Cannot open MY online STATUS in Outlook Express

I want to leave a message of LACK OF OFFICE type, Outlook Express HELP tells me to click on "My online status" in the menu TOOLS, but I find "My online status" is grayed out.

There is no my online status in the Tools menu in Outlook Express. Are you sure that you do not mean MS Outlook? If so, help for Microsoft Office Outlook is in these forums.

  • Cannot open the attachment sent with Outlook Express

I have Windows XP.  I use my processor Works 8.  He worked for many years, suddenly it doesn't.  When I create and send a document using Outlook Express, the receiptant cannot open it.  It is the standard verbiage that works may not support, the file can be used by another application, etc. After much frustration, I find now that if the document is sent attached to Outlook Express cannot be opened from the accessory, it can be opened if the receiptant saves the attachment to its documents and open it from there (which becomes tedious).  I have now discovered that if I send the document as an attachment by using a free email program from Yahoo (Rocketmail) it can be opened from the attachment.  The problem seems to imply of Outlook Express.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • Cannot receive of JPEGs attached to Outlook Express

Running windows XP with Outlook Express 6 can't get jpeg files that are in Outlook Express.  In Outlook express under Tools/security, the option "Do not attachmenst to the opening or recording" is grayed out and cannot be reset. at present, it is checked.  How do I get it checked?

You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identities | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

    Hi ZulfikarEsmail,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

2 when was the last time it was working fine?

    3. does come with attachments that you open from outlook express?

    4. have you tried to close the attachment after the consultation?

    5. do you have security software installed on the computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • cannot locate block sender list in outlook express

I write a question on behalf of the client. Here's the problem of the customer:

I'm not able to locate my block sender list in my OUTLOOK EXPRESS email. Some of my emails do not come to me and wanted to check my block senders list, but it is empty.

Note that if an address is in the blocked senders list, the message will still arrive in deleted items.

In OE: Tools | Message rules | List of blocked senders.

If messages do not come at all, check the Message rules, especially for a rule that has remove it from the server as the action.

Please also indicate the client to send a message to one of these problematic addresses and ask them to respond with the answer option. If this message is received, the sender has the wrong address for your customer in the address book.
  • Cannot print the e-mail in Outlook Express

I can't print from Outlook. When I click on the button PRINT in the toolbar, nothing happens. I don't get down to the bottom of the window to choose my options. All other keys are working properly and get a menu drop-down (for example delete, respond, addresses, etc.). Only the PRINT button does not respond. When I go instead of the file > print header the same thing going on... nothing! When I close Outlook and go to other web pages I get normal results by using the file > print option. Another place where I am unable to get a response from the button "print" is in the help and Support Center. There is also, I have no answer when I click on the print icon! This problem started a few days when, trying to solve another problem, I had to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Silverlight. When I tried to print the instructions I was given, I was unable to. It was the beginning of the problem!

With XP, Windows images and faxes is the default viewer for photos. Create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5. Select: Images of Windows and Fax Viewer.
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.
  • Why the windows installer opens whenever I start Outlook Express?

Why is open MSI whenever I start Outlook Express, the only way to kill this process via ctrl/alt/del, when I try to stop the process also kills outlook.

Often, it's because she's trying to install the auditor spelling or similar components.  Try going to tools | Options | Spelling and uncheck the option to always check the spelling and see if that fixes it.
