Cause updates Windows vista freeze on configuration after reboot

Hi, I have problems with the Windows Vista updates that are causing my computer to freeze the configuration step once the computer has been restarted. He gets updates 3-0% 1 configuration but does not progress. I have then turn off and start in safe mode to restore the system. The updates are: KB2559049, KB2536276, KB2556532, KB2563894, KB2567680, KB905866, KB2563227, KB2570791, KB915597.

I tried install one at a time and only managed to install updates, but those above seem to prevent the computer from freezing as described.

I had an infection maleware a couple of months (the one who pretended to be the windows Security Center and tries to make you buy software). I removed it with Malewarebites. I did at least a success many updates as a result - and then, these problems started when I treid to do this series of updates. I read in other issues of the forum that the maleware could be the cause of my problems to update and that maybe I need to format and reinstall windows. Is this correct?

Thank you in anticipation

Thank you very much for your help. I tried to use the patch program in suggestion (1). This did not help. In the end, I have solved the problem by starting the computer in safe mode. This allowed then updates the installation (the case as on normal start up the computer froze as he tried to set up the updates). Then I have to restart the computer normally without any problems. I have no idea why it worked! Thanks again.

  • Updates Windows 7 freezes on Configuration

    Hello

I have a brand new Packard Bell PC, AMD Athon II X 4 605th CPU, HDD 500 GB, 3 GB of DDR3 memory, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Security is ESET Smart Security 4.

I can load the updates, but when it restarts it stalls at 15% during the configuration of the changes. I left that night to run and it still crashes. Only remedy seems to be off and restart in safe mode and then restart again so we're back to zero.

Only change I made to the system's security review to operate the SONOS software.

Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows. Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) will NOT fix it!

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or a local network (i.e. other computers) and before you plug in a flash, SD card, or any other external computer diskotherwise:

Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself. (No, Symantec Support never say this.) See if the following solves your problems:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    6. do a clean install of the 2010 version of your Norton application, using your product ID & reboot: http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

TIP: Do not activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

    7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate until you get a prompt "no update more".

    8 test cycle.

NB: Your Norton application can disable Windows Defender by default.

  • Windows Vista no longer starts after re-installation (cursor black screen, white after installation)

A few days ago I decided that I wanted to start my Dell Inspiron 1720, back to square one. I knew that there are a few options, so I tried to restore. I realized it let me only a month back in time and my computer was slow for about a year now. I looked through my manual that came with my laptop and decided to unstack reinstall drive in and all re - install Windows Vista. I realized after I put the disk in and from the installation, I forgot to disable my anti-virus (trend pro microphone). I don't know if this is causing the problem, but after the installation, I get a black screen with a white cursor. I let it sit for about 4 hours before I decided to restart my laptop. Once I rebooted, it wouldn't let me normally, start in safe mode, or start from the last successful boot. I then tried to fix with my Vista DVD and who do not have too much work. I also tried the restore and it tells me that I am running in a low state of diagnosis and it cannot be done. I tried to reinstall vista twice since then and I'm out of ideas. Help, please! I forgot to add, when I try to start in safe mode, it stops at the ckcdisk.sys (I think it's called).

    millsx89,

When you install Windows Vista on the 1720 Insp, you need to install the SATA drivers during installation. That's why your system stops at this point. You can also boot into the bios by pressing F2 and changing the Sata in ATA instead of AHCI operation. And then install windows. You will need to change it back once you have installed windows and loaded the drivers.

    Thank you

    Jesse

  • Messages to update Windows Vista 64-bit driver for Qosmio F30 Vista 32 bit

    Hello

Today, I noticed that, update Windows Vista displays the bad update for one of the drivers of Qosmio F30.

I have Windows Vista 32-bit, but Windows Update post a 64 bit version of the driver.

    See the screenshot [here: http://imagefilehost.googlepages.com/f30Wrongupdate.jpg]

    Any idea?

    Hmm... it's strange?  :|

The ACPI from Toshiba x 64 compatible driver certainly means a 64-bit version!

I put t know why Vista driver update notification indicates a 64-bit to a 32 bit OS driver, but usually the 64-bit driver should not be compatible with the 32 bit OS.

However, the deal seems clear don t install if the pilot is not designed for your operating system.
