CCNP security certifications

Hello

Can someone please advise if I can get one of the new security review to keep my CCNP R & S existing certification that expires in April 2016

I passed old exams 642-618, 642-637, 642-627 already. Can I appear just for the review of 300-208 to keep my certification valid and thus also complete safety CCNP certification.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Dobbelaere

Yes, you can pass a professional or expert level exam and who will be renewing your certification CCNP R/S. If you do the SISAS tests now, then you can use it for your CCNP security when you passed also three other Sec CCNP exams (and the sine qua non, the CCNA Security).

  • CCNP security certification!

    Hi all

I question who I am spent by all the associated cisco hope web found my answer. but I have not found the answer.

    I attended security CCNP courses.

    640-802 (CCNA) - HAS NO

    640-554 (CCNA Security) - ADOPTED

    642-637 (SECURE) - ADOPTED

    642-618 (FIREWALL) - ADOPTED

    642-648 (VPN) - ADOPTED

    642-627 (IPS) - ADOPTED

each of them ended in NOV. 3 in 2012. It seems as if I'm taking CCNA exam (640-802), it will complete the CCNP security certification. I was wondering is there a due date which I take CCNA (640-802)?

If I pass the CCNA (640-802) security CCNP cert valid dates will be from 08 June 2013 or from NOV 03 in 2013.

The 640-802 exam is only to be offrerd through September 30, 2013, date to take the review of version 2.0 new (200-120).

My understanding of the dates is as follows:

When you pass the final exam required for your CCNP security (and assuming that none of the previous reviews have expired - i.e. everything within 3 years from the date of final passage required review) your certfication will be issued with a validity period of 3 years starting from the date of the required final past.

However, I would doublecheck with the support of the certification for a definitive answer:

  • CCNP security - SISAS 300-208

p.137 book of Aaron Woland, entirely of distributed deployment

"The maximum number of NHPS that may be associated with the PAN + combined MNT in the deployment of four nodes, is five Ssnp, which makes deployment of seven nodes."

If my interpretation is correct, I take the configuration in Figure 7 - 4 shown on p. 136 and add three blocks more (e, g., ISE-5, 6 - ISE, ISE - 7) to respond to the above statement.  My interpretation is correct?

Related to this: how 7-5 Figure 5 ssnp at 40?  The last sentence on p.137 "the maximum number of NHPS in this deployment also increases of 5 to a maximum of 40 Ssnp."

What factor (s) am I missing that determines the amount of NHP in any deployment model?

My interpretation is that each node of PAN and each node MNT can support a maximum of 5 knots PSN.

    Thank you.

If anyone is interested, teamwork to get the material for the latest CCNP security exams, I'm available.

    KA,

The interpretation of the addition of ISE 5, 6 and 7 for the deployment of 7 knots described is correct.

The PSN 5 limit is when you have dual persona (PAN and MnT) nodes. Only when you have dedicated nodes of persona (PAN only on one node, NTMs on a separate node), you can move up the maximum number of PSN past 5 a maximum of 40.

(I spent the SISAS test last month.  :))

  • CCNP recertification

    Hello

just to be sure, my CCNP R & S will be expired on February, and I would like to know if security CCNP will recertify my CCNP R & S without CCNA security.

they always said I can't be recertified with any exan CCNP, but the requirement for CCNP dry is dry ccna.

    Please notify.

According to Cisco Certifications IT web site and career paths, your CCNP can be certified by the way of a review of 642 - xxx professional level.

    http://www.Cisco.com/Web/learning/certifications/professional/CCNP/recert.html

All of the CCNP tests appear to be transitional 642 - xxx to xxx - 300, my thought would be so that none of the 300 - xxx for CCNP security exams will work, but it is best to contact Cisco:

1-800-553-6387 training and Certification menu 'Option 4-1'

You must have the CCNA Security certification to receive the CCNP security certification, but has nothing to do with exams. You can pass all exams CCNP security first and then go take the CCNA Security exam and is awarded two certifications at the same time.

  • CCNP certification

    Hello!

I have a certification CCNP routing and switching active until November 2016 and active safety of CCNA until October 2017.

My CCNP R & S certification is about to expire, so I intend to acquire the CCNP security.

Would have written one of the CCNP security exams to recertify my CCNP R & S course or should I write all four CCNP security exams to renew my CCNP R & S class?

    Bala

Passing any 642 - xxx or 300 - xxx (professional level examinations) will extend your CCNA and CCNP certification dates.

  • Renewal of certification for CS-CASAS, CS-CIPSS, CIOSSS and CS-CFWSS

    Hello

I have several certifications that are coming due in 2017.

CS-CASAS, CS-CIPSS, CIOSSS and CS-CFWSS (all are security certifications) - (ASA, IOS, IPS and FW).

I just spent a review for CCNP Collaboration and recertifies my CCNA and CCNP (R & S and security), but the certifications above has not been renewed.

Anyone know how I can renew them?

    Kind regards.

These certifications are all retired and have not been offered as new certifications since April 2014. This is why they are not renewed.

They are not currently required for all career or partner certification status. They were replaced largely with CCNP security curriculum content.

  • Review of CCNA security

My review of CCNA will expire January 2, 2015. I am interested to take the exam for CCNA security this month and I hope it will go for security CCNP after that... I have a few questions

    (1) there is only one available exam IINS 640-554 ?

    (2) if I passed this exam, my certification will be valid for the next two years, because I read somewhere that CISCO is retiring from tests in the coming years.

    (3) my CCNA routing and switching certification will remain valid after clearing this exam?

    (4) I am able to go for the CCNP security after clearing this exam?

so if someone can guide me in the right direction, I will be grateful. Thank you

Exactly. Recertification could also be made with any of the professional level exams. So if you can prepare for one of these more rapid then the IINS, then you can also take this test. But also if you have passed all four CCNP security, you get only the CCNP Sec certificate when you also pass the screening - which is the 640 - 554 for the CCNA Security.

  • CCNP path

    Hi guys,.

I'm pass Linux Cisco field. Saved money, quit my job, have enough time to study, passed my CCNA and study now for CCNP R &.

So far so good-, but as you all know CCNP is much harder and I wonder maybe I should pass just the road and then try to find some work/project to acquire practical experience.

If you had enough time as me - would you satisfy the three - road, switch and Tshoot or you pass only the road for example and then trying to find a job?

Wasn't too much to get all the certificates without any practical experience? I have 3 x 3550 switches at home and I do a lot of labs in GNS3 but anyway...

If I spend only road I would have still more than two "hits" later when I need to renew my certification and also save money...  Although saving money is not the point here.

I tend to believe all three is perhaps the best. Assuming I pass all then in three years I have to go for another CCNP certification (or higher) or can I go for example, CCNA Security (bottom) to renew my registration?

    Thank you very much!

    Daniel

Everyone learns a little differently, but for me the experience is the best teacher. I would try to get a job that gives you experience with routing and switching as soon as possible.

When I hire someone that I would rather they have more hands-on experience than approvals: all other things being equal. Certifications are useful but one indicator of the capacity and interests of the person. The industry is full of people who have crammed the test but cannot configure or troubleshoot a network on their own. Some employers require a certain certification or another, but many waive this requirement if you can demonstrate solid knowledge.

Once you have a CCNP, you can keep current passing all exams professional level (or higher) within 3 years to earn the CCNP. A review of aggregate level is not enough to maintain the current CCNP-level certification. Details of which are published here.

  • 640 554 600-199 (CCNA Security or review SCYBER

    Hi all

Did someone knows what's the difference between these two reviews? Since just reading about it. It seems that the review of the Scyber is more generalized content security and 640-554 is more in depth? I don't know how to compare these, someone has some comments about them?

    Thank you.

Two reviews have different themes as outlines by the plans:

I would also say that CYBERSPACE is more widespread and the CCNA Security is more on the implementation (although my CCNA security exam has already a few years; I did the CYBER review in June).

For the decision that is to be taken:

    • The CCNA Security should be the basis for every other security certification. You are also going to CCNP security later.
    • The CYBER is a specialization, that almost nobody needs and nobody knows. Although the knowledge you gained in preparing for this review is very valuable, I always would consider it a knowledge 'Add-on' that you should go for when you already finished other certifications such as CCNA Security and/or CCNP security.
  • Certification process

I am coming on my CCNA and a question popped into my head. There are different paths, you can hold each certifications, such as routing, switching, wireless, security, data center, ect... But I have to spend all these paths of CCNA exam before I try to go for CCNP? Or can I take CCNA routing and switching and then go for CCNP routing and switching?

Only for the CCNP routing and switching CCNA (R & S) is a sine qua non.

Others are different - CCNP security requires, for example, CCNA Security as a precondition, which itself requires a sine qua non (CCENT, CCNA R & S oou all CCIE)

The best place for these questions is the Cisco Learning Network. Also take a look at the homepage of official certification to the requirements of the final program.

  • CCIP certification is invalid?

    Hello

I currently hold CCIP certification. However his retirement now, is there a deadline for me to migrate to the CCNP service provider?

Or if I continue the track security my validity CCIP CCNP will extend each time I have clear a paper CCNP security paper.

If Cisco did not mention anything now is it possible that my PICC will become invalid & nothing can renew its validity?

    Hoping for the best

  • CCNP 300 - 206 (SENSS) safety switch

    Hi all

Currently, I am studying for CCNP security 300-206 (SENSS).

I came across the following doubts. If they seem to be stupid & funny, I can't go to my car without posting here.

1 > what will happen if we give "Maximum authorized MAC 5" and 'Sticky MAC address' orders together under the same Interface?

2 > does DHCP Snooping Database table stores the NON-DHCP Clients(Lets say static) MAC & IP addresses?

3 > mechanisms made DHCP Snooping and dynamic ARP Inspection will work under the plain layer 2 only choose?

4 > can "Source Guard" stop rough APR, as the dynamic ARP Inspection packages?

5 > private VLAN interfaces can communicate with the primary VIRTUAL local Network Interfaces?

It may need little explanation - here's the scenario:

Suppose we have 100 primary VLAN, VLAN 300 community VLAN 200 and isolated.  And here's the interface assignment:

    GI Gi0/2, 0 / 1--> VLAN 100 primary

    GI Gi0/4, 0 / 3--> community VLAN 200

    GI 0/5, Gi0 / 6--> VLAN isolated 300

But we have converted only Gi0/1 in the Promiscuous Port and mapped VLAN 200 and 300 of VLAN.

    Can Gi 0/3, Gi0/4, Gi 0/5 & Gi0/6 contact GI 0/2?

    Could someone please help?

    Thanks in advance,

    Prasanna Kumar deully

    (1) port-security allows a single MAC by default. Post-it adds the learned address to the config and 'fixed' this address. If you change portsecurity to allow five addresses, then all these up to five addresses are added to the configuration.

    (2) No, if you use this table for other functions such as DAI or IPSG, you will need to define exceptions of static for systems without DHCP. Before you implement these features, I make sure that ideally all systems use DHCP. Cameras, printers, multifunction devices and so on. Many of them get bookings on the DHCP server, but they must use the DHCP protocol to do functions such as DAI and IPSG very.

    (3) what is a "simple layer 2 switch' for you? Today, the definition of Layer2 or Layer 3 defines how the device it is transmission. A Catalyst 2960 is generally used with Layer2 forwarding. But this does not mean that there is no function to look in the payload and to inspect the traffic up to the application layer. These functions are also available on the older Catalyst 2950 (initially there wasn't no DAI, but DHCP Snooping) and are now available on all switches access (catalyst).

    (4) function no, each has its own security function. DAI is to inspect the ARP-payload, IPSG is to inspect the source addresses.

    (5) don't know what you mean...

If Gi0/3-Gi0/6 are configured for private VLANs as shown, then they can communicate directly with Gi0/2. If they are not yet configured (I guess that's what you mean by "converts"), as they are probably members of a VLAN different and can communicate with Gi0/2 through a Layer 3 device.

Given that the collaboration of CCNA is a sine qua non can someone tell me the correct list collaboration CCNA exam?

Should I 210-060 and 210-065 CIVND DSMB for the Collaboration of CCNA?

Yes, you must complete the 210-060 & 65 reviews to obtain co-operation of CCNA. Prerequisites for collaboration CCNP is "certification valid CCNA Collaboration or any Cisco CCIE certification can act as a sine qua non.
