• Captivate 8 - click boxes and bar of the player when shooting in 'Training' mode

  Whenever I have the movie in training mode I have the settings so that the click boxes will be automatically added to the project; However, every time that I read the slides that have the auto added click boxes, of the Player bar does not appear. I then manually replace the auto added boxes. When this is done, the Player bar reappears.  Looks like a lot of effort. Any ideas?

  It is a design logical for me, if it were not the case I would disable the PlayBar manually. If you have a PlayBar, the user can simply rub with the progress bar and not learn anything at all. Training assume they can only progress when after completing action on each slide, either by clicking on a location or type a text in BER.

• How can I add a click box to a slide of film?

  I created a movie cptx in captivate. How can I add a summary in the slides and add hyperlinks for users to go to other parts of the presentation?

  If by "Summary", you are referring to the Quiz results slide, this can be added via the checkbox under Quiz > Quiz Preferences > settings > display the Score at the end of the Quiz.

  In 6 Captivate, you can add hyperlinks to the text in the active forms.  Previous versions of Captivate do not have native ability to hyperlink, but can add this via a hyperlink Widget:

  If you just need a way to click on an element of command and navigate to another slide, you can do this with any button in Captivate or click box.  Just look for the icon clickbox and button in the toolbar on the left side of the workspace, or go to insert > Standard objects > Clickbox (or button).  Configuring the action WE click to move to the slide and specify the slide in the menu dropdown.

• Captivate 6 is overwhelming when inserting click boxes and other issues

  Desperately need help because I have never seen something like this.  I use 6 Captivate in the workplace and have not run on a question like that in the 9 years I've used the Captivate.

  Captivate will not open all new projects (800 x 600 or 640 x 480 etc..)  Nothing happens.  When I open the 1024 x 768 (the size of the project I used last year), a new project opens, but when I try to add a click box, I get an error message "a fatal error has occurred and the application is completed.»  Adobe Captivate, tried to put all your work in the respective project in the form of files "cpbackup" files  Please restart Captivate.  Only, this has happened for a week.

  When a colleague or employee of IT connects to my computer under their profile, Captivate works very well for them.  I went to another office of co-workers who Captivate and when I connect to his computer under my profile, I have the same problem, so we thought that my work profile was corrupt.  HE set up a new profile 2 times, I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 or 4 times and nothing works.  We are on a network but Captivate is installed on my c: drive and I save all my files on the c: drive.

  The strange thing is if can open the files I've worked on this last year (there are up to 2 weeks), they are great and I can insert click without any problem areas.  Sometimes, just when I try to create a new file.

  We have to work Adobe volume licenses so I can't call and get support and none of us can understand it.  I would be very grateful for the help!

• Captivate 7 - several boxes click does not

  I would really appreciate some help on this. I have read the forums and it seems that this appears again and again. I tried some of the solutions, but I can't seem to make it work.

  I have a slide with 8 boxes on it. I would like to for the user to click on the box and then get a definition in the form of a text box. I wish they were able to click on the box 1 or all the boxes before moving. I would like for them to choose to spend with a "Continue" button that goes to the next slide.

  On reading the preview, only 3 or 4 boxes to click will work. Then, the boxes to click on stop working. This isn't the same 3 or 4 boxes, but just the first that work. If I take a break on the button continue, it will work. In the contrary case, it stops as well.

  At first, I tried to do this as a simple action. Then I read that the advanced Actions will allow playback to continue. The peak Action is 1 line Show and then the text box.

  Here is my calendar. I would appreciate help with this!

• Advanced action not updated on the click box update

  I inherited a model with a quiz with boxes made from boxes to click. In its current form, the user can cilck the button submit without clikcking on any of the 6 boxes (not an ideal situation for a trial).

  I created variables for all click areas and associated with 0 (set checkbox 1 with 0... etc.).

  In the in the slide, I have on enter slide Execute advanced Actions, I have AND of statements indicating that if the checkbox is = to 0, then hide and disable the button send... and I am doing this for all the checkboxes (if checkbox1 = 0 AND checkbox2 = 0... etc.). I then an Else, indicating to display and activate the submit button.

  In the clickbox I have when it is activated (there's a box for clicked and clicked not), I put the variable checkbox to 1 between 0... that means that the advanced Actions 'should' be updated with the new variable to 1, but it does not work.

  I think it has something to do with the click boxes because it seems to stall the reading head and not continue to run the advanced Actions. It's my guess only as that is the question.

  Removal of variables is possible in Captivate 9, not in previous versions. Even in CP9 that it's always a bit tricky, some variables seem is always 'used' so that they do not.

• Captivate 7: entry boxes not showing captions failure when the bad input.

  Hello.  I'm under Captivate 7.0.1.237 on a PC with IE 9 as my default browser.

  Something has changed in the text entry areas (TEBs) and the way that they validate.  It was think I would enter several options validation of the user and, if the user didn't enter one of the correct entries in the BER my failure message would come by telling them what to enter.

  This is not the case, instead, when I have to go to the next slide BER, the project advances to the next slide if they have input a correct answer or not.  I can type any kind of junk in BER and I get no legend of failure.

  At this point, I change my TEBs for the following parameters have experimented and added a box to click with the shortcut tab (because that's how the application that I am a teacher moves a field to) the value, but the problem still occurred. Earlier in the project, I had shortcuts to my TEBs defined in the tab, but that's when I noticed the problem:

  

  

  

  I only put my BER close to the top of my calendar because I had problems with the click boxes do not display failure messages when they were farther down in the timeline panel.  They are now on top.

  Ah... so Captivate is a large junk covered oak desk.  Well, that explains why I never find anything in Captivate 8!  I bet it's got drawers full of "features" hidden and bugs are just woodworm.

• How to implement responses of pass/fail for two click boxes on the screen a simulation?

  I'm creating an assessment of simulation using Captivate 7. On a single screen (as shown below), I need to put in place two boxes click (highlighted yellow) so that the user can click on one of them to continue to the next slide. But I had a question on how to set up the success and Fail responses for each, click area. If the answer to failure for the two boxes to click is enabled, the user will receive one or two responses Fail no matter where they click. Disabling the failure responses? If the user clicks on the other areas that the two click boxes, no action or reaction occurs and the user will think the simulation is frozen or crashed. All the solutions for this problem? • Need content of 1 click box to disappear when you click New click box

  I have a slide that contains three areas of click.  When the user clicks on a form additional information appears.  I want the slide so when they click on a new box click, then the contents of the box another click no longer appears.  Otherwise, the content overlaps and it's messy.

  I have 7.0 Captivate.

  Notice the different boxes overlap, like I can't understand to hide the old, when the user clicks on a new.

  

  I hope that you have set the settings properly, don't see that.

  It is not the click box to be rendered invisible, because it means there is not and can not have all the features. You must make the invisible text bubbles.

• Slide the Progression with click box

  Hi-

  I am currently working with Captivate 6 and my tutorial requires the user to click in a certain area and then pre generated text appears, so I used a click box.  Problem is, I want the slide then progress on its "own and it won't because I used the box click."  Please help if anyone know a work around for it!

  Welcome to the Adobe Forums!

  Under that click Properties could have checked "to Pause project until user clicks on. Therefore, once the user clicks on the box click slide progresses and should view other items later in the timeline panel or go to the next slide.

  Please make sure that there is no other area of click or interactive object such as button or smart shape used as a button on the slide (with a break enabled until the click), or check if there is no action on the exit of the slide.

• Showing the number of clicks box - Variable not updated

  I use Adobe Captivate 6. I have a slide in my presentation which is a photograph. All around the photograph, I placed the boxes click with legends of success. Users must click on the areas of photography to identify problems. I want to display a counter to show if they have identified all the clickable areas, but my formulas do not work. Here's what I have:

  I identified a user variable 'count_total' is equal to 0.

  On each click box, the success that I am running the advanced standard action "inc_count_total" which is the expression: count_total = count_total + 1.

  My legend text has the words: you have found items of $$ $$ count_total.

  On the preview, in the text box, I see, "you found 0 items." But by clicking on the boxes click does not increase the total amount. What I am doing wrong?

  Have you tried box to uncheck the 'Pause for success/failure captions' in the box click Properties? This will update your variable on the click, rather than wait until the legend complete to display.

• Click Box - jump slide error

  Captivate v5.5

  I put a box click slide 1 to allow users of my "Skip Intro" (slides 1-4) and move on to slide 5.

  While the click box jumps to slide 5 - audio from slide 1 continuous instead of audio on 5.

  I tried to use a button (instead of click box) and that works very well - but problem with the help of a button is, I want to slide 1 to continue to slip etc. 2 by itself if the learner do not click 'Skip Intro '.

  Does anyone have any suggestions, it could be the cause.

  Click on the button, go to the Properties tab > Timing accordion and uncheck the break after.  Then the button is paused not the slide.

  Also see the options in the accordion Audio to stop slide Audio when clicked.  Who can help your other problem with the sound continues to play.

• Failed attempts for click boxes

  I'm curious as if there is a way to create failure for the areas of click, in the same way, they are available for question slides?

  Here's a possible workflow:

  • Created 3 click boxes, same size, same place (is possible in the COP6, I forgot to ask the version you use): CB_1, CB_2, CB_3 that the first of them is visible, the visibility is checked for CB_2 and CB_3
  • Boxes click 1 attempt, the default action for success 'Go ├a next page' is OK; based on the last attempt, I created an advanced standard action for each click box: Fail1, Fail2, Fail3
  • Have a Failure12 initially unseen text container that will appear for the first two failures. I had the text "Please once again, try $$ v_counter$ $" that v_counter variable user which would indicate the number of the attempt, maybe not necessary?
    
  • For the latest, third failure, I created a "last" of the text a container group two initially invisible objects with the wrong message and a next button (so that the incorrect caption can be read and then the user clicks the button)
  • Fail1 action, triggered by CB_1:
    • Expression v_counter = v_counter + 1 If you do not need to meter, pass it, it will result to Fail1 in a value of 1
    • See the Failure12                                            the text container with the text of the guide
      
    • Hide CB_1
      
    • See the CB_2 then click on the first box is disabled and the second will become functional
  • Fail2 action, triggered by CB_2:
    • Expression v_counter = v_counter + 1 If you do not need the meter, pass it, it will result to Fail2 value 2
    • Hide CB_2
      
    • See the CB_3 then click on the second box is disabled and the third will become functional
  • Fail3 action, triggered by CB_3:

• Use the Click Box several times

  Hi all

  I have seen several posts on very similar topics but I'm looking for advice on my particular problem. I have a slide that contains multiple images. I would like to have the learner click images and an explanation of the image both written and spoken. I finished this ok using the standard box click a speech of fixation to the legend of success on. I would like to provide several opportunities to see the content of the learner. Out of the box, click boxes seem to work only once. I saw a few other messages that refer to advanced actions and the ability to reset the time that the object was used. Can you please direct me to either a lesson on this particular issue, or post a solution here...? I discussed intensively on the internet and found nothing so far. I use 6 Captivate.  Thank you!

• Click Box doesn't take a break?

  I am using Captivate 5.   Very new to him.   I have a series of slides, I want to take a break at the end of each group that they are waitting for a button to click for it to go to the next slide.
  I have added a click box to the slide that is supposed to go to the next slide... it is configured to pause the project until you click.  I got to the end of the button about 2 seconds away from the end of the slide on the time line.
  When I saw the project that he break it passes just to the next slide.  I can't seem to get the break no matter what I do.
  ANY help would be much appreciated.

  If you have no specific setting for your Adobe® Captivate® 5, then you can try to recreate the Captivate 5 preferences:

  (1) close Adobe Captivate 5

  (2) rename the folder 'Captivate 5' in:

  [Windows Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name] \AppData\Local\Adobe folder

  Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\ [user_name] \Local Adobe application folder

  (3) launch Captivate 5 again and try to view your project once again
