Captivate 8 & Adobe Captivate course abandoned companion?

Captivate 6 and ACCC (Adobe Captivate course companion) widget has been very promising for representation quick visual of student data, learning Analytics: how to use them?-part I "Rapid e-Learning | Adobe Captivate Blog . We just jumped to 8 Captivate due the BYOD - function creation to bring your own device. I don't see any options of the ACCC. Widgets are simply not there.

Support for ACCC declined?

Widgets are still there, including A3C, but they are still more occult than in CP7. Insert you of bracket, Widget (they are not in a menu of the button). And they are always located in the gallery under the Captivate installation folder, in contrast to Interactions of training listed in public Documents and are available with the touch of Interactions.

  • Can I download a Captivate course to connect AFTER incorporation of the animations of edge through the App package manager?

    I would like to include animations I've created along the animate and the App package manager, it's pretty easy. However, subsequently, I have a HTML course I can't download on Connect. When I ZIP it I am told by Connect it is an invalid format. Also, when I export a Captivate course as a course of HTML zipped, download it to establish a connection works, but the spinning loader shows indefinitely.

    So in case someone falls on this post with the same question, I discovered a way to sort of do that. I could not yet understand how to download the ZIP file to connect properly, but I could use the Interaction of Web object and load the HTML output to animate dashboard. It's just a folder with a bunch of files and an index file. Everything you do is choose the top-level folder, resize your interaction to fit, and all works well! No need to use the App Pakcager and animations can be inserted anywhere, anytime while you create your project.

  • Captivate course completed not completed in LMS

    Hi all
    I desperately need help! I am a new user to Captivate and have encountered a problem with one of the seven learning modules created for a course. Module 2 is not followed as completed in the LMS. I checked several times to make sure that all settings and configurations for all seven modules are the same. They are!

    The only difference in content is that Module 2 a lot of objects flash, more than three times that of an other six modules. Module 2 does not have any question slide, as all but one of the other modules where. I mention this because when we try to get technical assistance they did ask questions on question slides.

    I ran for this module debug mode in the LMS and also for Module 1, which is successfully completed. What I found, by comparing the information from the debug mode, is that Module 2 is not initialized. LMS hosting provider said us it is a problem of educational support and is not helping find a solution. I compared the HTML files generated by Captivate from the publication process, and they are exactly the same, except for the name of the module.

    I have no idea what to do from here, and I'm under great pressure to find a solution. This is the first course, I created using Captivate.

    Thanks for any help.

    Is there something in the Module 7, which is the subject of a follow-up? It's not * have * to be a
    the question slide. It could just be a button...

I am tryig to display the PDF published because I want to send to my small business for review, but it does not load. It must be published in AICC/HTML5 and there is no quiz info to pass. I tried to delete all pages, several downs thin just to test it, and no work. Even just the title page does not load. • Hyperlink in Captivate courses closed LMS window

    Someone has to meet this problem before?  I created a small pool in Captivate 5.5.  Some slides so that users can connect to and open a long video, we stayed on a hosting service.  When I preview the courses in Captivate, the link works fine.  The website opens and I can run the video.  But when I publish in our LMS (HealthStream) and try to make a link to the video, the LMS window closes immediately without going through the Web site.  This could very well be an LMS issue, but I'm desperate and hoping that someone else ran into this problem with HealthStream or other LMS.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    You have the updated link to open the video link in a new blank browser session or in the same browser?

    One thing to note here is that SCORM course were not initially designed (according to the SCORM standard) to connect outside of the module for all other content.  They are supposed to be completely autonomous units of learning.  Linking outside the SCORM module and open other windows, you can run the risk of disruption of communication with the LMS via the SCORM API.  Maybe that's why your LMS ends the session.  It could interpret your link to the video on the hosting service as a sign that you have finished reviewing the module.

    If the hosted video is FLV or F4V, have you tried streaming in the Captivate module like video slide instead of open it in a new browser session?

  • Captivate course hangs at loading at the launch of LMS

    I applied the fix cpsid_92936 on my Cap 5 installed, but the problem persists.

    Try to check the box in the LMS customization settings to never send the CV database.  Then publish again and download.

    If this resolves the issue, then it was caused by LMS CV data Bookmarking.

  • Galaxy Tablet 10.1 / Android Honeycomb 3.1 will work course Captivate?

    Hello

    Does anyone know if the Samsung Galaxy with Android Honeycomb OS 3.1 10.1 tablet runs Flash Captivate courses?

    I see information about Flash animations, but he will manage the interactive flash courses?

    Thank you

    Dave

    Hi Dave, it does of course. The new Galaxy Tab 10.1 that comes with Honeycomb 3.1 and also with Flash Player 10.3 is able to preserve all interactivity in a Captivate course, including take quizzes and submitting the results to any LMS and Acrobat.com.

    You can watch a video I posted on my Blog, where I show that resembles the experience on a Motorola Xoom, which has the same version of Flash Player that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and OS. • Calling a function in the HTML window that course is located inside - 8 Captivate

    Hello

    I scoured the forums to answer this but still have developed in white.

    Our LMS is launching a course in a pop-up window and inside that the Captivate output file .htm lies.

    Currently this pop-up window has a button that performs a function.  The problem is this button is rather unsightly sitting above the price in the HTML window and I wish I could call this function inside the Captivate course itself.

    The function is called closeSCOContent() and it closes the window of course but basically sends the user to a page of comments.

    So, basically is it possible to call this function using the Javascript function in Captivate 8?

    I hope that I have explained that sufficient

    Thank you very much!

    You should be able to call the function, but you would need to know where he is regarding parents/children/opener. Looks like there's frameset inside the popup.

  • Captivate 4 lessons put together to form a course in LMS

    Hello

    I develop 7 Captivate courses, each course consists of several lessons.  So far, I have developed each lesson as a separate project and then put all the lessons of a course using the aggregator and edited published for LMS.  When I opened the course in the LMS, there is a table of contents that shows the current lessons.

    I would like the user to automatically switch to the end of a lesson at the beginning of the next lesson.  How can I do this?  At the moment I have a button on the last slide of each lesson and clicking it will take you to the next slide, but clicking on the next button does nothing.  I can click on a lesson in the Table of contents to open it, but I want that each lesson opens automatically after the user has completed the previous lesson.  I can do this by selecting the option 'Open other project' in the Properties window for the next button?  If yes how can I do this?  You must specify the location of the file from the other project, but that will change once the course is transferred to the LMS.

    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Storage of Captivate Test Scores in a database

    I was responsible for capture of Captivate 2 (the results of the quiz) data in a database. I've fiddled around with export SCORM 1.2 and 2004 course and changing the wrapper, but given that I do not have a right in place API, it does not communicate the data. If someone knows how to "hotwire" send an xmlhttprequest (or just get the plain ol' score ' javascript), it would be fantastic.

    I already looked at the dev section ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/captivate/articles/store_cpresults.html) to intercept the data as it is sent via the e-mail function.

    It would be perfectly fine except that the user must click on a button to submit the results. I do not know how to have captivate trigger the function of e-mail when the slides of the charges.

    Another road, that I thought to take would be to use "Execution of Javascript" Captivate under "Project end Options." This would be ideal, but I don't know which variable names to use to send the user partition. It would be a cleaner way than to capture data from the send e-mail feature, but I'll go with what works.

    I'd appreciate any help to capture scores from the quiz that I now desperately need some kind of acceptable solution.

    Thank you!

    -edit-

    It seems that _percentCorrect is the variable I want to use Flash, but I don't know how to get it in Javascript and ActionScript. It seems to escape the quotes. If I alert ("hi"); It will appear an alert with 'Hi' in her box.

    If I alert (_percentCorrect); It throws an error as you would expect. I was hoping that I could do something in the sense of alert ("+ _percentCorrect +"); but that just notifies the text "+ _percentCorrect +". (even with single quotes)

    I think I have maybe to something.

    If captivate will abandon the variable again, then I can always steal it. I'm working on a swf file to "Pack" the captivate file in which will tear out the score up once it is calculated. I don't know if it will work, but it seems to be the most promising idea I've had so far.

    I can access the review like this note:
    Container.Slide X_scoring_mc._scoreDisplay._percentCorrect

    The only problem is the part 'X '. This is the number of the slide that the test is over (who curiously seems to be a slide as Captivate says it is. I guess the SWF starts counting from 0 and Captivate starts at 1).

    If I can find a way to detect that slide review quiz is on, so I think I'm home free. If I can get the variable out of the captivate SWF and into mine, then I can move to javascript in a healthy way of mind.

    -edit-

    WOOHOO! Wrapping the captivate SWF in mine worked like a charm. I pass the score to a function of javascript named catch_score();

    Here is the actionscript code that I used incase someone else has done (it is not the prettiest, but at least it market = P).

    Section 1:
    If (file == undefined) {line = "lesson.swf" ;}
    This way the file can be set by passing in the swf to HTML file
    loadMovie (file, 'container');

    Section 5:
    for (x = 0; x<>
    If (eval ("_level0.container.slide" + x + "_scoring_mc._scoreDisplay._percentCorrect")! = undefined) {}
    score = eval ("_level0.container.slide" + x + "_scoring_mc._scoreDisplay._percentCorrect");
    getURL ("javascript:catch_score('"+score+"');", "_self");
    Stop (6); just to stop wasting CPU with this bad script.
    }
    }

    Section 10:
    gotoAndPlay (5);

  • Captivate 7 - without error?

    Hello Adobe Experts,

    Recently, we used 6 Captivate in our Organization. There was a problem with this upgradation: "When Adobe Captivate 6 classes are accessible from an LMS, the course is unloaded or closed or scores are not reported after a point."

    Here is the link that has information on Hot fix to eliminate this issue:http://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/kb/hot-fix-captivate-courses-don' ANSI.org/access/access_t.html

    So my question is, is this patch fix was supported in Adobe Captivate 7? or do we need to have the same redone fixing him?

    Thank you

    Soumya

    Soumya salvation,

    Captivate 7 includes the fix for the patch.

    LMS issue that you mentioned is supported in Captivate 7.

    Please let us know if you encounter other problems.

    Kind regards

  • 9 use of the bandwidth of Captivate

    Anyone know an easy way to track the use of bandwidth for Captivate courses, or is there a line course Director for how much bandwidth use? We are in an environment in which some areas have very limited bandwidth and cannot play our course, even without audio or video included.

    I am not interested in tips to reduce the size of classes, just some numbers bandwidth usage I can give network administrators. Thank you!

    Have you tried to download on SCORM cloud?

    I think they have performance statistics generated after the course has been viewed which could provide the base you are looking for.

    You should also consider the LMS you use will also have an impact on performance for your users.

    A user at each location could run a 'speed test' to check the upload and download bandwidth they know. This could also be useful to your network administrators to have a conversation with your service provider.

  • Error on black screen in Captivate 7

    I hope someone can help out me.  I loaded a training course in Captivate 7 with powerpoint.  I had no problem at all, but now all of a sudden when I run the Captivate course through Internet Explorer it stops at a certain landslide and will just a black screen.  I tried to remove the slides and adding them again, but I get the same thing.  All parameters are similar on the blades before and after the black... someone has any ideas?

    Please try these steps, or one of them:

    • Could you copy all the slides in this project and paste them into a new empty project at the same resolution, then publish and check that.
    • You can also hide little slides and publish to verify which slide or object is corrupted.

    To hide a slide, right-click on the slide of the film, and then click Hide slide, then this slide will not be part of the production. You can hide a group of slides or just one slide at a time and keep the publication to investigate the damaged slide.

    • You have all created this presentation Power Point slides?

    If Yes, could you create a new project of this Power Point presentation and publish this one, if it works in Internet Explorer?

    Thank you.

  • Mark reports with Captivate

    Hello-

    I am brand new to Captivate and systems of learning in general, and I was in charge of research on the training opportunities for a client. I'm not having any luck finding a basic guide on the use of the quiz in Captivate, so I hope that people here can guide me along or point me to the documentation.

    My goal is to use Captivate 5.0 or 5.5 to create a program in such a way that the user can open the program, select their role to display its training modules, and then select a module or just run in all the modules associated with this role.  I think they would end a module and be assessed, submit the score and then move to another module if you wish. These modules could be in a Captivate project or separate files, so they seem to be integrated to the user. Once they have gone through the training and assessment, their scores must be reported accurately identifies the user (probably a sort of logon) and does not allow them to change their score. These scores may be sent by e-mail to an administrator, sent to a website, or what you have. It would be awesome if we could see the score of each user for each module and the overall score for each user in a role (that is, a grouping of modules). I hope that there will be a solution simple enough that someone without much experience it can handle once it is implemented.

    Because of the scene at the beginning of this project, I do not know how many people would be trained with him--it could be anywhere from a few dozen trainees at once to a mile or two, and it would be great if I could present options (especially since I might have different clients using this with different scopes). In the same way, the budget is TBD.

    My questions:

    • Is it possible to average scores automatically through some quizzes, quizzes and classroom training groups?
    • Scores can be reported within the executable formation, so the user can take a quiz and then go to another section without having to reopen the case of training? Or send scores always means the end of the training? If this is the case, this can be avoided by calling different files with a quiz of each?
    • Overall, Captivate is set to manage what I'm looking for? Or maybe that's the wrong question and it depends on what LMS is used.
    • What is the difference between LMS types? I see this list of options in the preferences of Captivate (SCORM, Acrobat Connect Pro, Acrobat.com, server, e-mail...) but I'm just not find explanations of how these things are functionally different.
    • Recommendations on specific reporting solutions or software? I don't expect that there is an obvious answer with all the unknowns, but some suggestions for different fields of application and the price would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks much for any help you can provide.

    Captivate will only partially get you to your goals here.  For the rest of the puzzle, you will need a Learning Management System or LMS.  The user connects to this LMS (manually or through single sign - on) to identify themselves before accessing the training courses they need.

    Captivate allows you to create course content modules and put together them as a class. For integration with an LMS, you usually have the SCORM compliant course.

    You can create training based on roles with Captivate, but your users would very likely be selecting their learning based on roles by the LMS. In fact, in most cases the LMS is configured to identify users according to their role and show them only the links to courses that would apply to this role.

    The Captivate course reports simply marking and the completion of the data when the user finishes it.  Is the LMS that captures this data and saves it to generate reports.  The decision on which the user not following is also something usually determined by the business rules in the LMS.  Reporting and formatting features differ from one LMS to another.  If your LMS 'can be managed without a lot of experience"is a very subjective matter.  First book to what your real needs and then decide how much experience is required by the person who was driving this system.  From my experience, they must be very able to do correctly, even for a relatively weak organization. (You do not say how many people are involved, but since you speak of "thousands I guess that it is a medium to large business.")

    There are hundreds of LMS products on the market. If you want to start to learn about those who are good or bad, I recommend you subscribe to the blog of Craig Weiss: http://elearninfo247.com/

    Addressing your other questions one by one:

    • Is it possible to average scores automatically through some quizzes, quizzes and classroom training groups?
      STEM: This can be done by most of the LMS.
    • Scores can be reported within the executable formation, so the user can take a quiz and then go to another section without having to reopen the case of training? Or send scores always means the end of the training? If this is the case, this can be avoided by calling different files with a quiz of each?
      STEM: Your username normally will complete one module at a time and scoring for this module is then captured by the LMS.
    • Overall, Captivate is set to manage what I'm looking for? Or maybe that's the wrong question and it depends on what LMS is used.
      STEM: Captivate is a leading solution for the creation of training content.  You need both a tool for creating content as a learning management system to do what you describe here.
    • What is the difference between LMS types? I see this list of options in the preferences of Captivate (SCORM, Acrobat Connect Pro, Acrobat.com, server, e-mail...) but I'm just not find explanations of how these things are functionally different.
      STEM: These are different standards of integration.  SCORM is by far the most popular.  Most LMS will manage SCORM 1.2, but many do not support the latest version of 2004. Some will be also AICC.  Acrobat Connect Pro is based on the AICC, but also a little on its own.
    • Recommendations on specific reporting solutions or software? I don't expect that there is an obvious answer with all the unknowns, but some suggestions for different fields of application and the price would be greatly appreciated.
      STEM: My only suggestion is that you start to write all your needs, be VERY anal about all this and search solutions which are offered against your REAL needs.
