Cannot run Foxpro back based program in Windows 7

I have the file executable foxpro (dos) based, but I could not run the same Windows 7. Kindly help

It will not work on Windows 7.  Probably, it will not work on any Windows NT based, such as Windows 2000, XP, or Vista either.

  • Cannot run most of the programs in Control Panel because it says that I don't have \WINDOWS\system32\rundll.exe'. on my hard drive

I recently installed sp3 on my computor he had sp2 now when I access panel, I can't run any programs like display or add or remove programs or internet con. I tried the system restore but it will not go forward or backward I always got the error this file \WIndows\system32\rundll32.exe'. is not on the hard drive that I can reistall sp 2 with sp3 hope somone can help thanks lindell wood

If you have installed SP3 and now the file is missing, the opinion of the Support Engineer Microsoft won't help you unless you have a genuine XP installation CD also is Service Pack 3.

That's extremely unlikely, unless you did it yourself and some people have never seen a real installation of XP bootable CD in their life then, how is this will help...  But, this is a link to a Microsoft KB article.

When you try to open a control panel applet, you see a message like this:

    Control Panel
Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe '.  Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again.  To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click search.

If the file is actually missing, it was probably quarantined (actually deleted) programmatically your antivirus or anti-malware not specified that you use.

You might want to reconsider anything not stated antivirus or antimalware you programs use and whether or not they are effective to protect your system.

You can look in the c:\windows\system32 folder and see if the file is actually missing or not, but you should replace it somehow.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:
    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called rundll32 when the name of the file should really be called rundll32.exe (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

  • Unable to connect to any internet - based programs except windows mail still receives. Windows 8 operating system

I the origin of this tag on the application of someone else, but thought that might get missed then asked a new question of my own

I'm having this problem too.  It occurred spontaneously two nights ago. Until now, I had no problem with the connection, now although I can see the internet connection (wireless), it's a signal strong and windows mail will always receive emails, I can't access ALL the web connections.  Can't get windows updates, cannot use any browser (chrome or ie), cannot connect to itunes store.  Sometimes if I reboot I get a shot at a link to a web page and then nothing.  I spent hours on this point - have used norton removal tool to remove the remains of any preinstalled software norton, no proxy box is checked, took

and protocols tcp readded, tried to change the DNS settings, removed and restarted winsock from registry.  Finally last night I started to remove applications - removed from google chrome, deleted itunes and all the components, report of Trusteer deleted (which may have been the only thing to be updated when the problem started and removed my av (panda) software.)  Finally, several reboots later, I thought that I had cracked because I was able to connect to the internet, reinstalled the av software, reinstalled chrome, reinstalled itunes and has managed to make updates, I tried to do in itunes.  BUT, this morning have restarted - when the PC was closing I got a fleeting glimpse off the coast of the webcheckmonitor error message that disappeared before I could do anything and I'm back to square 1 - I.e.I can get windows mail but NOTHING ELSE through browser windows.

Responses to help advising a link to Web sites or by downloading tools are useless as I have no Internet connection.  And, Yes, I've tried is doing a restore of windows and while I can restore to the most recent time point on 3 July, to return to any another restore point generates an error (0x8007045b) - a Microsoft.windowscommumicationsappsdocx file cannot be extracted.

Full scans of my PC with my av software found nothing.

I'm now about to do a full factory reset, but the thought of reinstalling everything makes me want to cry

There must be a solution - all the forums I've seen are a few years referring to xp or vista, but I use windows 8 (reluctant valuation) after that xp is out of support and really wish I had that sturdy old BONES back!

Moreover, I am writing from an iPad connected to the wireless router even though I know that my internet connection works.

Well, my problem seems to solve as spontaneously as it came! So after trying to solve the problem in the region of 15 hours over 3 days, including a lot of time in the queue to speak to my ISP in case there was a problem in broadband, day 4 when I started my PC everything was OK.

It's a real conundrum!   When I persuade my ISP to do a speedtest on my line, they measured the line speed at 1.5 Mbit/s.  I couldn't even run speedtest form my PC at the time that I received no response.

I know not so mobile devices and windows mail is lighter to consumers on the Internet than a complete PC based browser and were able to maintain the internet connection if the line speeds were poor. It seems weird that my mobile could happily connect to mail, google search and internet sites so that my PC can 'see' my router but not access the internet.

Again, thanks for your response.  The only thing I hadn't tried (and ultimately does not need of) has been updated to network adapter - but notice I could not find updates for her in any case I was getting no response for searches on the web at the time and had already tried to look for windows updates , but he could not connect.

    Hello

Glad to know that you have addressed the issue.

In Control Panel, you can enable Windows features enable or disable link on the left. .NET Framework will be in the window that opens, a check mark beside that that means that it is installed.

Windows 7 comes with .net Framework 4.0 Client profile, you must install the lower version.

I suggest you follow the instructions in the link:

    Hello

Windows Vista does not include a 16-bit subsystem. So, you will not be able to run 16-bit applications on Windows Vista directly. However, you can install Virtual PC on your
Vista computer and then you can install Windows XP on your virtual PC to run 16-bit applications.

  • How to run a 32-bit program written in foxpro for windows (fpw26) under a window of 64 bit 7 or 8

    Original title: compatibility issue

How to run a 32-bit program written in foxpro for windows (fpw26) under a window of 64 bit 7 or 8

    Thanks in advance

32-bit programs work fine on 64 bit versions of Windows.  In fact, over 95% of the software that comes with the 64-bit Windows version is 32-bit, because there is no reason for re - programming software for upper bits when it would not net any performance gain.  Even Microsoft Office is 32-bit on a 64-bit computer.

So to use a 32-bit program, just run it normally.  If there are failures, let us know what said failure.

PS. the program may have other failures that are unrelated to the number of bits of the processor.  Try right click on the program and choose to resolve compatibility issues to try to fix it automatically.

  • Cannot run a few rare games and programs, error: Windows Explorer crashes

    Original title: Explorer Crash!

I am running windows xp sp3. My explore blocks every minute. The hook of the office and taskbar, but the programs that run on top continues to operate smoothly and even I can work with them. Then I open the Task Manager and end Explorer and it starts again. It works very well for a minute and then it crashes again.
Now I am unable to run some games and programs. They close automatically when explore crashes. Help, please!

If I were you, I would uninstall the problematic Windows Desktop Search (you can always reinstall it later), reboot and see how things work.

Since it is not supposed to fix a system that may be achieved malicious software, I would then scan your system for malware:

Download, install, update and do a quick scan with these free malware detection programs (not at the same time):

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

SAS will probably be a lot that you can just let it remove tracking cookies.

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, restart and see how things work.

Here's how to solve the Explorer Shell Extensions of (these are generic, but still good instructions for troubleshooting):

When the Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) is wrong (especially when right click), begin to suspect third-party add-ons explore extension.

Those who would be the Explorer extensions that do not belong to Microsoft.  This means that extensions that you have added.  Solution Explorer extensions are generally well and installation of certain applications will install extensions from Explorer solutions for you, give you a choice and sometimes they can be added without your knowledge when you
    install new software.

Solution Explorer extensions are sometimes added as a new right-click option, you see on folders and files (like the scan of this file, open that file, play this song).

If there is something in particular that you do during exploration that you know will be the cause of the problem, which will help focus on the problem and the help that you suddenly know, when you have found and corrected.  If you can get there when you want it, make an adjustment and then there is no message the next time you don't do anything, you do, you have found and corrected.

First of all you need a way to see what modules explore you have installed now and a way to turn them off (not uninstall them) so you can understand that we are at the origin of the problem.  You can have a lot of extensions not installed Microsoft don't even know you about.

Download ShellExView here to see what Explorer extensions you have loaded:

    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/shexview.html

ShellExView does not install anything on your computer, simply of runs and displays.

After launch ShellExView (shexview.exe double click) and acknowledge the security warning, adjust the column widths you see everything
clearly.  Under Options, choose "Mark non-Microsoft Extensions" and extensions not Microsoft will be in pink, but on some systems which is a difficult color to see, so click on display, choose the columns and move Microsoft column closer to the top (Mount), so you can see on your screen without having to scroll left and right.

Click on the header of column called Microsoft to sort display (by clicking on the column heading in Microsoft) then all the non Microsoft extensions are at the top and easy to see.  They will say 'No' since they are not Microsoft extensions.

Non-Microsoft extensions would be things you have added (non-Microsoft) and are what you should be suspect.

You can also Google the name of a suspect add-on and see if there is any success on the mistakes of the DEP and what other people have done about it.

    You can Google something like:

    Explorer XP crashing

You must complete your suspect on behalf of adds on.

See what kind of search results hits you get and are looking for solutions or situations that sound like yours.

I'm not a defender of trial and error, but I can't think of another way to do...

Right click and disable the non Microsoft extensions one at a time (or maybe in groups of 3-5), keep a list, so you can enable them again later if you wish. The result of the change is immediate and no reboot is necessary.  Test your failure condition.  If the Explorer starts to act normally, you'll know that some extension you just disabled in this group of 3-5 is the culprit, then you can start to enable them one by one until the Explorer fails again.

If you recognize all the extensions that have been added or recently downloaded, start with these first.

Disabling the extension does not uninstall the extension - it is just disabled.  You can always enable it later, so keep track of things by writing them down.

Disable them one at a time or in small groups (to make things go faster) until your right click does not generate an error, and then restart and try again.  You have disabled the last extension would be suspicious.

You can also disable all non-Microsoft extensions, restart, test your fault condition and allow them one at a time until you find the one that generates the failure condition.

If you have a large number of extensions, you can disable them is small groups, 3-5 at a time instead of 1 at a time until your system starts to behave.  When it does not, you will know that the problem is one of the extensions of this small group and you can enable members of the Group at a time until the problem returns, then the problem is with the last extension that you enabled.

The hope is that you will find extensions that is causing the problem and then you can figure out what on this subject - either uninstall it or see if you can get an update of the author of the extension of their web page.

I have not your problem, but I can when you toggle extensions, the extension is immediately disabled, so disable an extension does not seem to require a restart, but if you think that you have found the problem, I reboot and repeat the test in any case to be sure the problem disappeared.

If you post your non-Microsoft extensions list, maybe someone will recognize it as a potential problem.

If you find the offending extension that's the problem, please let us know what it is that I can add to my list.

  • HELP | J4580 Windows 8 install fax printer. Cannot run or AIO Win7 or XP in Win8 installation program.

Product name & number: HP J4580 All in One (Fax, printer, copier & Scanner)

    Operating system: Windows 8 Professional

Cannot run everything in a single installer Win7 or XP with or without compatibility under Win8. The printer & scanner was installed by Win8 itself by using windows update. But unfortunately, I can't do how to install the fax printer. You also need to configure fax to PC as it is very vital for me to keep track of all incoming faxes.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I was able to get this sorted out by running the installer as an administrator in addition to the Win7 compatibility check box. Without run as administrator, after clicking on the button install, nothing happens.
