Cannot read Blu - ray discs using a DVD Toshiba or Corel WinDVD player

We just bought a blu - ray disc and tried to play on the laptop with two programs that have been pre-installed on the computer.

Drive DVD Toshiba says "this player does not support playback of the DVD" O.o

And Corel WinDVD says "WinDVD information service is not yet ready. "Please try again later".

I've updated the Win DVD player and he always made the same mistake.

Drive works in our other blu - ray player.

How can I fix?

Can you please tell us which model of laptop you have exactly (the complete model name)?

I have a Pavilion m9060n Vista desktop computer. Running HDMI on a monitor Samsung. It is used to play Blu Rays on the rare times where I tried it, now, it won't. I went through the procedure of updating through Cyberlink and now I'm stuck with this:

"Do you want to activate your reader now" flashes on the display and the program stops. This happens on multiple disks.

I reinstalled the DVD playback software, run the Cyberlink BD & 3D Advisor and it passes. I tried to read a comic that I ripped to my hard drive, video playback, but there is no sound, probably due to the fact that he is no longer a healthy option HMDI in DVD playback menu.

For testing purposes, I have download the Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 trial and everything works fine which must exclude a hardware problem.

Who did the trick. Everything I threw at it worked well. I tried to do an update, the police is unreadable on my screen and it gave me the opportunity to close this window. Impossible to tell what version it is.

    Hello Russell,

    Thanks for the reply.

    I appreciate your patience.

It is regrettable that the CD/DVD drive cannot read Blu - ray discs.

However, please do not hesitate to answer, if you have other problems with Windows.

    Thank you

  • LG GGW-H20L ATA use to work now, does not burn and no formatting Blue Ray discs but a DVD.

I was burning Verbatim 25 G Blue Ray discs like crazy, as well as the monolayer regular and double layer DVD for more than two years and now it will not burn or format Blue Ray discs. It appears in my computer and it won't give me the options of the ISO image or Live to get in shape. I use both bury camera Panasonic and Adobe CS4 software.  I use only the part simple DVD sex the LG GGW - H20L ATA now. I tried several things here on the internet, but nothing works, nothing works yet. Even tried the new installation of Vista 64 and still nothing. I tried to reflash LG GGW-H20L-ATA with the same version of the software package.

Anyone has the same problem or a solution? I need Blue Ray for my video business.

  • CD/DVD/Blu Ray, failing to detect/read blu ray discs

    Hello community of Sony

This is my first post, so please be patient with me

I have a Sony vaio laptop, the model name is VPCEG16FM

I've already restored to factory settings some days and everything is up-to-date and running smoothly. Except that... the Blu Ray disc player? DVD/CD works fine, but when I insert a Blu Ray disc, he jumps like two or three times and is unable to read. When I first bought this laptop of course all worked well but it's just darn blu - ray disc player and listen the * out of me. Some of my solutions was of course, restore to factory setting and a complete update of downloads. Then, after reading a few other blog posts, I've also tried going to the Device Manager and uninstall the cd/dvd drive and then restarting my computer. Reinstall it successfully on its own when restart the laptop but again, only the * blu ray disks are not read. My friend tried, also, what we call the function restore drivers?  But it seemed very pointless lol... IM starting to think that the drive is actually just broken but if yes then would be not DVD and CD not work as well? Please Sony community! you are my last hope!

    Hi ape_monsta!

I would like to request more information.  Is it on all Blu Ray titles? Have you tried to play the songs that works properly in the past?

  • My optiarc cant BD ROM BC-5500 ATA device read blue ray discs, it can only be read normal CD-ROMs. Please help :(

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

Always do a job - even in a first time?  If so, pilots may have been replaced by a Microsoft Update and maybe that's why it doesn't work anymore.  Check the drivers and see if there is an option to restore the drivers to a previous version (which may be supplied with the system when he worked).  If so, try the restore and see if that solves the problem.  Make sure that it not only reads blu ray disks but can read and burn CDs and DVDs as it should.  If not you can always just reinstall the drivers by unscrewing the restore and restore the drivers who were there before you started this effort and again to confirm that it still works except for playing blu ray discs.

I don't see the point in HP brake a blu ray player that has no driver available for it - I have never actually heard of what happens with a manufacturer or the device installed on the computers they sell.  Someone at HP left dropped the ball big time on this one.  Maybe HP will give you a free exchange to another blu ray player they may have available for your computer making the drivers for it and who actually works like the one bought you is not - it can't hurt to ask.  Check the options first then you can ask to him who is of at least equal quality and is the same price, or maybe a bit more expensive - they can always be arranged because of the problem, they know exists.  I guess that it's still under warranty, so that shouldn't be a problem.  It's an option-, but the decision is yours.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Cannot read Blu - ray in Windows 7

I have a HP S5160F desktop PC.  He has a drive of super disc including Blu - ray.  Since I've upgraded to Windows 7 I was not able to play a Blu - ray disc. I recognizes and plays regular DVD but not Blu - ray.  Media Player displays the disc is loaded, but says it is empty.  The Device Manager shows the latest drivers are loaded.  Automatic downloads are enabled.

Install a codec Blu - ray or DVD player software which includes a Blu - ray codec.

I can't read blu - ray on my laptop, I get an error message saying does not support. do I need a different codec and if so what we and how do I get it? Please someone help me

You have the right equipment needed to play the blurays?  (In other words - you have a player of Blu - Ray... not only a reader of CD and/or DVD built in?)

  • Blu Ray player can not read the DVD. It can read CDs and Blu Ray discs, but not DVD.

Recently, I lost my hard drive.  Dell sent me a new disk with the drivers that came with the computer.

I just noticed that my Blu Ray player is no longer playing DVDs.  I don't know if the hard drive crash has nothing to do with it, or if it's a coincidence.

Windows says I have the latest driver.

The computer is a Dell XPS 8300.   Is the Blu Ray player: bd - re bh30n hl-dt-st.

The player has not served almost at all.   I read that there are the eyes for the Blu Ray vs DVD, then maybe the DVD part has failed.

I'm always suspect that miss me a piece of software or a changed value.

    Any ideas?

For all of you, the poor souls who shared my problem on the internet, I got beyond that.   Even though all said I had the latest driver, I found someone who said that they had downloaded a newer driver form the LG site and it fixed the problem.   Well, BH30N wasn't a model # on the LG site, but I found here: http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1703-file_BH30N-A103.zip.html Norton said it was OK, I clicked on the EXE file, he said that he had me upgrade from A101 to A103 and suggested that I reload.   Once I did, my Blu Ray player will read the DVD fine.

  • drive Blu - Ray dv8t-1100 is no longer reads Blu - Ray discs

The OS is Win7 Pro. The Blu - Ray player will read all CD and DVD and BD with no video content. I updated and verified that all software audio/video (MediaSmart, Media Center, Media Player, DivX and RealPlayer) are up-to-date. The BDs are not recognized by any program, and I get a message to insert a floppy disk. I understand that not all of the comics will play on all players, but these are all discs, I've played several times before. If you need additional information about the configuration of the system, let me know and I will provide. Thanx

I use Norton Security Suite for Comcast. The solution to my problem ranks right up there with "is it plugged in?

I took a small lint cloth and GENTLY wipe the blue read/write head. Problem solved! Please be others with the same problem, try this first. It can save a lot of upgrade.

    Thanks for your reply.

  • I want to burn a project on Blu ray disc using the European standard PAL - that my setting is at the start of the project - I find confusing everything!

I'm new to Final Cut Pro X and downloaded the free trial version and purchase and my goal is to create a project and then my output end will be discs Bluray I want to play on my player Blu - ray House.

Do I need to establish the European PAL standard (as I have always done on a previous, or is video editing software - this important.

I find the whole very confusing subject and would be very grateful for any help or suggestion

    Thank you

    Chris

It should not matter to your BD player.

In General, it is usually best to edit in the format that the material was shot and recorded in. So if you shot 25 fps, keep it at this frame rate, set the properties of project on automatic and Final Cut will create the new project with parameters that match the first clip added to the timeline. When finished editing, choose share > Blu Ray.

    Good luck.

  • When I try to read Blu - Ray, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. »

    Original title: Blu - Ray

My computer can read blu - ray, but when I try to play one, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. "How should I do?

    Hello

The Blu - ray disc format is not supported in Windows Media Player. To play a Blu - ray Disc, you must use a non-Microsoft program that supports playback of Blu ray and a device that can play Blu ray discs.

    See the article mentioned below:

Read a CD or a DVD in Windows Media Player: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Play-a-CD-or-DVD-in-Windows-Media-Player

  • HP mediasmart dvd - play the blu - ray disc Avengers

    Hello

I have a hp laptop with win 7 Home premium 64-bit.

I use the HP Mediasmart DvD version 4.2.2.5122 of the software and I can not play the Avengers Blu - ray disc - all other bd drives works fine (tintin, avatar, etc.). Does anyone know if there will be an update for Mediasmart dvd software support disk Avengers?

    Hello

If you use HP MediaSmart DVD to read Blu - ray disc, try the following.

HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56904.exe

Once the download is complete, open windows control panel, open programs and features, make a right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - when this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, open your downloads folder and double-click Setup for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once this done, see if your Blu - ray disc now plays OK.

    Kind regards
