Capacity lost as .mp3 files Media Player don't play no sound on Windows Media Player

the title is just the beginning. I lost ALL my music of reading skills in ALL my programs. Media Player, VLC Quicktime ect.

the sound works off the cd drive, the sound works in all other aspects, the system sounds and games. and even more strange, the files I burn on a game cd, but the files in the folder the original file is not without any difference other than the source. Copy an MP3 to a cd and he plays but is not the same file on the hard drive.

Why in the world can't change the shape of Microsoft codec pack? or reinstall media player as I used to?

the root of the problem found:

apparently the folder I have access to has been damaged and the folder and trees inside with the files come with a total area of ZERO kb.

soemthign files corrupted and which was causign disorders. "(

still, the question remains: why not microsoft offers a codec package for their own media player?

the world may never know...

Thank you for your time and your interest.

  • I had to reinstall my Windows Vista and lost my MP3 files. Can I get back them?

When a microsoft technical specialist removed a malware from my computer, I couldn't launch my Internet Explorer.   I decided to re - install Windows Vista on mine.  It only gives me the possibility of repairing the existing files. When I re-installed Windows Vista my old files were put into a file called Windows.old.  All of my music (MP3) files are on Windows.old?  Is it possible for me to get those files and put them on Windows Media Player?  And these files now contamination or damaged because of previous malware attack?

  • VOB files don't play no not in Windows Media Player

I have several DVD that have been copied to my hard drive.  When attempting to open the .vob files, I use Windows Media player.  WMP opens, then closes while PowerDVD DX opens.  Nothing happens at this point.  Looking through the forums and search on the internet I can't find a solution that works.

    Hello jtrall, welcome.

It seems that WMP (Windows Media Player) is given to the task of playing the. VOB to PowerDVD files because of several possible reasons:

1 PowerDVD is set as default program for reading VOB file
2 WMP cannot find a proper way to play the VOB file
    3. missing Codecs or other program incompatibilities

In order to diagnose the problem and find a solution, we will need to know:

1A Windows Media Player never been able to play the VOB files before?
    2. what version of Windows Media Player are you running?

You should be able, as a temporary workaround, use PowerDVD as the DVD playback software. If you start PowerDVD, and then click File > Open (or something similar) you will be able to select the source of the DVD files that are VOB files stored on your computer.

Send us the above information and we can go from there

    Thank you!

  • My Windows Media Player will play the video of an MPG file, but it will not play the sound. What is the cause?

I do video editing.  I transferred my camera video file and Windows Media Player played the video and audio very well at the beginning.  I edited the file with editing software and exported the file again.  Now, the sound will not play using WMP but it will play if I use video editing software.

As a result, I've uploaded new files from the camera and now WMP not give me sound on those either.  If something seems to be affected by my WMP.  Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

    Hi rgosmond,

    (a) don't you get any specific error message when you play the video?

    (b) what is the file format of the resulting video file after editing by using the video editing software?

    (c) you are able to play the files on the computer? You hear the sound?

I suggest you try the following steps:

O make sure that windows MediaPlayer is not muted, press F7 on the keyboard to turn the sound back on.

Ø check if the volume is at a minimum in Media Player, press F9 on the keyboard to increase the volume.

Verify that the default audio device is correctly set

    1. click on start, type Sound in the box to start the search.

    2. click on sound in the results of search at the top of the start menu.

    3. click on the tab reading notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is speakers. Make sure that the audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:

    4. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, close this window to return to the previous window.

    5. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click on configure and make sure that the configurations are set correctly.

    6. If the sound settings are well positioned, you are using speakers as the audio device and your speakers are already set as the default device, go to method 5 now.

    7. Select the audio device you want as the default audio device and then click on set as default.

    8. click OK to save your settings and close the sound dialog box.

Now, check if the problem is resolved.

When I try to play music on Spotify it tells me that there is a problem with the sound card. I ordered a USB sound card to see if that fixed it, but it did not turn.

    George,

  • No sound in windows media player (11.0.6002.18111) only trying to play mp3 files. No way of fixing/uninstallation or reinstallation. Need advice!

I recently encountered a problem with Windows Media Player 11 (a specific version in the title of the topic) where no sound play atall when you try to play mp3 files. When trying to play a track of the progress indicator moves VERY slowly and jumps in a stuttering mode and no sound whatsoever is coming through the speakers. He is a recent problem.

All audio files work on other audio programs like Real player, quick time e.t.c. and the sound comes from the computer normally. Only the sound that I have are with windows media player when you try to play mp3 files. Still fine read video files, wav files play fine. How boring is that he suddenly decided he likes are more mp3 files!

More annoying, I stumbled upon the fact that I can't uninstall the reader as in Vista, it is part of the operating system literal, I can't download and install WMP install package from Microsoft because I tried and it tells me that I have a more recent version of Windows media player and therefore impossible to use the downloaded Setup program to install or repair windows media player. It is therefore impossible for me to get an installation package that is newer than the one on the computer, you would have thought that the downloadable installation on the microsoft Web site would be the more recent but no!

I can't think of a way to solve this problem. For me it feels strongly a Codec issue to do with MP3 and WMP but I don't really know about Codecs enough to go on the setting of the specific Codec with the question, or even track down which codec it is perhaps whether she "is" a codec problem in the first place.

I tried settings with the menu of options in WMP 11 troubleshooting unsuccessful (obviously), I also tried an audio tool / repair of breakdowns than microsfts audio troubleshooting prompted me to try, that of no problems with the actual audio devices on the system... I KNOW, his problem with WMP and mp3 files!

So, to summarize, WMP doesn't read MP3 files, I can't run a repair tool that there is no 'installation' to WMP 11 package, it is not an uninstall utility is which means that I can't uninstall it to reinstall a new, I can't download the installation package and run it as apparently I have a more current version than is available on the microsoft Web site. Then what should I do?

I need some advice on how to go about trying to solve this problem I've hit a bit of a brick wall...

Any advice would be much appreciated!

    FIXED!

randomly enough rate and bit depth format sample somehow has set high in the sound control panel, advanced driver.

After hitting "restore defaults" it resets the depth of rate and little sample return at: 16 bit 44.1 khz

    The sound now plays perfectly.

Weird it performs only mp3 files!

Thanks for the help people, it seems that I ended up sorting out on my own though! Yay for me! haha

  • No way to stop the WMP open everytime I open a new mp3 file?

Basically I've recently upgraded from Vista to 7, under Vista, you have WMP in a minimal State, and whenever you double clicked on an mp3 file, it would come with a small bar showing the piece played, now whenever I do it on Windows 7 it open WMP in a State of full screen , which is a bit annoying because I'm obviously not not using mp3 files for Visual stimulation.

So is there no way to make him stay in a minimized state when you open a new mp3 file is basically my question.

    Locate the Windows Media Player

Right-click on the icon and select Properties...

Go to the "run" box and select 'reduced '.

    Apply then OK...

He must now do what you want... :-)

  • Convert a text into an MP3 file in the Alex voice?

    Hello world

Is it possible to convert a text file to an MP3 file in the Alex voice on the iPad or Windows PC?  Apparently, this can be done on the Mac.

I use the Alex voice to read the text all the time on my iPad, and I would like to be able to save the text as an MP3 file so that I can play on other devices (for example, iPod, Windows PCs).  So far I could not find built into the functionality of the iPad or iPad app that would allow me to do.  I also was not able to find any program for Windows PC that does this.

I found various programs that convert text into MP3 files (for example, TextAloud3, Voice Reader home 15, etc.), but I like the Alex voice much more than the voice in these programs, so I really hope that there is a way to do it on the iPad or Windows PC.

Thank you in advance for your help!

N ° you can't do on an iPad. I don't think there's a way to do it on a Windows PC since voice is the property of Apple, as far as I know.

Any ideas?  A short code snippet would be useful.

    Thank you...

Once I deleted the supply line and exchanged files wav of mp3 files it started working.  It looks like you can not combine wav files.

If you have a music video, your friends sing you could install a flash drive on the Web site. If it is just an audio file, you must download the file to a file free host then post a link to the file on the Web site.  If Windows Media Player comes into play depends on what media player the person clicking the link used as their default media player. Windows Media Player will play no role in the file on your website. The link below contains a list of free audio files, hosting sites. There are many others that you can find with a simple search on Google.

  • Media Player play the MP3 files but not others

My OS is XP and I'm using Media Player 11.

In my WM library, I downloaded several music files.  Most are MP3 files.  Some will play, but others do not.  When I look at those who don't in properties, I see the length of play is 0:00.  As far as I know, I have all codecs updated but cannot be sure 100% bee.

Can someone please tell me in words of one syllable preference (I'm technophile worse of the world) if they know of a cure.

    Steve

Looks like the files are corrupted. Do you know how they were created originally?

You will probably need to re - download or re - extract the files. If this isn't an option, you can search the Web for MP3 repair tool, but there is no guarantee that the repair will work. Tim Baets

  • Invisible MP3 files in Windows Media Player

After a registry cleanup, I ended up in a strange situation. Windows Media Player 11 will play MP3 very well, if I double click on an MP3 file in Windows Explorer to the media player will start and play the file.

If however in Media Player, I open a file I don't see any MP3 file, if the file type is defined for media files (all types). In the drop-down menu, I don't see a type of MP3 file. If I select all the MP3s files are displayed and can be read.

Where and how can I reset the media player will identify the types of media?

    Thanks in advance!

    OK, I found the problem!

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Extensions the following is missing:

    In the Descriptions:

1 file REG_SZ Audio (*.wav; *.snd; *.au; *.aif; *.aifc; *.aiff; *.wma; *.mp3)

    In MUIDescriptions:

    1 REG_EXPAND_SZ @%SystemRoot%\system32\unregmp2.exe,-9995

    In Types:

1 REG_SZ *.wav; *.snd; *.au; *.AIF; *.aifc; *.AIFF; *.WMA; *.MP3

I found these comparing entries to those for the 32-bit version of media player. After that I added these entries media player launched recognizing MP3s again!

  • MEDIA PLAYER for .mp3 files and download and play .asx files old version of the weekly radio program

I quite often download or listen to a radio show which is broadcast live every Sunday morning and the program is available to download (mp3 file) or listen to (asx file) until the new program is broadcast a week later.  I have rarely listen to the program when it is broadcast live, but sometimes listen live on other programs of that station with no problems.

Last week I downloaded last week program and everything was ok.  Today, I downloaded program yesterday (February 24) and he started to play with an introduction to the program of the weeks previous (February 17).  I asked a friend to try on his computer and he managed to download the latest program with no problems.  So I've established that the radio station is not at fault, but there must be a problem with my Media Player.

So far, I updated Windows Media Center the default player for each type of file (with file association) and it did not work, I followed by assigning Windows Media Player and that had no effect either.  I deleted the files downloaded after every attempt to avoid the player pick up the old file.

Is the association of file replace Autorun settings?

I use Firefox as my browser but you have tried Google Chrome, and the result is the same, IE. last weeks program times.

I don't know what else to try so would appreciate your help.
