If your users are complaining about slow at 15:00 then look at what is happening on the system at this point in time.  Use the Active Session history, providing that you have the license, at 3 pm to see if there is a problem.  Or take snapshots of the AWR manually around 15:00 in an attempt to capture any anomaly.  Or capture instant V$ SESSION yourself manually around 15:00 and see so many sessions is pending or not.

I have seen problems like this on shared physical infrastructure systems where the activity on a system can interfere with each other.  Attention to this kind of thing, because if it is caused by another system then you will never find the cause of the problem inside the Oracle.  Examples include backups are made at a specific time, causing large amounts of sequential disk i/o and slows down access to the drive for everything else.  Such a scenario could cause some writing redo log time to increase significantly.  Or the backup could be another system completely who shares the same disks in the same drive bay or the SAN and Bay drives or SAN is inundated by applications e/s backup.  But as it's another system, that you will not see what is happening on your Oracle database system.

Or a virtualized with environment sharing CPU and memory where another virtual machine running a CPU intensive job and steals the Oracle system CPU capacity.  I saw the same thing with memory so - Vmware has a strange way to virtualize memory, which means it can use all of the memory on the physical hardware and run out, and then he had to intervene to release somehow little memory.  What ends up slowing things down.

It could be a network problem - is something that the network of the floods at 15:00?  Still, backups can be a common cause of this, during the transfer of data over the network to another system.  Is there a work extracted regularly data which runs at 15:00 for example extract given OLTP to feed into a data warehouse, which is copied on the network?

It could be many different things, causing the slowdown.  I would definitely recommend watching any expected sessions know and see if this gets worse around 15:00, or if it remains the same, in which case the problem is elsewhere.  You must also eliminate everything else - the disks, network, etc.

    Good luck

  • How to rotate Apache2.2/logs/access_log without restarting AMS 5.0.1 on AWS.

The Adobe Media Server 5.0.1 documentation say that Logging.xml controls the rotation of the Apache access_log file, but its does not turn and I do not see how to configure in Logging.xml.

Logging.XML supports newspapers of AMS as Access.log files, but it does not manage the Apache logs. I saw where you use logrotated rotate Apache logs, and then issue a "reload" for the service, but AMS controls Apache and the AMS service only supports start them, stop and reload which takes a minimum of 5-10 seconds to reload the server. How do I rotate the Apache using Logger.xml logs or how can I issue a reload directly to Apache when AMS scripts control it?

You can use rotatelogs place cronolog. Rotatelogs is installed with the installation of AMS/FMS of Apache. It is documented here: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/programs/rotatelogs.html. The example above would become:

    CustomLog "|/opt/adobe/ams/Apache2.2/bin/rotatelogs /mnt/ams/Apache2.2/logs/access_log.%Y%m%d 86400' combined

You will need to write your own scripts to manage these log files so that your disks do not fill to the top. The following two lines in your crontab will compress some files older than 1 day and remove the logs compressed after 30 days.

    @daily find /mnt//ams/Apache2.2/logs/-type f - name ' * .gz ' - mtime + 30 - removal

    @daily file in ' find /mnt/ams/Apache2.2/logs/-pas - name of ' * .gz '-mmin + 1440'; gzip - best $file; fact

  • Will be database Oracle 10 g / 11g run without redo logs?

I was asked in an interview with tech:

What is an Oracle Database 10 g / 11g continue to run if someone or something corrupt any of its redo logs?

I believe that the answer is Yes.

I tested the removal of all newspapers of redo of an Oracle 11.1.0.7 running database, and I was still able to create a new table, perform an insertion and validation.

When I stop and restart the database however, of course, he complained lack of recovery logs.

Assuming that never stop you the database, the database continues to function without error, without no redo logs?

Is the database from functioning normally without redo logs? Are newspapers in recovery in the event of failure of the user, instance or media, and recover from these situations?

The documentation I've read does not address what happens if corrupt you recovery logs but more data files in the case of media/disk failures.

MetaLink notes or documents or first hand experience would be appreciated.

    Snake

In fact, you are right, and the captain himself, Oracle Database 10 g / 11 g will not run if all is redo logs have been deleted or corrupted by all means. Play well!

    (1) how and where is the paper stored in Cisco first. ?

    (2) newspapers contains logs first Cisco devices manages?

    (3) is it possible to sent Cisco newspapers first to a third-party device. ?

    Hello

    (1) how and where is the paper stored in Cisco first. ?

    (2) newspapers contains logs first Cisco devices manages?

    AS FAR AS I KNOW,

Infrastructure main Syslogs are directly read the 514 and then filtered udp port
, no SEV1 and SEV2 syslogs are removed and not be exchanged from db. The
syslog messages will not be saved in files.

So far, PI support only syslog SEV 0,1 and 2.

    (3) is it possible to sent Cisco newspapers first to a third-party device. ?

Unfortunately, this feature is not there in PI so far.

For settings.ini as this article sets out the question may be totally ignored.

The SFC.exe command reports Settings.ini file errors in the CBS.log file after that you add gadgets
for the Sidebar of Windows Vista by using the Sysprep tool and an Autounattend.xml file.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947595

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These errors only are in the settings.ini for the sidebar and are not a serious problem by all means.

    Close the sidebar for that.

Something else for the settings.ini - run AutoRuns and look at the entries SideBar Gadget - y at - it
all pointing to is no longer present as temp files or uninstalled gadgets or not running?
Those who will reflect the "yellow icons" on the left side and the files/folders will not exist. If so just
Click on it and delete - Reboot. This may correct the errors that you see.

Autoruns - free - see what programs are configured so that it starts automatically when your system
boots and you login. Autoruns shows you the full list of registry and file locations where
    applications can configure Auto-start settings.
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
    -------------------------------

Another process to try is to remove everything except a gadget - everything what you think is the most simple, that you use.
Maybe the calendar. Then RESTART - use another simple gadget, and delete the first class used
-RESTART again. See if that helps.

Rarely, the error causing the problem with the sidebar and not not affect the system in general.

Also update your drivers: (WiFi (wireless), NIC (Wired) and others as required)

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers to 7 (update drivers manually using the methods above is preferred
to make sure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)

    Please, back up all data.

Quit the server application and drag it to the trash, but don't drain. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to stop all services. You won't lose any data.

If you use the DNS server, temporarily change the primary DNS setting in the network to another DNS preferences window.

Replace the Soft where he was and run it. Test.

Restore the DNS parameter, if any.

How to replace or recover msvcp90.dll?

You must provide more information - it's a shame Microsoft Answers dialogue forums to ask a question don't ask basic questions like when you create a new topic so I wouldn't ask them every time.

Then it would perhaps not so backward Q & A to just get basic information to maybe answer a question in a response.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

Which is exactly the message that you see and when you see it?

Fill in the blank: my system worked well until: _.

What you are doing, or you need to do to create the error condition?

As msvcp90.dll file or files as it usually aren't something you just replace or recover (a system restore might work maybe).

These files usually fall in the area of influence of implementing Windows XP technology side by side (SxS).

Most of the time, we'd find DLL files in the C:\windows\system32 folder, but sometimes it's necessary (depending on the applications you have installed) to have two different DLLs with the same name on a single computer by side at the same time.  Ouch!   How are you going to do?

Because the file names are the same they cannot all be in C:\windows\system32 with (this condition is called DLL _) and you will be able not only to crush the replace, so XP is able to keep multiple copies of the file with the same name in a few other files in the Directory Windows Side By Side something like:

    C:\windows\WinSxS...

XP keep track of the different versions and swap them pulling in and out files on-demand as needed.

If you search your system for the missing file, you find a file of the same name in many other files, but you have to put the correct version of the file in the right folder.

For example, Microsoft .NET Framework can use only one version, produced Adobe can use another version, Visual Source Safe could use another one
    version, etc.

If you look in the C:\windows\WinSxS folder, you can see lots of subfolders that are similar to the first part of the name of the folder, but then have some enigmatic characters for the rest of the name of the folder.

If the case of the file MSVCP90.dll, you might see some subfolders that look like this:

    C:\windows\Winsxs\x86_Microsoft.VC90.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.21022.8_x-ww_d08d0375
    C:\windows\Winsxs\x86_Microsoft.VC90.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.4137_x-ww_d494ac0e

Under each of these records would be the correct msvcrt90 file (or several) necessary for a particular application.  When the application needs a file (or several files), Windows XP will make that necessary files at the request of the correct folder that corresponds to the needs of the application that needs them.

If an application complains about one of the side Windows of files side is missing, you must determine what is the application and you may have to reinstall to restore the content of the side Windows per side records.  More information is needed.

In the case of this kind next to files, you just may not download or copy the DLL file missing in your C:\windows\system32 folder with the rest of the DLL files, since the application will search for it in the side Windows by records side.

Look in the event viewer of the indices at the time of the incident.

Here is a method to display specific information about individual events.

To view the logs in Event Viewer, click Start, settings, Control Panel, administrative tools, event viewer.

A shortcut to the event viewer is to click on start, run and enter in the box:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc /s

Click OK to launch the event viewer.

The most interesting newspapers are usually the Application and the system.

Some newspapers such as security and Internet Explorer may be completely empty or have just a few items.  The default value
settings for XP does not log this activity, unless you need to solve a problem in these areas.  If
you enable logging for them, newspapers fill up quickly and could adversely affect the performance of your system with
all the extras (often unnecessary) activity.

If you have Microsoft Office installed, it has its own newspapers, and they can be empty or boring occasional activity
very little activity or if there is no problem with your desktop applications.  It's normal.

Not every event is a problem, some are informational messages that things work very well, and some are warnings.

However, no event should defy reasonable explanation.

Each event is sorted by Date and time.  Errors will be red Xs, warnings will have yellow! s.
Informational messages have white is.  Not every error or warning event means that there is a serious question.
Some are excusable at boot time when Windows starts.  Try to find only the events to date
and the time around your problem.

If you double-click on an event, it will open a window of properties with more information.  On the right are
black top and down arrow keys to scroll through the open events. The third button that looks like
two pages on top of each other is used to copy the details of the event in your Windows Clipboard.

When you find an interesting event that occurred at the time of your question, click on the third button
under the upper and down arrows to copy the details and then you can paste the details (right click, paste
or Ctrl + V) the text in detail here for analysis.  Remove personal information from your information
After having stuck if you are forced to do so.

If you paste an event, it will look something like this annoying system startup event:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Service Control Manager
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 7035
    Date: 14/07/2010
    Time: 17:54:18
    User: Jose
    Computer: computer

    Description:
The Remote Access Connection Manager service was sent successfully a starting control.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

To get a fresh start on any log of the event viewer, you can choose to clear the log (the log backup is available).
then reproduce your problem, then just look at the events around your show and troubleshoot the
events that are happening when you have your question.

Do, or do not. There is no test.
