems to be a 'characteristic title' which was caused by a type of register number.

Anyone know if there is a way to solve this problem without restoring a default installation?
