  I would START by checking if your IE8 has all its flaws. Any time we're not able to open links in emails, the Internet Explorer problem, the majority of the time.

  Start button > Default programs > Set Your Default programs > left side, select Internet Explorer...

  I started a conversation with the support, they took control of my PC and that fixed it.  Was not fast, but they basically reset the PS preferences.  They made sure to back up all my custom templates, forms, actions, etc., before be reset and it worked.

  This indicates that you have used the MS add in as and export from Excel. The best solution is probably to print to the Adobe PDF printer to create the file. As usual, MS tends to spoil the conversion software.
