  I need some advice, and it would be SUCH a time saver if someone more experienced could help...

  I create a project using slides both interactive and demonstration projects. Everything works fine, except when I'm going to copy the slides of the demo for a demonstration project.

  I play the slide on the side of the demo, and it looks great. However, when I copy into my kernel project, the slide is messed up and the part I click on in the demo gets magnified. In addition, the part of the text of the demo starts banging on a completely different part of the page.

  I tried a lot of things, and at this point, it's just frustrating.

  Any ideas?

  The resolution is different between the demo and the project to which you are copying the slides? If you copy to a project that has a different resolution, ruin to the location and the size of the object is a typical result.

• 7 copy slides with Captivate advanced Actions

  Hello

  I have a number of slides that I want to copy and paste into a new project. Many of these slides can click to display the advanced type of interactions.  When I copy and paste slides in a new project, advanced interactions do not seem to copy.  Does anyone know how to copy and paste slides into a new project and interaction advanced so that I don't have to recreate the variables and interactions?   I tried the following Adobe Captivate help, but I lost.

• Copy slides from one project to another (2 different resolutions)

  I have 2 projects of different resolutions (long story) and I want to copy the slides in the smaller project in the cotyledon. But keep the same resolution. (I want to create the Visual of a computer monitor showing the demonstration, as that is the lower resolution to I can have PC monitor as a backdrop)

  When I copy the slides, they are by default resize themselves for the biggest project and I can't change them.

  is there advice?

  is there a 'special' block when it comes to slides?

  Small projects are demonstrations having someone else did for me (so I can't really re - record)

  I want to just try to make them look a little more visually pleasing

  The solution is to:

  • Take a copy of your smaller project and work on that, not the original (in case of screwups).
  • Resize the smallest project using modify > resize the project options.
  • Be sure to work carefully how to increase the size of the stage WITHOUT changing the size of the existing content.  Basically, you want to add an extra space around your current content so that it is now sitting in the middle of the scene.
  • Once you have managed to get your content to the same size as the largest project, copy and paste slides on.
  • You may be able to develop a nice graph of a monitor with a hole in it.  Place it on the slide (or slides model) so that it lies on top of your smaller other screenshots to give effect to look at the screen.

• Close up lens for copied to digital slides

  I would use a Canon 500 d or 250 d close up lens with my 18-55 II or EFS EFS 55-250 II on a Rebel T3 to copy slides to digital.  Has anyone tried one of these combinations with success?

  I was paying too much attention to your question abou the 250 d and 500 d I missed the original topic - you want to scan slides.

  (a) a close-up filter is not appropriate.  Only a true '1:1 ' objective macro scale can do (for example the Macro USM lens EF-S 60mm f/2.8)

  but...

  (b) do not buy a goal for work of scanning... use a film scanner... a real film scanner.

  You could also...

  (c) consider all this sends to a service of analysis rather than yourself.  They are likely to have the best equipment and more experience.

  I think you will find that this is normal.

  All objects within a Captivate movie has a unique ID.  The slide number and the name of the same slide that you give to the slide are some of the labels assigned to the object. ID of the object is probably a randomly generated figure that we never see. So if you have configured a landslide to navigate to another slide in the original film, there is no guarantee that a slide with the same unique ID will be in the next movie that slide is copied in.

  If the Captivate developers seem to have designed that will be default parameters that are safe to copy a slide from one project to the other.

  In addition, you will find that if you copy a legend or another element of the slide from one project to the other, Captivate renames the item name.  It is once more to avoid conflicts where more than one element in a movie could end up with the same ID and destabilize.

  So, although the way that Captivate is designed can mean extra for you work when you copy slides across, it will prevent your film to become corrupt or unstable.

• Size of the very large file for a single slide - is this normal?

  I work at 8 Captivate with .cptx file size ~ 500MB. I wanted to send an example of a click box (including placement, size and text indication) to a colleague. To make it easy for him, I want to send a single slide with this interaction, so it can copy and paste.

  I saved the file under a new name, and then I deleted all other slides. The size of the new file was still almost 400 MB! Then I deleted all unused library items and the link to a .ppt presentation. This reduces the size to about 300 MB.

  Am I missing something? Is this normal?

  It's normal... Unfortunately.

  Copy slides in a new empty project of the same size.  It should be small then.

• copy/paste in CP8

  Problems when copying in CP8.  We did a series of copy of another application blocks last week and everything went well.  Open the same project Monday and content copied from another slide to a new slide. By subsequently tried to copy and paste of the other application one more time and if you have selected paste it stick just the info copied slide previously and not the content, I had copied to paste.

  We cleared the cache and opened and closed the project and CP8 nothing helps.

  Ideas, any help would be appreciated.

  Such behavior is almost always a problem of it resources.

  If you copy from another application and paste in Word (for example), he stick with success?

  You probably just need to reboot... and for the future resolution, increase the system memory (and make sure that you have plenty of available disk space).

  OR if you can find a program that will purge the Windows Clipboard, which can help to solve the problem...

  Problem: how to have an overview of the effects (such as drop shadow) applied to the objects (jpg) on a question slide.

  Situation: Quiz to tell 5 random questions drawn from a pool of 50 questions multiple choice.

  
  Questions pool Panel:
  I'm building the Quizzing question slides workspace.
  I can view the slide and add questions and answers + jpg images that may be necessary.

  If I want to add a shadow to an image, I select the object (img) and place you in the effect controls panel.
  I add a drop shadow and can make adjustments, BUT the effect is not visible on the slide.

  F3 slide... Does not show the effect.
  F4 project... would take too long AND would be not safe to view the slide at which I had added the image effect.
  F12 browser... shows the entire project with 5 random questions but not necessarily the specific slide.

  F8 this slide... If I select a blank Question slide at random, it shoots a question of the pool of 50, but not necessarily that I'm working on.
  F10 then 5 slides... same problem as F8

  Unacceptable workaround solution:
  I can create another pool 'test', containing one question.
  Copy slides edited to "test the pool and the preview with F8 or F10.
  A lot of extra work...

  Then the effect works and would weigh on the finished quiz... BUT... I can't (without a lot of P'ing on) Preview and adjust effects applied to a question slide.

  If you want to test the effects on a particular slide of your pool of the Question, and you don't want to publish all slides to see it, just click with the right button on the slide in the question pool and select move Question to > the project main.

  Then, you will be able to preview the effects as with any other slide.  When you know that the slide is over, just get him back in the Question pool.

• Copy of list of disabling action

  I tried to disable the exemplary action for the Spark list component (I need only to move, copy makes no sense for my request), but I have really no idea how do without drag and drop manually re-implement.

  I don't think that there is a way to check if a key is pressed at some point in time, so I'm really ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I think that I would set up a Manager dragEnter and dragOver, set event.ctrlKey =

  true and does not call preventDefault().  There is a total hack, but should work.

• Problems of importation of slides / Captivate 3

  I have a series of 6 related Captivate projects, as well as one I use as a template. Given that certain content shared, I need to be able to copy slides from one project to the other, but I have serious problems with import. When I try to import slides from one project to another, usually what happens is the process is running (slowly) and then I get an additional blank slide (no matter how I tried to import). Or nothing at all.
  
  I have tried everything I can think of-importation of slides only (no object), import to and to leave only for very small projects, excluding the slides in the issue of import, import of small series of slides - contiguous and do not clear the cache, my disk cleanup, restart...
  
  I'm puzzled. If something is watered? Any ideas I can try? I have in the past had no trouble w/import, even within this set of files...
  
  I am using Captivate 3 & XP.

  I tried a suggestion from Rick (Captiv8r) in response to another position, and so far, it seems to have been a miracle cure for this and a few other headaches. The solution is to delete or rename this file: captivate_v30.dat

  I use TMA to copy slides. Image is all 5 with a hidden. I stretch the mask to include all images'

  and after analysis, I get the travel of slides. Is it possible to get the strip of spit in the orinals 5 and then save them. I have Photoshop as well as Arcsoft, but images splitting is a tedious job. Someone knows how to do this?

  It's maybe a stupid question, but I hope I get some answers.

  I recorded three modes (demo, training and evaluation) at the same time and no problem with that.

  What I would like is the learner to go through step 1 (demo), and directly after come in step 2 (training) and the last but not the least, step 3 (evaluation).

  My problem is that I don't really know how to "merge" the set modes (looks that each mode has turned into an own project if you know what I mean.)

  What I need to save each project mode in a certain format, or how to do this?

  You have 3 folders open 3-legged.

  Select all of the slides in the Fillmstrip of the sim card of training with CTRL-A and

  copy (CTRL-C). Go to the demo tab, select the last slide in the

  Fimstrip, paste the copied slides. Same workflow for evaluation slidrs.

  Can anyone help? I downloaded an interactive drag and drop assets. ELearning brothers has a video that shows how do. But no idea how to insert/import a CPTX file downloaded WITH an existing captivate project in order to to use. I noticed someone else posted a similar question, but no one could answer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

  You don't insert a CPTX in the other.  However, you can copy a CPTX slide in the other, as long as they are of the same height and width.  However, you should be aware that if you copy slides, then the objects on the slide master will see new object names (IDs) that can break some pre-built interactions.  I've not used one interactions E-learning brothers so I don't know if this would be the case with them.  You might be more prudent to start with the eLearning brothers CPTX and copy your other project slides in it.

• My conditional Actions become advanced actions?

  This happened to me like 5 times... I always use variables to create checkpoints on the subjects or the buttons, so when my student visit them all Cp invites with a Windows with something like: congratulations, you've seen then all now to the next slide, blah blah...

  BUT: The conditional actions often turn into advanced actions and some actions that I had programmed, make me start all lose... (I have backups, but very annoying sound copy slides, which causes problems of its own related actions).

  Anyone know why this happens? I understand that this only happens when I continue to make changes in my project, but I always try to leave the variables and objects involved in the action intact.
