    Hello

I'm new in the world of photography, using my Canon EOS 600 d for these past two years. I have turned off later just started shooting in RAW (.) CR2) format, mainly RAW + L. What I see is that all my CR2 files have a blackish tone added to them over the same JPEG formats. All images are all taken in manual mode.

I think that Picasa is your problem.  All RAW converters are different.  Mr. Martin is correct to a point, but most of the converters apply the settings that you have made in your camera in a tag file.  This is how a RAW file can even be posted. Otherwise, you can not view a RAW file.  IMHO, Adobe is the best RAW converter.  It is a view shared by photographers professionals and laboratories.  You can certainly use PLR as your RAW converter.  After all, it's own Canon, and it's free.  But I recommend you get one of the programs Adobe Photoshop Elemets 6 Lightroom or Photoshop full blown.

Even some of the free converters are better than Picasa.  GIMPshop for example or Darktable (Mac).

Remember that it is always better to get the right settings in the camera rather than rely on the post to do.  ACR 9 will apply these settings for beginners.

  • Images showing red blue spot and they are not sharp at all - Canon EOS 600 d

    Hello

A month ago I bougth Canon EOS 600 D with 18-55 mm and 55-250 mm lens and everything is fine I capture images of the Moon and wildlife photography.

But now I am facing a problem with it.

Recently, I tried to capture pictures with my Canon EOS 600 d and suddenly, I noticed that the pictures are not sharp at all and the images show task red and blue. I don't know what to do I'm just an ammature in the present.

Please can someone help me with this problem.

It is chromatic aberration, it's a type of distortion that exists in all optical components to a certain extent, but varies depending on the lens.  In general, the less expensive lenses will be more CA, especially something like the kit lenses.  You'll notice more in high contrast situations, like a brilliant white on a black background.  You can fix it to a certain extent in post with programs like Lightroom or Photoshop.

  • He had to find bag for Canon Flash 600 EX - RT flsh unit

I have my backpack from Tamrac Expedition 7 x and the Tamrac Velocity 7 x cross body bag.  I'm trying to find an external flash Pocket that fits my 600 Speedlight EX - RT external flash, which I got on eBay for a fraction of the price of Adorama and B & H camera & Video.  Almost, I'll have to look for a lens case, as none of the lflash good Tamrac bags it.

    Any suggestions?  Much appreciated!

Thanks for your helpful reply.  I just hope that it works for my 7 x Velocity Tamrac backpack.

  • Automatic Analyzer cannot analyze generated from images of Canon EOS600d RAW JPG

I recently turned to the digital SLR Canon EOS 600 d. I used to monitor itself my photos in elements, but somehow PES 9 refuses to do on my new images. PSE shows me the message "autoanalyzer jumped one or more files because of the potential error". I can view/edit images without any problems.

I generated the JPG images using the latest version of Adobe Bridge and the latest version of Canon's RAW codec.

No idea what could be the problem?

You can check the dimensions of your images? because the automatic Analyzer ignores the more pictures of 4000 x 4000. If images of your camera Canon a dimension larger than this, then I think that auto Analyzer will not analyze them.

How can I print a contact address in OS X El Capitan in a font that is large enough to read?

    WW,

After selecting 'Print' your printer should offer print size options. Even my old Canon MP 600 has the choice of "Regular/Large. Because these options differ between different models of printers, I can't provide specific parameters.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus Scan quality issue

    Hello

I just set up my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, and everything seems to work properly.  I am really disappointed by the quality of the images so, so I thought I'd see if anyone has experienced the same problem?

The scanned images are very dynamic, but are too.  Detail is lost in the scan either because the brightness, or because the scanner is not properly using the resolution I have him ask to scan (600 dpi).  I have tried various different brightness and contrast settings in the scan dialog, nothing helps.  Printing HP and Scan Doctor reported no problem.  Increase the resolution of scanning on the 8600 is not helped either.

I joined a segment of an image of the 8600 and a lot cheaper all-in-one I expected to replace, a canon mp630.  I have bought the 8600 because the scanner component had good reviews, but based on my experience, that I'm starting to have my doubts!

Please let me know if you think there's nothing I can do to improve the quality of the scans?

    I use Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit.

    Thank you

    Pete

8600 scan 600 dpi (Note lack of paper grain)

Canon MP630, 600 dpi (capture of paper grain, wash the details)

Unfortunately, I must point out that the replacement was no better.  It's a real shame, old flat scanner HP I was replacing with the ACM was high quality, but the Pro 8600 scanner was simply not enough good.

Ultimately I exchanged for another manufacturer MFP that produces a large part analysis better (even if printing is not as good).

I had much rather have paid more for a higher quality scan on the HP, but this option is not available to me, which is a shame!  On the 8600 Pro scan color reproduction was great, but there not only to capture the details.

You can adjust for color problems in the software, but if the detail is not captured, you can't put it in!

  • DSLRs not visible in the Photo (Lightroom & EOS Utility) applications

Digital SLR cameras are not visible in Lightroom/tethered capture or EOS Utility, but at the same time the memory card in the camera is accessible through Windows Explorer. The same happens at least with Canon EOS 600 and Nikon D800. Both cameras are supported by applications and Windows 7 are without problems. Both applications are Windows 8 compatible, it is the only feature that I found works is not in Windows 8, so far. It seems that Windows Explorer keeps the camera (or memory card) as long as his private property and are not let other applications to use.

Both applications try to control the camera. Is there a setting or other workaround for this?

    Hello

From your problem description, I understand that you want to know why the digital SLR cameras are not visible in Lightroom/tethered capture. Please let me know if you do not experience this problem.

There is no information on the Canon EOS 600 but the Nikon d 800 is compatible. I suggest you to check the Web site of the manufacturer for updates for the camera. If no update is present, I suggest you to contact CANON or NIKON Support.

Hope this information is helpful and let us know if you need help with Windows in the future. We will be happy to help.

  • Pe11: Audio VERY loud or distorted after export

    Hello.

Please excuse my bad English. I hope you understand everything.

Since a few days I use Adobe Premiere elements 11. Still works great, despite the audio after the export of a video.

When editing, everything is normal. I have set the volume to my tastes. But after export, everything is way to loud and distorted.

So far I was able to solve the problem with turning down the volume - 30db for the soundtrack and - 15db for the comment.

Like this, the export is very good. But in the editing window, watching the preview, I don't hear anything. Also if I use the automatic adjustment (Bo = background noise, comment = foreground) everything is distorted even more (although I really want to use this feature, because the workflow would be so much more faster/easier)

This is not what I expected. It's just a bad workflow. I want to hear/see the final result before exporting it. In addition, the video easily deforms, when beeing adjusted contrast, brightness, etc (also only after export. looks fine in preview). BTW, I do not do before exporting it.

I'm doing something wrong? How can I solve this problem?

    Camera: Canon T3i (600 d) (full HD 24 p)

Comment: Vote on Samsung rating 2 (Zoom H1) soon

    Soundtrack: MP3s (high quality)

I tried export Flash (youtube) and mpeg. No difference.

I hope you can help me.

    Greetings

    Thanks for your reply.

That's what I was doing at the end.

I tried judging with speakers, and headphones. both with the same result.

before PE11, I edited the same audio in windows movie maker, and I never had problems like that.

Setting the tone and then by looking at the meter to lower the overall volume.

I just thought that there was a way, to hear the result before exporting it.

  • Why is my not well aligned CfaPattern

    Hello world

I am currently working on a piece of software that needs to read the DNG raw image data. Everything seems to work fine except for one bad thing:

    CfaRepeatPatternDim is: 2, 2

    The file CfaPattern is: 0, 1, 1, 2 (R, G, G, B)

    CfaPlaneColor is: 0, 1, 2 (R, G, B)

    CfaLayout is: (rectangular) 1

So I guess the sensor data is as follows:

    R G R G R G ...

    G B G B G B ...

    ...

But the resulting image was completely false colors (way too green, unable to rebuild the original colors of mixture of channels)

I figured out that the image looks right when you use a CfaPattern 1, 0, 2, 1

    G B G B G B ...

    R G R G R G ...

    ...

    What did I miss?

Some othe values that might help:

    ImageWidth: 5344

    ImageLength: 3516

    ActiveArea: 51, 142, 3516, 5344

    DefaultCropOrigin: 10/1 5/1

    DefaultCropSize: 3456 5184: 1: 1

    Model: Canon EOS 600 d

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes, the CFAPattern is defined relative to the active area.  Areas of the image to the outside that are hidden.

I think this is mentioned in the section "PhotometricInterpretation' in the DNG specification: the origin of the motif repeated the CFA is the upper-left corner of the rectangle ActiveArea.»

  • Canon 600 d - should my blurry viewfinder without a purpose is fixed? I have the body of cam

As says the topic, I have a Canon 600 d or Canon eos Rebel t3i and I'm worried because I can't find all the information in the user manual any where on the net about the question to know if I'd see a clear picture in the viewfinder of my camera when no lens is fixed.  I had enough $ buy the body of the camera until now and I don't have a goal, and I don't know anyone with a DSLR camera question on this subject.  Sorry, this may sound a stupid question - maybe I'm not supposed to be able to clearly see the images in the viewfinder without an AF lenses or another kind have the lens attached to the camera?  I just wanted to know for sure if this unit has a serious problem, before I go ahead and buy a goal for her.  Thanks in advance to anyone who has the time to clear this for me, if you would like more information about me ill will be happy to give let more just me know what you need.  Sorry I'm a super beginner when it comes to high-end cameras

If my viewfinder cameras is not supposed to look that way without objective and this issue is not caused by the glass, then what else could be causing this problem?  Maybe I'm getting ahead.  I guess I'm just worried, that I have been ripped off when I bought this camera now.

You won't see anything through the viewfinder of any SLR (i.e. the T3i, obviously) without a lens mounted. In fact, you should never take the body Cap out of the unit except to mount a lens. Leaving off the coast is a good way to attract the dust on the mirror or the sensor.

  • Flash Canon 600 EX - Speedite RT - flash using testfire erratic power

    Hello

For a photography assignment, I had to use an off-camera flash (using the testfire) to capture the different poses of a subject during a long exposure.

However, by pressing the button testfire produced variable results:

    1. the subject was reasonably informed.

    2. the power of the Flash was weak, leading to a very underexposed subject

    3. the test button would not fire at all.

Now, the obvious cause of this erratic behavior would be batteries to be replaced. However battery replacement (using brand batteries good long life) does not solve the problem.

If someone else has countered this problem and if so, is there a solution?

    Kind regards

W, which has no such assignment

When you trigger the test button, the amount of energy it will draw depend on the mode and the settings of the flash.

Mode you are using (manual or E - TTL) and if manual, what power level you have set (for example 1/1 = full, but there is also a 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.)

If give you him a burst of full power in manual mode, you have to wait for the flash to recycle the capacitors before it is ready to fire again.  The capacitors are a bit like rechargeable batteries except for the rate at which you can drain a battery is somewhat limited and a capacitor can pour out his incredibly fast energy.  How flash actually works is to have the batteries to recharge the capacitors until it has enough fire power, and then the power of the flash capacitors (because they can send a power tip to the strobe light).

Most people tend to use E-TTL/E-TTL II mode - or - they use it in manual mode (M).  But there are other modes.

If you want to manually control the flash for your situation, then press the "Mode" button repeatedly until you see the "M", displayed in the upper left corner of the LCD screen (now you are in "Manual" mode and the flash will always fire at the same power level in E - TTL mode, it will try to automatically detect the amount of energy uses and many things can give you varying results because frankly) You asked the flash to automatically detect and vary the power level).

Manual mode is only half the fun... now press the soft key under the LCD panel around the "+/-" and allows you to control the power level.  By default it will pull at full power (1/1).  But you can now turn the wheel to reduce the power level (and you probably want to reduce the power level because 1/1 is a lot of power.)   For example... maybe 1/8 power would be more reasonable... or maybe 1/4 power.

But the other reason to use the manual mode is once you set the power level, it will ALWAYS trigger with the same amount of power (until you change.)

Remember that when you use the manual flash, flash has a 'falling' effect that causes the light seems less intense if the flash is farther or closer to the object.  This is what we call the 'inverse rule of the square law' and it's a law of Physics (not do around him - sorry.)  This means that if you want your subject to get uniform illumination so not only you must use the "manual" mode and set it to a specific for every time... power level but the flash itself must be at the same distance from the subject (if the subject moves... then you need to Flash for the maintenance of this uniform for each shot distance.)

  • Choose the good speedlite Canon 6 d and Nikon D 80

Hello world. Please bear with me, I'm new on this.

I went nuts online reading on choosing THE right speedlite for my camera (s). And I'm more confued as never before to ask if your advice.

    I have the following bodies:

Canon 6 d (currently with 24-70 MM lens, you are looking to invest in a zoom super large and super telephoto in the future)

Nikon D 80 (18-135 mm and 50 mm lens block)

Using flash for me: I want to use it as a master, claw mounted, is thus also distance away if necessary. You want to use to fill, studio, night photography work.

My maximum work is with the 6 d. I use the Nikon D 80 but often. Finally, I would like to make the wisest choice, as my budget is between $ 200 and $500.

    (1) I'm caught between the purchase of a Canon speedlite dedicated and buy a flash which is used on the two bodies and my wider lenses.

    (2) I read that the most powerful currently available for Canon speedlite is the 600 EX - RT his broader coverage corresponds to the focal length of 28 mm and upwards.

Are there any other generic speedlites that don't cost the Earth and have a broader coverage with the same force as the 600 EX - RT?

    (3) OR foregoing, moreover, are a generic model that will as well on the nikon and canon?

    Appreciate your time and advice,

    Samy

    Samy

Of course, only you can balance your desires/needs against your budget, but it seems that you intend to take the 6 D your battle horse and expect professional results with it, this is where to put your money.  Generic and unique for all made compromises now will be usually exact a price in the form of frustration and disappointment still on the line.  For your intended use and expected results, I would recommend biting teeth and go with the RT 600EX for the 6 d and a low price Nikon (recommended) or generic flash for the D80.  I would advise looking at material of opportunity to save money, but some years ago, I did it with a couple of flashes Nikon SB-26, from two different suppliers, only to discover that the reason why they were on the market was because motorized zoom mechanisms were worn.  At the moment where I've had have been renovated, I was in a bit of money to have bought new.  Since then, I was simply not a fan of the gear used.

    Good luck!

    Kind regards

    Ted

  • Question about 600 EX - RT and compatibility 5DmkII

I'm sure this has been covered a hundred times already, but I saw myself in confusion on the subject. So I thought I just ask the community.  I decided that I want to redo my lighting set 'location' by removing some of my portable flashes because compared to the Speedlite flashes, they are not so portable. I recently bought a single 600 EX RT to get a feel for it. Less a hick-up with the zoom lens on a lens, the flash worked well for what I asked of it.

I want to do is put two 600 in a soft box or an umbrella and use a third party to fill or light, depending on the conditions of the rim.  When it comes to strobes and flash, I still prefer the manual mode.  So, after a bit of reading from the book of the Syl arena and watch his videos of B & H, I also acquired the OCF 32' ETTL cord train he uses. It works very well for the unit.

All I want is to get three, maybe four 600, in manual mode, but they fire to powers selected manually. I can continue to use the E - TTL cord, but finally, I would like to be able to use the STE-3.  I'm near the top of the proverbial Creek here because I am using a 5dMkII?

    Hello Nolaphoto1,

When you use an EOS 5 d Mark III, transmitter Speedlite ST - E3 and Speedlite 600EX RT, you can manually control the ratio.  Separate you the Speedlites three groups and then set a ratio for each.  They will all still get wireless in this configuration.
