Cannot play some midi files

I got some midi files that won't play in Media Player 11. They played very well until my hard drive crashed, but now that I reinstalled XP, they will not play.

Tom

Hello

Ok. Then first reading of fichiers.mid/.midi are provided by DirectX and sound card, not the player. You want to make sure that you have the latest version of DirectX and the updated drivers up-to-date for your sound card first to the top.

Here are the troubleshooting steps:

1. try to read another MIDI file to see if it is a question of a corrupted file .midi.

2. let the file plays briefly to see if you get any sound, sometimes there will be a short silence of header information at the beginning of the .midi file that will play in silence.

3. Locate the speaker icon in the tray at the bottom right in the taskbar. Make sure that the volume for MIDI/SW Synth slider is not on mute and turn it upwards.

4. set the file association in the drive. In WMP, click Tools/options. On the file types tab file/types area-clear the MIDI file checkbox. Click 'apply '. Select the MIDI file checkbox and then click on apply again. This is particularly useful to clear the error message "cannot display this page".

5.

a. Control Panel / sounds and Audio devices / properties: tab "audio". MIDI music playback

b. in the MIDI music playback area, make sure that the default device is not set to MPU-401 or external MIDI (unless you are actually carrying lunch to a keyboard or similar).

That covers a large number of options. It will most likely MIDI mute in the volume settings as is common.

  • WMP can play some mp4 files, impossible to read some, how do I solve this problem?

    I use WMP version 12.0.7600.16667.

It can play mp4 files (so must have installed the codec requirred file), but cannot be played some I downloaded from youtube.

    How can I fix it?

    Help, please.

In general, MP4 is just a file extension, and the codec used for encoding defines the format.

But as you say it is downloaded from YouTube, the issue isn't with the WMP (or any other player). If you use Internet Download Manager or YouTube Downloader or any other software, the problem occurs. This is due to changes made by YouTube in their Web site. Update the version of the software was found to solve the problem.

  • Cannot open some pdf files by clicking on them, but can open in Adobe Reader 10.1.0.

When I click directly on some PDFs that have been saved in My Documents, I get an error message: "before you proceed you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the end user license agreement."  Yet I can open these files in Adobe Acrobat, they open easily.  This only occurred with the two credit card companies registered PDF files; My PDFs of Bank and other PDF documents can be opened without first opening Adobe Acrobat.  Is there some security block, I need to cancel or?  (I am the administrator of these files.)  I did a reinstall and repair, but this did not help.  (I use Adobe Reader 10.1.0 on Windows 7)

    Hello

You can try and turn the Mode protected in Adobe Reader 10.1.0. That should solve the problem.

You can do the same in:

1 launch the player and go in Edition > Preferences.

    2. in the General category, check the corresponding chekbox to "Activate the Safe_mode at startup"

    3. click Ok and close the player. This should allow to open a PDF file with no problems.

    Thank you

  • Cannot add some JPEG files to the library (randomly)?

    Hello

I just started using Lightroom, and I began by importing all the old/previous/existing images (same old in JPEG format). However, some of them will not add to the library. Lightroom just tells me something went wrong when you add it, but I can see perfectly in Windows Picture Viewer and Photoshop.

Can it be a problem with corrupted metadata? What can I do to fix these images?

If anyone need to watch one of these photos of issues, I can email you one.

    Thanks in advance! / Jonas

Thus, if the PS open is very good, so I would save them as a new file.  Most likely, there are some corrupt headers that PS is a ignorant, but saving of PS in a new file will recreate the headers, and you'll proabably be able to import them.  At least, it's worth a try.  And you could lots with PS, isn't a lot of hassle if necessary.

Hi player I have in my car will not play some music files on a flash drive, the files are wma and are compatible with the player, he plays some wma files, can anyone help please.

It could be a variety of reasons. If able to read certain files WMA but not others, it could be a bit rate or file corrupt or many other reasons. Some car stereos are limited to a certain bit rate (320 Kbps). Everything depends on your Hi-Fi and WMA files are coded as, among other factors.
