  Because you have tried all the steps of troubleshooting and still faces questions, I suggest you do an InPlace upgrade using the Installation of Windows Vista disc.

  Note Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.   b. Insert the Windows Vista DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.

  c. in the settings window, click install now.

  List programs, click Setup.exe.
