  Cannot open any jpeg full image. I'll help you with this problem.

  1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

  2. what security software is installed on the computer?

  3. are you able to open any image with other file extensions?

  4. what application you use to open the images?

  As you can see the full image in safe mode, let's try the following steps.

  Method 1.

  A clean boot to test if any element of service or third party application startup is causing this issue.

  You want to open .jpeg files with paint instead of a program like Windows Picture and Fax Viewer? Whatever it is, create an association to file as well.
   
  1. If an attachment, download and save it to the desktop.
  2. right click on the saved file.
  3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
  4. click on: choose [default] program.
  5. Select: Paint or other photo look an program.
  6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.

  I use Adobe photoshop 7.0 and usually when I open a jpeg image it just opens but some jpeg images will not open correctly. There is this image to jpeg when I try to open it it either displays an error message that it is not the right type of file or shows a dialog box, as if I'm trying to open a new blank page custom and wonder what size, transparency, etc. and no matter what I select always opens a blank page and I couldn't see the image that is supposed to be there. In other programs, it will open normally and show normal jpeg image in the image viewer or GIMP image editor but curiously won't open in Adobe Photoshop. I tried to open the same file in the GIMP image editor and open the file but when I try to save the file, strangely he advises me to export the file before you save it. I think that the jpeg file may have the invisible layers that photoshop can't handle, but I could not get rid of the layers correctly. I tried to flatten the image and to export the file to a normal jpeg file and remove all the invisible layers, but even after all this, when I save it as a normal jpeg file and open it again in adobe photoshop it still cannot open the file. Anyone know how I can force the program to display the image and or get rid of it permanently from the weird layers or markers that prevented it to open in Adobe Photoshop?

  Thank you for your help Nancy. Your process worked almost completely. The exception is that when I tried to copy the image to a Web page as Firefox (I have not internet Explorer), it became not the Adobe Photoshop Clipboard and therefore could not be pasted. However, I simply recorded the image of a Firefox window as a different file name and that solved the problem. Now the copied image can be opened in Adobe Photoshop. Thank you for your help.

  Thank you Joe Maniac.  I deleted the original linked files on my internal hard drive which were dng files, but had copies of the raw files edited and edited the exported raw files (in JPEG format).  I don't have copies of dng files.  So what I ended up having to do was import the original raw files which then made a DNG copy on my internal hard drive.  The link has not changed, but now the files were back in the original track for missing photo alerts disappeared and I was able to see my change history.  The process has been painful, but without the dng, I had nothing to do a link to more if at least re-import them files has recreated the dng.  I don't know if there was an easier way, but it seemed that the problem did not the link deletion.  I use LR for a few years, but it was a rookie mistake, precipitated by my hard drive being so jammed up I ended up delete what I shouldn't.  I should have just moved the dng and the link to an external hard drive.   You opened an empty catalog.

  You can try the following two steps to open the appropriate catalog file.

  1. Use the file-> open recent, open the list of all catalogs
  2. If this does not work, you will need to find the appropriate help for your operating system catalog file and double-click it to open it.

  I created a (A5) document in Indesign cs6 with 116 pages. Because I would like to print the book I want to export it in pdf format. Re-save the image with different settings, and then try again. "It's pretty boring, because my book contains 631 links, most of which are .jpg. Anyone know how I can know what image gives the error?

  What is remarkable is the following. Because it is a very large file, InDesign automatically cut into paragraphs (with names like 'A5 V' or 'A5 V3'). Closer to the problem, I tried to export each paragraph (all between 3 and 30 pages) in pdf format. But I managed to do that, then you would think that there is nothing wrong with the document at all. But when I try to export the document as a whole still once I always get this error message on the JPEG image. It takes a few minutes (between 30 and 40 percent of export) before I get the error.

  Is that what I should have tried that I forgot? I hope someone can help me with this problem.

  If you are able to export as sections it is almost certainly not actually a problem with the image, but a problem not enough system resources to complete the work. It's not uncommon that large complexes PDF exports.

  Try to restart and then immediately open ID and try again the first thing of the export. If it works fine. If this isn't the case, you can combine your sections in a single PDF file in Acrobat Pro.

• Cannot save edited image. Error message: "the file is already in use or left open.

  I tried to save JPEG images after making a few changes to Photoshop CS4. For each file, I get the message "cannot save (file name) because the file is already in use or left open." I checked my apps and nothing is running would be to use the image. Can someone look over my EtreCheck and tell me if there is something current funny? I'm working on hundreds of images, so just change the name is slow and heavy work around. The problem seems to have started after update 10.11.
