  I scanned for malware, reset Firefox, search and uninstalled all toolbars and unknown extensions, uninstalled Firefox for all users on this computer, deleted all the profile folders for all users on this computer and re-installed Firefox after each of these changes. Firefox retains settings and works fine until the computer is restarted. Then, Firefox comes back to home pages that have been set up several months ago. I tried this with different versions of Firefox for a few months to see if it makes a difference. This isn't.
  What is happening on a Windows System 7 Pro 64-bit as part of a 2008 Server domain (no roaming profile configured).
  Where it is to find the old settings and how do I get rid of them?

  Use you the Advanced SystemCare or any other software security/utility with a protection function of the parameters? These can be called surf Protection, Protection of the browser, the Home Page Protection, etc. You may need to turn those off in order to save changes to settings.

  Hello l.j.claessen, please perform the following steps - they must remove the remaining bits of Babylon:

  • Go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "view folder", then a new window will open. in this window look out for a file named user.js, delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards. This will get rid of the file which is crushing your custom setting homepage.
  • install the addon from reset serach, he'll be back a few other settings that got changed by Babylon default ones: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

  What offered Colum is certainly valid. However, based on your screenshot it seems you are maybe by clicking on the home and be puzzled as to why the home page cannot be displayed. If this is the case, you must configure the point home to display the desired page.

  In RoboHelp 6 accomplish you it as follows:
  Expand the Windows username folder
  Double-click the CHM window and you should see the properties of the window
  Click on the Advanced... button properties
  Fill in the field titled "Home".
  Recompile the project

  Note that you can really put anything on the ground. You can insert a web address like http://www.google.com , or you can point to a topic in your help system. If you want this area to open your default topic, you must type the path and the name of the default theme.

  Simply go to options. And the link above as your homepage. Firefox 4 does not show this page. I have no idea why.

  Good news! By placing the cursor on the user.js file and take a screenshot of the location, I was able to find the file using my computer, then delete it. Since then, Firefox * seems * to load my homepage provided on each new startup. Therefore, I should be in good shape with regard to this issue.

  I am trying to install and run a local version of Apex 4.2.2 on my Windows 7 laptop.  I followed the instructions in the Setup Guide of Apex.  And followed the troubleshooting steps and previous patterns uninstalled previous facilities.  Set up and ran the @apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP/i /.  And configured for the embedded PL/SQL Gateway Protocol. When you enter the url of the apex apex / http://127.0.0.0:8080 / apex_admin browser (configured to run java script) runs for 30 seconds then go back to the page "connection has expired.  The server to 127.0.0.0 takes too long to respond. "Is there something else I need to check/try (log files?).  At one point I had installed 3.2.2 Apex and to the top and runnign on the same laptop, but were not able to get the apex operational 4.x.  Thanks for any help.  -Mike

  It doesn't matter what website, I consulted, it happens every time.
