· Did you try not plugging and re - connect the printer cable connection and check if it works?
· Have you tried all of the steps outlined in method 1?
If you are able to print via the wireless connection then I suggest you to re - check the printer connection cable, try different cable connection and check if that helps.

To try to resolve the problem, you'll want to confirm that the inkjet nozzles are distribute the ink properly by printing a printer nozzle check pattern. If the model does not print correctly, we recommend you to at least cleaning and deep cleanings on the printer to try to get the printing ink. To print the nozzle check pattern and make cleaning, please follow the steps located here.

I lost instructions and can't download the manual though, like many others I tried for hours!

This is a question for CANON - those who make and take over the device in question. Everything you describe indicate that this is NOT a computer / software somehow problem and the problem would be the same if the device was not connected to any computer at all, an OS X one or a Linux one...

I suggest out of ink, check you removed all the "stickers" on the ink that * need * to be removed to work properly and make sure that the ink properly. Print the pattern check nozzles and then to make sure that everything is installed properly:
Make sure that the power is turned on.
Load a sheet of A4 or letter paper format in the front tray.
Open the output tray extension, open the paper output tray, and then extend the output paper support.
Print the nozzle check pattern.
(1) press on the button in Maintenance for poster has.
(2) press the color or black.
The ground of review of the nozzle will print.
Review the rationale for control of the nozzle.

Canon i865 printer does not print black using Vista
On my Xp computer the canon i865 printer works perfectly, however this computer is old and regularly stops. My son had his old computer that uses Vista, but the printer will not print at best, black. According to microsoft, the printer is compatible and I downloaded the recommended driver, tried to intervene on the settings, uninstalled and installed several times, etc.

Canon i850 printer shared by Windows XP and Win7 does not print the entire page
I've just updated my Vista laptop to Windows 7 as a place to upgrade. All migrated without problem except this shared printer. I downloaded the updated driver from MS download the catalog and the Win 7 Add the fron Canon pack I have installed in that order. The printer is connected to the desktop from Win XP to USB and is configured as a shared printer. Windows 7 sees the printer and also its status but print a test page prints only the windows of the flag in the upper left corner of the rest of the page is empty. Print directly to the printer under Win XP works perfectly. All ideas are welcome. Thank you.
Well, I've had sorted it here's what I did:
Removed all instances of canon i850 of devices and printers in Win 7.Rebooted, and then at the Run prompt run this command, "Printui/s/t2" without the quotes... Removed the i850 canon drivers and packages, then restarted again. Then I turned on the printer and plugged into a USB port on the computer to Win7... It installed the driver for me to Windows Update and a USB driver. I then added a printer shared in devices and printers selected local printer and set up the port as: \\xp computer name\share name\. I chose the same driver in the list that was created previously Setup USB canon i850... Restarted then installed the Canon Add / on module: aomwin110ea23us.exe. Restarted again... NOW, I CAN PRINT!

On my laptop Dell Studio 1555 with 32-bit Windows Vista Premium (with SP2), as soon as I connect, I get an error "the application BTTray.exe does not able to initialize correctly. Click OK to terminate the application". Then another pop-up window appears the error information. After awhile, it prompts you to close the program. This happened since I updated the Bluetooth Widcom software from the DELL Web site. I tried to uninstall the software and put it back in place for the DVD that comes with the laptop. But that did not help.
Yesterday, when I tried to connect to the remote Citrix server, so I was able to work remotely, I got the same error for the software Citrix, "the application failed to initialize properly wfcrun32.exe. Click OK to complete the program." Then another pop-up window appears the error information. After awhile, it prompts you to close the program.
My colleague, who also has a laptop with Vista home is able to connect to Citrix without any error. He said he did a lot of configuration changes in the security features in vista.

However the other day I updated my software and I now el capitan 10.11.4 where as before I had 10.11.2
That's why its not working?

Not going to get a new printer, simply because this stupid computer does not print on it!
Here are a few screenshots of what happens when I try to print as well as in the printer set up.
First, verify that the printer is set as default in system preferences > printers and Scanners. If so, right click on the printer and select Reset Printing System and restart your Mac.
If still no success, re - install the printer driver. This almost always works.
BTW, when you see that this printer is not connected, it means that the USB cable is disconnected.
