Cannot set in AHCI mode for disc SSD NB300

Hello

I have a Toshiba NB300 netbook, running Windows 8 Pro 32 bit, very happy with it!
I have a Corsair 3 112 GB Force SSD drive is installed, and everything seems to work fine!

Read on the SSDS, I see that a better performance for executing the SSD in AHCI mode.
So I went to menu configuration of startup and changed compatibility in AHCI mode.
I actually tried a few times, always with the same result, failure!

When the system is trying to start I get a message saying that there was a problem and that
the system is trying to gather information.

The only solution is to go back in the program installation and handed to the compatibility mode.

The BIOS is up to date, and I just don't see any way to solve the problem.
I really want to get best performance with this net book as possible.
I have a screenshot of the details of Speccy SSD drive, but I don't see a way of fixing?

If anyone can advise me on how to get mounted AHCI mode and go that I would be really grateful!

Thank you

Chris

Unfortunately on this forum we don t have reports on the use of the DSS on NBs I have NB520 and I would use the SSD for, but so far I didn't find the right.

As far as I know by default BIOS is set to AHCI mode. What operating system you have installed? The original that you got with your laptop or your own version? Have you installed the s Intel Storage Manager of the Toshiba download page?

  • Ensuring that my SSD boot drive is set to AHCI mode

    Hello

To make a needed firmware update on my newly installed SATA3 instructions (6 GB/s) SSD, the manufacturer said that Windows 7 should run in AHCI mode. I'd appreciate if someone would answer the following questions:

Q1 - How to determine if Windows 7 is running in AHCI mode? ( KB922976 apply?)

Q2 - in the BIOS, the page where the cottage the SATA2 ports (3 Gbps) and where my CD/DVD drive is connected currently shows under Storage Configuration mode is set an 'Enhanced' and SATA before as 'IDE' not 'AHCI '. My SSD does not appear on this page, so is it relevant?

Q3 - in the BIOS, under "Onboard Devices Configuration", the Marvell Storage Contrller is set to "IDE Mode" (the other options are 'AHCI' and 'Disabled') and the 'Marvell Boot Room' is set to 'Auto '. I suspect that this controller is one of my SSD. Is this relevant and if so, do I just put it mode 'IDE' to 'AHCI '?

I am pleased that you can enter the world of the AHCI.

  • set wake-up mode for office vista so vista laptop can print

I need to position alarm mode for the vista for computer desktop vista laptop can print! Thank you!

There's not much of a way to do this.  There are programs of "wake on lan" who can wake up a sleeping computer, but they require hard wire Ethernet connection and special software to do (that your printer is probably not the installer to do).

Unfortunately, you will need to go slap a button to wake the computer from office before you can print. Or disable the saving of sleep.

  • Cannot set a specific repository for a machine

I tried many ways to change/set a specific repository for a specific computer and it always goes back to the original.  I removed from the basic machine (saved restore points) and created a new repository. When I added the rear machine automatically resumed inside the restore points, etc. and back have been started.

I removed again (guarded restore points), pushed the agent to the machine and selected the new repository and he said the agent on this computer is the same as the agent on this computer and reset it with the changes. Rebooted the machine.  However, he still picked up points of restoration on the core and attached to the old repository.

I tried a total of 5 different ways to get this machine to see a new repository, but no luck.  The only thing I did is remove the machine & points of restoration out of the nucleus and the Constable and I tried.   Archiving is a joke to say the least and takes 20 hours to around 2.2 to has failed or * the rest of the system (as he did last night).

I used several different backup systems, but AppAssure is by far the worst, slower and less reliable I've seen.  Even my old band system Veritas has been 100% reliable and I spent less time to manage.

I'm only protect three machines on it so it can't be that difficult.  Any thoughts?

    Thank you. Russ

    Hi Russ,

AppAssure has a relationship one between the agent and the repository.  You can have data from an agent in a repository at the same time.  Because Wes pointed out you can follow this KB support.software.dell.com/.../117750 . to migrate from the agent and he gave repo from one to the other.

There is another option to move an agent to a new repository.  You can change the Unique ID of the Agent and then restore it.  By doing this, the kernel will see it as a new agent and allow you to define any repository on your heart, as is the master repository.  If you take this approach, you can keep the old restore points for the agent in the first repository and have all new backups to go to the new repository. Please note that you can never match these two sets of recovery points together once again, because the kernel identifies as a different agent data.  Then they will be displayed always separately.

    To make this change:

    1. Change the display name of the current agent to something different (usually I just add - old for it)
    2. Stop the agent service
    3. On the agent, remove the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppRecovery\Agent\AgentId registry key
    4. Start the agent service and the registry key and the subkeys will be regenerated
    5. Run the wizard of protection on the basis of protecting agent and be sure to select the right repository
    6. Delete the former agent of protection and keep the recovery points
    7. You have now - former agents like recovery Points only and agent under protection.  A new base image is taken as there is still no data for this agent, but once the base is taken all subsequent backups should be incremental.

As for your statement about archiving is a joke, I would need to learn more about your configuration to make a statement. What storage do you use for your storage space?  What speed, the size and the number of disks are used?  What RAID configuration? Is it directly attached, NAS or CIFS? Personally, I always found AppAssure as reliable when repository storage is reliable.  Regarding speed, AppAssure runs how fast on your database server resources are capable. I saw TB of data archived in just a few hours.  I've also seen take days.  It depends on the material used.

  • Is set in cluster mode for a PV220s "sharing"?

    Hey all,.

For some time I have approached anything with the PV220s (only because its been itself features news!) but is considering a change in the current configuration.

Currently, table is linked to a single PERC controller and lapping joined bus mode using all the discs 14. I think to do sets up another server connected to the second EMM and share the whole.

This will happen because I do come aboard another server on the current workload and you need to move the databases.

I have the following questions: -.

    1. If I understand correctly, a disk will be lost. This can then be configured as a hot spare or physically disconnected?
    2. This configuration is as simple as turning off the power, press the switch cluster mode and reboot all servers?
    3. It would be preferable to use instead the split bus?
    4. Choice of the mode of bus on the fly would cause data loss?

As I said, its been a while that I have drawn on the PV since its been working fine. Maybe I shouldn't touch something which did not gave no problem, but I could do with the help of better space between the 2 servers.

    See you soon,.

I realized at some point a year ago or so, I did try and migrate directly into CS3 from my other laptop and it would not run on AIr. I don't sue him right there. I tried to uninstall all files with the Adobe uninstaller utility, but nothing happened. So I just trashed all records. I also ran CS5 Cleaner, on the traces of CS3 just for the hell of it.

Tried again to install directly from the disc via cd player external and viola, work like its supposed to. I suspect all the downloads that I had set earlier would have worked had I trashed all the CS3 files earlier on the airwaves. Thank you.

  • HP Deskjet 3050 j610: cannot set a static IP for 3050 j610

I have an old 3050 and downloaded the Windows 8.1 software and installed. My wireless works, and I have added the printer. I can connect to the printer with its current IP * (with the browser): 10.1.1.3 = built-in web server.

    * The INVESTIGATION period that has been allocated to the printer by adding first 10.1.1.3 is (and I can see that displayed on the printer itself, when I press the wireless button).

I found a question and answer here, which indicates that, by entering the information network > Wireless > area IPv4 of the built-in web server, I should be able to set a manual IP address of the printer.

Then, choose manual, entered 10.1.1.200, mask 255.255.255.0, and filled in the gateway and the DNS (as suggested).

    Then clicked on apply.

Red text (errors) suggests that I need the bridge, so I type it (10.1.1.1 is correct) and click on apply.

Subsequently, I get the error messages that are similar to

An error occurred. (wipv4Page-400) Click 'OK' to go back.

The only way that I'm NOT getting this error is the suggest a manual IP address 'button' click, below the section of intellectual property. It works (no error message), but this isn't what I want - do everything on time, it suggests 10.1.1.237, but I veux.200

In frustration, I accepted that IP (le.237), and directions in the forum thread to turn off my modem, turning off the printer, then modem WE power, then printer.

As the modem and printer are a couple of rooms apart, it takes a little time to effect; but I do not see the address IP.237 on the printer - there are still 10.1.1.3

What's wrong? Should I update the firmware of the printer? Is there another way to change the IP address that is in the printer?

None of the utilities downloaded and installed for this printer (versions of Windows 8.1) is useful for me.

Once I have worked on this reset factory = 'restore defaults' and considered that it is a procedure on the LCD of the printer, I got rid of the 10.1.1.1 conflict (with my router IP to host).

AET in removing HP 3050 all installed Windows devices and printers printing devices and ignoring the names of ports it that Windows does not like, I could read the new IP address of the router/Windows gave opportunist of a new printer 3050 (from the LCD screen on the printer).

Then, after doing IE11 forget its compliance with standards and use html bad, I put the static IP I wanted.

    Problem SOLVED.

  • Cannot set passwords to disk for Qosmio G30

I tried in vain to find documentation on how to do it-using the method F2 to enter the bios options never works, I tried to use config assist / utility password and cannot find any option. I updated the bios to 1.70

Does anyone know how to access the bios to activate the hard disk password feature?

If you don't see this option, I assume that it is simply not available. Sorry, but I don t have any other explanation. Verification of user manuals is there anything in password disk HARD on Qosmio G30. Did you also check?

By the way: I'm not 100% sure but I think that HARD drive password protection is only on professional available Portege and Tecra laptop computer, not on a portable multimedia Qosmio series.

  • Cannot set the password for hard drive on the W530 with Intel SSD 520

    Hello

I have a w530 with an Intel SSD 520 in primary hard drive Bay. Whenever I try to set a password for the primary hard drive, it doesn't stick. If I chose master + user or simply user, I will enter the password, it will take the passwords without producing an error and then just dump back me to the screen of passwords while leaving the disabled hard drive password.

BIOS is on the latest version for the w530 and SSD, the machine seems fairly normally operate differently.

Does anyone have ideas how I can activate the password? Thank you!

    Hi, ctenorman

I did some research and came across this thread of Intel. There are a few people in the thread who were able to set the password on this particular drive. It seems that changing the BIOS "SATA" compatibility mode, set the password, restart, and then change it to "AHCI" worked for some, but not all customers with this player.

Good luck and let me know how it goes

  • Satellite L300D-11V: can I run SSD in AHCI mode?

    Hello

    I just installed a SSD and Win7 64 bit on a laptop L300D-11V.

Anyone know if it is possible to run in AHCI mode as I don't see the option in the BIOS?

I saw there is a BIOS update but if it is not updated to enable the AHCI I would rather not bother...

    Hello

I assume that it should be possible to use the SSD with AHCI mode.

The AHCI means that the SSD or HARD disk would go with SATA performance but for that you need to install the SATA driver first.
If SATA is set in compatible mode, then a SATA driver is not necessary to install the Windows operating system.
    Simply said;
-n t need SATA drivers in compatibility mode
-you need SATA drivers in AHCI mode

The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Storage Manager and you can download this European driver of Toshiba or Intel page

  • activate the AHCI mode on Envy Dv7 - 7398ca with SSD

    Year old i7 envy Dv7 - 7398ca notebook with SSD Samsung 840 Pro x 256.  Windows 8.1

I've updated to the SSD shortly after I purchsed the laptop.

No problem except the Samsung SSD Wizard software keeps tagging me as AHCI mode is disabled and must be enabled and I do not see it in the BIOS.

Or I see anything that relates in the device as IDE Manager or other.

It seems that the SSD is optimizing not itself based on the fact that it considers that AHCI is disabled.

I apologize for the issue being this topic seems to be beaten to death over time, but I do not see what relates to this model or similar.

    Thanks for all the ideas.

The system is set to ahci or RAID mode. You can tell that by opening the Device Manager and look at the storage controllers. Anyway it is optimized for SSDS and TRIM is activated. You can simply remove the program from Samsung and rest assured that your SSD is optimized.
