Hello

You are welcome

(303 & 305) error codes are respectively the failure of the short and long drive Self Test (DST) and would indicate that the hard disk has failed and must be replaced.  This also matches both the boot-up/recovery problem you describe and the fact that the laptop has been dropped.

If you want a guide on replacing the hard drive yourself (it is a simple procedure and new readers are relatively expensive), please let me know.

Kind regards

  • HAB check failed for start / could not validate the boot image

    Hello

I have neglected my E bike for a few weeks and when I loaded and it fed today, it shows a menu and:

    HAB check failed to start

could not validate the boot image

Tried all the menu items and none of them worked. For me, it's very odd behavior, because BONE is not affected since the last Android 5 update, several months ago.

Are there opportunities for the device?

If you can't make an external reset via hardware buttons, then your phone will have to service.

I tried again on Saturday you have the same problem
I'm now ignoring the update message that is very annoying because he wants me to update daily

The bug in question should be solved with a daily update of today. However, I agree with the recommendation to go with 31.0 once it comes out next Tuesday, or at least to use the beta versions (once per cycle) as a compromise between stability and get the latest features and updates to the platform.

I tried using the reapir drive system but it shows some loading filed and I got a black screen with the pointer (arrow). It remains like this for hours and hours (4 to 6 hours), but never get to "System Recovery Options". I'm not able to boot in SafeMode as well. So far, I've tried repairing the system by clicking on F8, try using System repair Disk, try to use 7 set of DVD disc burn with the image of the system, tried in all cases that I get genuine Windows 7 OS DVD - tell screen load files of windows and that the black screen with the mouse pointer (arrow). • SFC/scannow found he could not repair corrupted files

    Running Windows7 32 Bit

Found several Pots every 5 to 7 years in which this issue; hoping that there may be a newer better way to solve the problem... so seconded and fingers crossed.

    * PC froze

    * Powered off / Powered it back on

    * Selected Normal boot started fine on the desktop PC

Decided to run sfc/scannow.  "At the end it read: Windows resource Protection found damaged, files but was unable to solve some of them.

Looked at the log CBS.log file.  It might take some time to review and even if I saw it that I would not be able to choose the corrupted files, nor know how to find and replace... and don't know if I was smart enough for that I could even remove and replace the files of the operating system.

I realize I've read in some real old Posts on this topic, maybe some corrupt files are not really necessary or important... but I'd rather have a good job of OS.

So is there a way to better\newer to resolve this issue... instead of finding what could be one is necessary in the files of the boot of Hay, then looking for right files to replace those damaged?

I note an In BONE repair on-site... that worries me, because the software just doesn't do well after a repair on the spot.

Looking for replacement option, and eager to have a BONE without corrupted files and corrupt files... If on-site repair is my only way to go... What are the actual steps not excluded... I have my original Windows7 DVD...

Haven't tried using the system restore, given that this feature would not replace the corrupted files back to a previous restore point...

    Very well.

Marking of my previous response as RESPONSE will officially close your thread.

PS: Wouldn't mind a USEFUL vote while you're there either.

  • My older EOS Rebel is dead. I just got back from canon, they said that they could not repair becau

Canon cannot repair the camera because the lifetime has expired. Now what?

It's understandable.  At some point they stop making parts for gear very old and will run finally out of these parts.

Did tell you about the Canon loyalty program?

Don't throw away this broken device!  Offers in the change of loyalty on a regular basis, they do not post details on the Internet, but if you call Canon, they can tell you about the program and all current offers available.

They will allow you to trade in your non-working for a newer camera (which may be a camera refurbished - but remember that same refurb Canon come with the same 1 year warranty which would have a new camera).

The program allows you to get a newer model of the camera for significantly less than it would cost to buy otherwise.

.. .and of course... these new cameras will have greatly improved performance.  ISO in DSLRs performance have improved considerably over the years.  You will enjoy probably have quite a camera body more up-to-date.

The new bodies use all the same EOS lenses - so no worries about the compatibility of the goal.

  • automatic repair of Windows 8 could not repair your pc

I recently bought a new 3 TB hard drive for my computer to add to my system. I installed without a problem and has used the software that came with the drive. For reference, I added a Seagate SATA drive 3TO. I cloned my original 2 TB drive on my new drive because I want to use it as my main drive for windows. No problems showed up after it was complete. My records all use MBR and I have very little experience in creating the partitions. I have partitioned my drive and was designed to use the extra space after the 2 TB limit has been reached.

In all cases after a few days I decided to perform a new installation of windows and my recovery disk that put back me in windows 7. My recovery partition is set for windows 7 and I started the migration to windows 8. After completing the installation of Windows 8-re, I ran the seagate software to allow me to use the extra space on my HARD drive but after restarting my computer finds the option of automatic startup and recovery States that he is unable to fix the pc.

I tried a few different options to no effect but my attempt to enter a system restore point, I noticed the Seagate Software did a restore point so I started this earlier period.

It is a new installation of Windows 8. I have not yet loaded Windows 8.1 as all I have is the DVD of Windows 8 and Windows 7 recovery partition. I decided to try another new facility once again with the same result. I have a 3 TB drive, which has been cloned my original 2 TB disk. My 2 TB drive is wiped with 1 single partition and my new 3 TB drive has a system partition, the OS partition and a recovery partition. In addition, I now have a portion that is not attributed, that I'm unable to access and if I activate Windows finds an inevitable auto repair with no option but to remove the Seagate Software. My question is this, can I use this 3 TB drive as my main drive and be allowed access to all the data or I'll need to come back to used my original drive as the OS drive. I would avoid using my original drive because my new drive is faster.

This issue has been resolved itself, I have reformatted all my readers and did install a clean Windows 8. After reading on the 2 TB limit I found that changing a few settings in my BIOS allows me to use the full 3 TB in Windows 8. I tried to save the Windows 7 recovery partition which has been installed by HP, but thought to remove the partition would be the best option. After formatting the drive, everything works as expected but Windows did install 2 partitions, that I don't already know, it's a recovery of 300 MB partition and a 100 MB EFI system partition. I hope this helps someone else who may have this problem as well.

  • VM does not start-"could not lock file".

I would appreciate some advice on getting this problem - it seems that my computer was turned off suddenly during the night.  Attempts to start my VMware Workstation VM now lead "can't open the Flash xxxx.vmdk or one of the disks disk that it depends on.  Reason: cannot lock the file. »

FWIW, I do not use any snapshots.

Is there a workaround for the "impossible to lock the file?  Is it possible to get this virtual machine starts?

Delete the lck files and your VM should do it again.
