Card readers are not seen: Causes?

I'm pretty familiar with my XP computer and just realized that some card readers do not recognize yet, others do. This could be related to a problem I have where my camera is not being seen.

The best guide of services I know is here--> http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/

Choose your version of Windows and have a look.

You use something close to, if it is more extreme, 'Configuration of Bare Bones' and many things does not work... but none of the services 'Disabled' in this list appears as if it would be related to your problem.  Try to use 'Safe' or 'Tweaked' configurations of services BV and see if the card reader functionality returns.

In addition to Windows services, you have a number of services to third party as well.  If you're going to turn them off, you might consider simply uninstall the software in need of these services.  The most obvious of them is iTunes.  See http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204313

As I wrote earlier, card readers lack.  Unless you have checked on another computer, the fact that you have used for years is not proof that it is still functional.

  • Card readers do not show in the COMPUTER after the installation of EM718AA

I installed the EM718AA on a xw6600 running Windows 7 Professional. Shows Device Manager all slots for cards 'work properly' but none of the card readers appear in the screen of the COMPUTER. Similarly, media does not show whn plugged into slots.

Installing the card was not easy, with an appearance of a 'blue screen of death', but the installation seems to resolve itself during a reboot... until I saw the lack of icons of map on the screen of the COMPUTER.

    Hello!

Today, I have faced a problem. The thing is that, after reinstaling Win7, it cannot see that the drivers associated with USB2 and 3-ports and card reader. It was installed Win7 32 bit front and everything worked perfectly, but after installing the same version of Windows, the mentioned drivers do not work. What the pilots I install to my laptop Satellite C-50-A-1JV?

Maybe I don't know what delicate drivers are needed? I tried to implement different versions of them, and no one works.
Should I just install another version of Windows?

What did you do in the past? Have you used the drivers offered for another laptop model?

  • Memory card readers do not show in Windows 7

I just upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and now I can't view memory card reader drives in Manager of devices or Windows Explorer. Also one of CD burners two (one that isn't R - W) does not appear. I tried the HP site for downloads without result. What should I do to regain the use of these devices? I have the original system recovery disks; I get them from? They are compatible with Windows 7?

    Not a problem, Willie.

To some people would say you downgraded for Win 7, but I completely agree that you upgraded.  The problem is exactly what you are experiencing.  Among the components of Vista cannot function probperly with Win 7.

Here's what I want you to try:

First of all, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

    1. click on the 'Start' button, enter "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter." If necessary, click on "continue".

    2. in Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right click on the controller host, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

    3. Repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.

Please click on "BRAVO", if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

I updated Vista Friday, 11/09/2011 with KB2533523, KB2468871 and KB2310138.  After the update, I lost my backup drive Seagate mapping and my maxtor drive and card slots on the front of the desktop computer.  Tried running the fixit Center and it crashed.  I can still get to my CF card of the Canon camera via USB connection software - is not acceptable.

  • Media card internal drive not seen by Windows 7 Pro 64

The return of the story is this: my Dell Inspiron 546 recently dropped when the HARD drive failed terminally.  "Rather than replace the HD, I opted for the upgrade of ' with a refurbished desktop computer.  I'm done with a Dell Optiplex 760 MT, which I am very happy with.  He has a new 128 GB SSD mounted and I have a new 1 to Seagate Barracuda disk HARD ready to go in it, when I get a longer SATA data cable for it.

In any case, I got a few pieces off the Inspiron to go in the Optiplex: memory card reader 2-4 GB of RAM, DVD - RW and media 3.5 "internal.  The RAM of works well (taking the system to a total of 6 GB).  The DVD - RW works fine (once I activated the SATA port in the BIOS).  However, the card reader does nothing.

I plugged into a vacant USB connector on the motherboard, which has been marked something like "INT USB".  However, Windows doesn't see it, and it does not show in the Device Manager.  It's as if she is not there at all (no lights, nothing).

This card reader worked fine on the Inspiron (which was an AMD Athlon 64 machine, but running Windows 7 it 32 b).

Any ideas?  I had a glance through the BIOS and can't see anything obvious.  I assumed that being a USB device, it would just spring to life, but I do not.

    The fixed.

First, to use the USB header, you should disable the "floppy" in the BIOS.  I tried this but it didn't work.  However, the service manual indicates before installing the drive, then I unplugged the drive, put under tension, then stopped again, plugged in and restarted, you must disable the floppy.  I also disconnected and re connected the cable at the end of the drive.

According to these fixed it, I don't know, but now it's the hunky dory, seen in the maps of Manager and reading of the device as it should.

  • "your video card drivers are not properly installed, are obsolete or are for the DARDWARE not supported"

During installiation, Windows kept saying that "C drive has NO ENOUGH SPACE" and required "delete" old "unused programs", I agree, but it has never been the question on the hard disk drivers.
I have Windows VistaHome Preimium for 3 years, (this page is not available here in your web site) and since the 19th of February2010, I read all "advising them," trying to 'restore', nothing helps. Last year the illusion was intalled easily and high speed. I've never met a single problem, the same computer, same material, just suddenly become 'unsupported', I need Windows just restore all my setting back and stop deleting my settings and downloads. How can I restore material that has been removed from Windows from my computer? Help, please.

    ArgonautAmber,
Then you get this error from the program of Secondlife or do you have other programs as well?  How much free space is on your hard drive?  Have you updated your driver video crad lately? You have an active antivirus program running?  If so, is up to date and you have scanned your system lately?

What I suggest you to start with:
Run the disk error check to see if there is any problem with the player.

Check the free space on the hard disk.  If you run very low then you may need to delete the old unused programs or to archive documents of CD Si you have not emptied the trash lately, do the same.

If you do not have an antivirus running, then take a look at these:

    Get rid of malware

Can I clean an already infected computer?

Check the video card manufacturer's Web site and download the latest driver for your hardware.

  • Network card driver are not not in Device Manager

Original title: need network card (wired) for Windows XP

I have a 3 year old desktop computer (Compaq Presario SR5548F) and a few days ago I downgraded my Vista to XP (raw just XP programs) and now I have no internet connection (internet works fine on another desktop computer) there due to lack of driver because I don't see any network adapter on my device manager. I went looking for a driver but I couldn't install them because I need other drivers/hardware or programs. Microsoft technical support (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315275) it says to go to the hardware compatibility list, but when I click it, it took back me to the Windows 7 Compatibility Center, so I could not find a driver. Is there a driver that works without the need of a driver or hardware?

    Hi ThousandsBlades,

-What is the brand and model of network card you use?

Here is a link for the Windows XP hardware compatibility list.

I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of your network adapter to see if there is a driver that is compatible with Windows XP for your network card.

Computer laptop Satellite U200-165, Win XP home,
I got in 2006, while it wasn't any problem with my mmc cards.
Yesterday installed Windows XP pro, installed the drivers: driver media flash and SD Secure module and card readers do not read MMC cards

    Help, please!

    Hello

What exactly do you mean by MMC card doesn t work?
What is the status of card reader in Device Manager?

I checked the user manual (which can be downloaded from the Toshiba page) and it tells the MMC cards are certainly supported.
I think it must be a software problem.

In your case I recommend to update the Win XP for the last State and reinstall the Flash Media Driver and SD Secure Module again

Good day Sir/Mam...i recently bought a HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-f208nx and I wonder if the dedicated video card is can be seen in the BIOS?... cause when I go into the BIOS I don't see the card... thanks video dedicated to help.

    Hi @nextor ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked at your question about your Notebook of 17-f208nx HP Pavilion Notebook and concerns regarding the graphics not to be seen in the BIOS. That it is up to your motherboard, it is usually on the Advanced tab. If it is not listed in the BIOS means that you will not be able to change the options.

    Thank you.
