• Captivate 5 gel problem trying to add subtitles to the video

  Hi there-

  I try to add subtitles to a video (.f4v) I inserted as "Video Slide" on a slide in a presentation of Adobe® Captivate® 5.  I click on the video to select, go to the properties panel, select 'Edit video synchronization' and then click on the Panel of captioning to try to add captions and then Captivate completely freezes and crashes so not only can I not to add captions to video, but I have to use the Windows Task Manager close.

  I've seen this process shows a tutorial from Lynda.com, and the instructor doesn't seem to have this problem with Captivate 5.

  Any thoughts?  Other users have found a work around at all?  I mean, I know I could audio from the video, then attach it to the slide and make the captioning in this way, but it would be much easier (and much more logical) to add it directly to video, especially since that's what you are supposed to be able to do.

  I use Captivate 5 on Windows 7.  I also have Captivate 5 on a personal Macintosh and you have not yet tried to see if the problem occurs on this platform, as well.  Has anyone experience this problem?  Sorry for the length - this is my first forum of validation, so I'll try to provide as much information as possible.

  Welcome to Adobe Captivate Forums.

  You can try to add the subtitles to the video after the removal of the preferences.

  Follow these steps to remove preferences

  1. close Captivate so momentum already

  2. go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe

  3. find a folder named "Captivate 5.

  4 delete the folder

  5. now launch Captivate and try your workflow

  Let us know if this solved the problem.

• BlackBerry Smartphone Sync Preview gel preparation

  Until about a months ago my Blackberry 8520 always correctly synced with Outlook 2010 on my PC. Now, it freezes when making a flash sync to 'convert Blackberry calendar data (read 200 files).

  I welcomed the process runs for three hours, but still not finished at that time here.

  I have updated B; lackberry Desktop Software to last 7.1.0.B042.

  The phone (with Virgin) is on saftware version 5 Bundle 1168 (v5.0.0.681.platform 5.2.0.67)

  What I can do to solve this problem and how can I do?

  I'm not a 'Tech' person, so any resolution will have to explain in simple English.

  Desperatley need your help.

  PS, I found that this problem was occurring to the other in 2012 so hopfully, it can be quickly solved.

  Anyone who might have this type of problem and after about 25 hours and various attempts to solve the problem, I think I've sorted it.

  What I did: -.

  Plug in BB to desktop/PC software, went to remove the main panel, sellected and deleated calendar data all calendar data files.

  I selected Organizer synchronization and it syncranised without any problem.

  I conclude that it must therefore have been a crupted fie in calendar data to device which causing blocking upward.

• Why my Captivate 8 project will not preview or publish?

  I created this project from a template that was given to me by a recruiter. It was created in Captivate 7. When I click on preview, I have a process wheel that never solves. When I post, I click on Yes in the preview dialog box, but nothing happens. I tried to open it after publication and I get a blank page without error message.

  The platform is Mac OS 10.11.6. I don't see anything unusual in the file. It simulates the software with screenshots, audio and mouse action, followed with screenshots and hot spots. Nothing I have not done many times before. The only difference is the model.

  Ideas?

  Problem solved! The question has nothing to do with the platform, at least not directly. The issue is that Mac requires a special Java Update specifically for existing programs. It had been installed, but my hard drive failed and I have installed a new. Update alert was quietly sitting somewhere on my computer. When I noticed it yesterday, I installed it, restarted, and everything worked.

  The lesson is, when you install a new hard drive, make sure that all the pesky java updates are in place.

• Captivate 9 - preview the slide entire chronology does not

  HI - Captivate and really stuck on a fairly new basis. So basic I couldn't find answers anywhere.

  My project has slides that work for different durations. I set by default to 20 seconds in the Preferences tab.

  But whenever I saw the project then it works for about 10 seconds and all animated to appear after that which is not.

  It's driving me crazy.

  If I play the chronology of slide everything works perfectly but not in preview (except "play Slide").

  I don't know if its a problem with the preview or my project, but it is a real stumbling block.

  Any suggestion or ideas appreciated.

  Unless there is an interactive object in the Group_29 that is not developed, there is no reason why this slide show only up to 10 dry. Another possibility would be an interactive object on the model of used slides, with a pause or an interactive object on a previous slide that is scheduled for the rest of the project. In both cases, you should see this object on the stage.

  BTW, slide Play isn't an overview, only way to synchronize objects like you did with the timing. If another preview of the method (the best are previews of browser) lead the slide stop somewhere, there should be a break. You can check in the preview if the progress bar in a PlayBar stops?

  Another less likely cause could be that the objects does not, are set to be visible in output: check the "eye" icon in the properties panel in top left.

• Moves the question 'C' or 'C' disappears when previewing Captivate project 8

  Captivate 8 - when I add a question multiple choice quiz ' C', the letter 'C' disappears or the text of answer choice moves to the right when I preview the project. It is only in the tablet or mobile views.  It looks fine in the project - doesn't happen when previewing.

  No idea why, but maybe you could try changing the numbering, using numbers instead of characters?

• Captivate 9: project offshoot freezes and no longer preview or publish

  I have a captivate project 9, with branching activated. Whenever I went to preview or publish the project it crashes, on slides at random.

  The branching is created using advanced actions of "go to...". "and I have tried editing to HTML5, SWF and both.

  I even enabled scalability, tested on different browsers and tried a load of different patches!

  Any ideas?

  You said branch never updated before, so I didn't know who was involved.

  I came across several issues where conscious branch comes into conflict with other parameters of such Captivate that submit all the and other options quiz.

  If conscious Branch participated in this issue and turn it off has advantages, then I would say that your actual issue is somewhere in your quiz slides, or perhaps with the pre-test if you have one.

• Captivate 8: YouTube Video displayed in preview mode, but not after publication. (on any browser)

  I have a captivate presentation 8, I inserted a video with the Youtube widget. It is not at all in preview mode. However when he spotted in a browser, it appears and works very well. So, when I publish and read the published file is nowhere to be seen. I can't understand this. I have attached a few screenshots to show what I mean.

  The difference is that one who works is running on your localhost, which is a server. The last one works right from your hard drive. Your system must not be configured to allow scripts to run locally. If you push your files to a server, I'm sure it would work.

• Captivate 8 - text captions appear on schedule "when I play chronology," but only the FIRST legend text appears in any ' Preview '.

  I just took Captivate 8!

  In my first draft, I have created a new slide and have added about 40 seconds of audio narration on the slide.

  I've added several legends of text on the slide and then used the timeline so that each ball appears in the appropriate location in the audio.

  When I "play" the timeline by pressing the icon of reading the SCRIPT, narration and captions are perfectly synchronized.

  However, when I choose one of the options "PREVIEW", while the narrative plays perfectly, no subheadings (other than the first) never appear.

  What I am doing wrong?

  Hello

  You probably have a box click, button, text entry area or a smart shape configured as a button on the slide. Each of them is paused playback.

• Captivate 8: buttons not responding is not in preview mode

  I installed the trial version of Captivate 8.

  For the moment, none of the buttons work in preview mode.

  However, they work when published.

  I checked my properties and have my buttons checked at "rest of the blade.

  Anyone encountered the same problem or have a solution for me?

• Captivate 6 Audio plays is not in preview

  I was insert audio into my slides in Captivate 6 project without problem. I inserted them, clicked on play, and they worked. This morning, however, I found that none of my audio would play when I click Play at the bottom of my calendar. He will play in the window audio slide when I double click on the audio. It will play when I click on the preview in the Menu Insert button. So why he won't play in the game under the timeline bar? Any ideas?

  This could be due to corrupted preferences.

  We could try to re-create the preferences, but it will remove your customizations in the workspace. But we will not completely remove the Preferences file, so we can get it back.

  In order to recreate the preferences, follow these steps.

  • Save your project.

  • Close Captivate

  • [Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name] folder of Captivate 6 \Local\Adobe\Adobe \AppData (hidden folder)

  • Windows XP: Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 record - [user name] C:\Documents and Settings\

  • Mac: /Users/ [user name] / Library/Preferences/Adobe Captivate 6 folder

  • Rename the folder 6 Captivate what either.

  • Launch Captivate and test your project.

• Desperately need help problem preview/publish in Captivate 5

  I work with Captivate 5 latest version (incl. patch) on a Windows 7 computer.

  I have a project of ~ 120 slides of 'light' (boxes, buttons, TEBs only about 30 ~ slide), the slide deck is imported from ppt. In addition, I have a few (recorded with ppt, important in library) audio files for each slide.

  My problem: if I saw 'slide' or "then 5 slides", everything works - but as soon as I try Preview complete draft or "from this landslide", audio door, but the slide content disappears, I get a white screen that flashes & sound like mouse clicks continue. When the flashing you see elements of other slides appear and disappear, but so quickly (in milliseconds) that it is impossible to understand the slides. And above all: WHY?

  I tested with several slides as starting point and he continues to plays, as above, so do not think that it has something to do with a particular slide.

  I hope someone can help. I'm at my wits end

  Hello Anja, and welcome to the forum,

  There could be a lot of reasons: hardware problems of corruption of the file (blades or objects) etc.

  You could try a couple of things:

  • clear the cache of CC
  • Delete preferences (with closed CP) file; on Win7, it's this folder: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe\Captivate 5
  • try to copy and paste the slides to a new empty project with the same resolution, not all at once in order to find the corrupted slides possible

  Normally the size to CP5 is not really a problem more than in previous versions, but of course your PC configuration is important.

• Captivate 4 TTS Audio plays is not in published or ok in edit preview

  While watching my notices, project audio played on 5 of my 70 slides. (It worked fine before). He played Ok edit but not sound in preview or published. I tried to replace the audio using the button convert TTS and audio would replace the audio previous. Even remove the audio and dragging the new audio to the timeline would not work. I reinstalled Captivate 4 and TTS and it seems to work again a new projects, but I can't seem to fix my current project. Someone can tell if I can fix these slides, or have I damaged somehow these slides? This is a great project.  Thanks in advance

  If I've ever seen a questionable behavior like that on a slide and is not easily resolved with a reboot or publish again, I just re-create the slide and remove the 'old'.  It is often much faster to do so than the mud around trying to fix them.  If there is corruption on a slide, you don't want anywhere in your project.

• Captivate 5 - screens will not advance preview and publish

  I just started using Captivate 5 and I'm working on courses that are on a mobile software application, so I'm capture screenshots in a small size and you want to resize the project to a larger size, if I can put other content on the slide. After the record screen captures, I went in to change... Resize the project. I leave the Aspect Ratio to maintain controlled and choose the size of 790 x 545 preset. I click on the project to keep the same size and position in the project and leave the draft Position at the Center and click Finish. When I go to see a preview of the course, most screens will be in the correct position, but some of the screens are in the upper left of the screen, while the mouse movements remain in the correct position on the blade and the previous slide shows also in the center of the screen. Very frustrating! Can someone give me some ideas? I need to create 11 of these courses, and it is a major obstacle.

  If this feature does not someone has other workaround solutions?
