Cannot restart, shut down, or logout

When I turned on my computer this morning, I saw an update available which was simply to correct a problem of security. There is nothing wrong with the computer, but I had not yet started any work so it seemed timely to update. The notification that the computer should restart automatically came, and I clicked on restart to put the move process. It simply seemed to dismiss the notification. I tried again to make sure I hit the restart button, nothing more. I googled: Mac will not perform the security update. Most of the results were for older versions of Mac OS. I thought that it might help. The menu apple could not preform one. Stop, same result as before and the same thing has happened to a disconnection. I can sleep the computer, but a disconnection is impossible. I think a problem in Adobe creative suite (the most recently installed program) keeps closing down. It does not reset the SMC. Using the activity monitor to stop the process of connection window manually also fails to solve the problem. I want to assure you that I can install future updates, and it would be nice if I could install it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

MacBook Pro (15-inch model mid-2015, retina), i7 to 2.2 GHz

I have had similar problems with other programs of freezing and not allowing me to exit the application, close the session, restart etc. I submit a post with many other issues I'm having with 10.11.6. I have just deployed 150 machines in schools and it is beyond frustrating.

  • Cannot restart / shut down comments

I installed Windows Server 2003 on Fusion (Version 2.0.1 (128865)).

Then I tried to install all the updates, but system (Win2k3) was slain.

I am trying to restart or shut down but I can't not (!)

Of course regular operation "Shut down" Windows Server does not work but it's normal behavior.

It is whenever I do "Shutdown invited" or 'Restart Guest' in the menu 'Virtual Machine' the virtual machine screen only flashes and that's all that is really weird for me. I can not "hard reset" of my comment system! I tried same 'force quite' on the merger, but after the assassination of Fusion in this way it starts my suspended guest next time I try to run it.

Note: It's like pulling the plug of the wall on a physical computer. Whatever this is not saved will be lost and there is always the possibility of corrupting the file system where preforming a hard stop! (Even if you have no choice but to do.)

VMware Fusion menu bar > VM > press the option key and select Power Off

By pressing the keys alt/option "Shutdown called" changes to "Power Off".

Note: It also changes orders of "Suspend comments" and "Restart Guest' too.

Or... On the library Virtual Machine ctrl - click on the target of the Virtual Machine and select Show in Finder and delete the .vmss file, the ctrl + click the target package of Virtual Machine, and then after the merger closed. Note: All that was not justified for the suspended state will be lost by deleting the .vmss file. Note: But you will have no other choice is the Virtual Machine will not suspend/resume/stop/start correctly.

  • How to suspend, restart, shut down as default instead of Force *.

I know it's strange, but I still see "Force Suspend, restart of strength and force Shut Down" when I click on the menu 'Virtual Machine' WITHOUT hold down the Option key.  This also affects the behavior when I set the preference 'when you close the virtual machine"to"Turn off the virtual machine", as he always does force stops instead of a graceful.  Note I can hold the Option key to Force * to go and make the soft stop, but that's all just annoying.

So the question is, how can I make sure the normal shutdown of suspend, restart, are the default actions?

    My system is:

Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual - Core Intel Xeon

    Mac OS X 10.5.8

    VMware Fusion 3.0.1 (215242)

Windows XP SP3 VM (2 CPUs, 2048 MB RAM, 3D active)

    Thank you!

The default power options are controlled by the .vmx powerType.* entries, and I think that they are also affected by the question of whether the tools are installed. You want the following lines:

    powerType.powerOff = "soft"
    powerType.powerOn = "soft"
    powerType.suspend = "soft"
    powerType.reset = "soft"

(as opposed to the 'hard'). These should have been set this way automatically, but if you have imported the virtual machine from another source, they can be different.

Note that if the client does not know how to properly manage power plants, that does not help.

  • Disappears from drive mapped after restart/shut down PC

I could connect another network drive, but I got this X: drive which is missing when I restart my PC.

    Did the procedure below:

    1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    2. click on map network drive.

    3. in the drive list, click a drive letter.

You can choose any available letter.

    4. in the folder box, type the path of the folder or the computer, or click Browse to search for the folder or computer.

To connect every time that you log on your computer, select the check box to reconnect at logon .

    5. click on Finish.

    - And I can't just change the letter of the road network as it was the way with the different macros.

I try mapping the command-line instead and see if it holds. Here's how:

    1. Click Start, find the guest orders and do a right click to use "run as Administrator".
    2. To the administrator command prompt, type, and then press ENTER:

      NET use x: \\server\folder\subfolder

  • El capitan cannot restart, stop or close the session

If someone has problems with the restart, shut down or close the session with El Capitan (items disappear from the screen, but then restart stops on a white screen, the cursor still moves, dock still works) I have a possible solution. It should probably be a musician for your problem but check library-> Audio-> Plugins-> HAL and make sure that you don't have a plugin file named Digidesign CoreAudio or Avid CoreAudio. These two causes this problem. Avid is the most recent files, but still incompatible with El Capitan. Delete this file. Hope that helps someone.

  • Satellite A300-1EC cannot load the OS and restart just /shuts down

Can you help me with my problem of A300 PSAG0Elaptop.

    This is the case:
before that I can still use my laptop normally without plugging the power cord but when plug the source ca the unit restarts all of a sudden. I charge the battery only when the unit is off. And now the worst case gets when I installed the recovery disk hoping would solve the problem. I can no longer load the operating system; It's just loading then it does not load and suddenly shuts down and sometimes simply frozen. I have not tried the safe mode, mode ahci, system recovery, system repair, and stil no chance.
I brought this already at the center of ASP service and they demanded almost 1 unit brand new laptop for repair of my laptop is not advisable to send them to repair.
I doubt that my system bios is not compatible with my vista Home premium OS, or perhaps my wife update of the bios that is not compatible in windows update. My current bios I checked is 1.4

Given that I have no option instead of junking my laptop, I want to update or back to the original settings of the bios that can help to repair my device.
Can you help me on how to update or revert to the original my system bios? As I can't access the windows can you teach me step by step using the usb port of my camera on system bios update? Or do you have any suggestions?

    Hey Buddy,

First of all, the BIOS can only be updated Windows System. There is no other version that you can download on the site Web of Toshiba.

But I doubt that this problem is caused by the BIOS. It s I knew not that it is possible to change certain values which make impossible Windows installation. With other words BIOS is secure and with all the settings, it should be possible to install Windows.
An alternative you can press F9 in BIOS to load the default settings. That would be the best option.

But according to your assignment, if Windows installation of recovery disc doesn t work and you are not able to charge the battery while the laptop is turned on it seems to be a hardware malfunction because seriously it has nothing to do with the software.

So either come you into contact with the ASP to get the repaired device or you can repair yourself with original spare parts with parts ASP or second-hand on eBay or similar platforms.
Of course, you can buy a new laptop: in case the motherboard would be defective because the motherboard is very expensive spare part, it would be the best choice in my opinion.

Thank you very much. Would be a new instal OS solve these problems?

If you mean a new facility on a reformatted drive or a system recovery using recovery of the manufacture process, Yes, certainly, unless it's a hardware problem - but then you learn nothing about what caused the problem in the first place and so how do I prevent it from happening again.
    WRT your mistakes: -.
    1. nothing to worry about, as most of the machines do not have parallel ports today (unless yours does?)
    (2) it is difficult to talk about this, without more details-, but because they say "dependants", rather that "unload", it can probably be ignored.
    (3) it seems normal - I've seen a lot of PC with this error, and apparently nothing wrong. -It is important only if you are connected to a domain server
    (4) the service (I think) is a result of system crash, rather than a cause of the grip.

It seems that the cause of this will remain a mystery.
My earlier concern about SR doesn't work not just because of problems still standing stop - but back your data first, so that if the worst happens and you cannot start the system later, you can go to plan B.
As Lorien says, try a back system restore to before the problem started - although at 2 months, I would worry about the stability of the system later. Since you already said that you are willing to do a reinstall if necessary, give it a whirl :)

I have upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. I hate it, I have had no trouble with my computer since then, display problems, shut downs, restart ect this is the worst operating system. my computer is only a year and a half. I did all the recovery disc, the system image, repair disk and back ups from the first day. at - it someone now how to return to windows 7 or I have to take it to a tech and spend more money and time. I would also not recommend 10 to anyone unless you want a mobile phone instead of the computer. I might be old school, but I never had these problems before installing windows 10. Help

    Hello

Use them if you want to try to fix the problems. Because the computer is not
This old do not forget to check with the help of the manufacturer of the motherboard of the system,.
their documentation online and drivers and ask in their forums on any

    known issues and compatibility.

If you are a 3rd party antivirus on the operating system you upgraded OR if you have a
now uninstall it and then run the removal of its creator tool. Use Windows Defender

    Then, restart the computer.

Make sure that you run the BIOS and latest drivers available.

    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Windows 7 will not shut down or restart

Hi guys, basically for the 3 days since my computer won't shut down or restart. I normally turn off every night and I've never had this problem before. I used the tool to update window update, but it says that it cannot complete the installation until I restart, but obviously I can't do that either.

I tried to change the power does-that is to say buttons when the laptop closed = stop down. But even that won't work.

Anyone has any ideas that could help me solve this problem?

    Thank you.

Not sure, but what about the command 'shutdown '? (perhaps with the /r (reboot) option)

My icons move and expand on the restart or shut down my computer. I tried so many ways to address this issue and nothing that I do work!
I want that my icons organized and light them as I wish. It's so awkward knowing that everytime I restart or shutdown my PC, they get auto disposed in the left side in a court order, I don't want them to be. They seem to be locked in an alphabetical order form and even when I unchecked everything and try to arrange my icons, each time to restart or shut down, they self organized, put in alphabetical order and to a medium size (I mean small) on the left side of the desktop.

I tried to refresh all moving them, making sure that the theme of my office does not allow changes, the SHIFT while clicking on, updated drivers but nothing works!

I have Windows 7 and ATI Radeon card graphics card. This problem has occurred as soon as I forced a stop down by holding down the power button. It wasn't the first time I did it, but for some reason, it happened today.
