• Faulty "Show completions".

  Right now, the command "Edit / Show completions seems to show all functions known, variable,..." This isn't my understanding of a partially typed text "completion."

  Suppose I type my_functi and you want to see possible completions, for example my_function_simple and my_function_complicated - but of course, I don't want to see ATTR_HT_HASH_FUNCTION... simply because it CAN NOT finish my text... it could replace it, but this isn't the idea of completion of the service.

  From 2013 of CVI, the list of completions Show underwent several changes. One of them is the fact that the results include now all possible symbols that are accessible from the scope where show completions is called. This is an expected behavior, because sometimes users want to see other items in the list of completions show, that those that exactly match their identifier. Despite other symbols which are now added to the list, the list of completions Show highlights the exact match, then the user care, but only to jump to the first item in the list (similar to the second photo you attached to your post), in the case where a match could not be found.

  So in your example, although "my_function_simple" or "my_function_complicated" are highlighted because they are the best matches that correspond to your token of "my_functi", ATTR_HT_HASH_FUNCTION and other symbols are suggested by the list of completions show as expected behavior.

• HowTo: "don't show this update" for Microsoft Silverlight?

  I have a problem preventing the wanting to install Silverlight from Microsoft/Windows Update. Every time when I do a Microsoft/Windows Update, the 'software, optional"has at least a suggested entry: Silverlight.

  The first 10 + times this happened, I clicked on the "don't show me this update again", but it has always been ignored. The of Ms/Win next update, the update of Silverlight is there still.

  I'm not anti-Silverlight, but I do not need to have installed and prefer not to see the recommendation every time. IIRC, I installed it once on a virtual machine of MsVpc2007-SP1. Seemed ok but not essential that I have the boss needs to do.

  I'm a developer of software (for most MFC) who prefer to have my score of development as 'vanilla' as possible with only these tools/utilities that I have found to be essential/reliable/stable/etc...

  I could check with success "don't show me this update again" for most of the optional software utilities, such as Search, PowerShell, .NET, etc. Silverlight seems the only one that does not take account of the "don't show this update again."

  Click Start, run and enter in the box:

  Msinfo32

  Click OK and when the system info summary appears, click Edit, select all, copy and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information here.

  There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

  This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

  Step 1: check the feature Safe mode.

  I am using the LrDialogs.messageWithDoNotShow dialog box. The dialog box appears and shows the correct message, etc., but there is no checkbox "don't show this again". It seems to be a regular LrDialogs.message. Even with LrDialogs.promptForActionWithDoNotShow. I tested it on Windows and Mac.   You can check these prefs on the topic: config page and if either appears "BOLD" (user set) (bold) then right click in the pref and click Reset.
