Hello:

Yes, there is a relatively easy solution.

One of the troubleshooting steps on the link below (2, 3, 4 or 5) should solve the problem.

First try the # 2 because it is the easiest.

  • I have a computer running VISTA. The CD-ROM/DVD-rom does not work and can not read the CD of the program that I placed in it.

It won't read a DVD.  It will not read ANY CD or DVD.  I tried 12 different CD/DVD.  This isn't an upgrade to Vista; the computer came "made for Vista" with Vista installed on it.  I had added Nero.  I removed Nero.  I did all the updates. I have not released the driver and reinstalled.  He claims to have the latest driver software, but it won't work.  The computer can see the CD/DVD, but he calls it a 'CDROM '.  It is not the case.  It is a DVD/Cd-RW with Labelflash.

I did everything suggested that past discussions.  I ran FIXIT program that claims that the drive works properly.  It is not the case.

I tried to get various programs to recognize.  They cannot see the installed media.

    I uninstalled iTunes.

Please do not give me the answer of cut-and - paste stock; It does not work.

Please tell me what to do to make Vista see the media inserted in the CD/DVD-RW drive.

    Thank you.

    Reset.

    Hello

There are two possible reasons why you are not able to copy anything to the CD or DVD.

First, it may be possible that the drives used are not entirely compatible.
In such cases, it s always advisable to test different CD and DVD from different manufacturers.

Secondly, the issue could be related to a defective laser lens; in many cases, this can happen because of a physical constraint. If the laser lens can not calibrate in a good position, then the player will not be able to handle the inserted discs.
This could be the worst case, because this issue is not repairable. Just a STRANGE replacement could help.

"windows could not complete the format".

    Who's a software or a hardware problem?

    waiting for help!

This means that your CD/DVD drive no longer works and is not recognized by the system?

If Yes, then I would recommend checking this Toshiba document that I found on the portal of the knowledge base site:

+ Why my CD/DVD drive does not work after upgrade to Windows 8? +
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ2B03F10002R01.htm

You must uninstall the programs from Toshiba:
    TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator
    TOSHIBA Disc Creator

  • Mat * one years (uj-840) DVD player does not work properly

The Mat * one years (uj-840) DVD player does not work properly.
A symptom of the problem is that the icon does not appear in 'my computer '.
more and she does not recognize the CD.

I went to the properties of the drive through Device Manager and saw the following message is displayed:

"Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. »

Following the instruction of the troubleshooter, I tried to update my driver through
Device Manager, but it tells me that the current driver is the more up-to-date version.
In the properties of the drive, I found that my driver version is: 5.1.2535.0

What is a simple problem that has a solution?
I don't see other actions to find the root of the problem.

    Thank you

  • Satellite L500 - 1CQ PSLS0E - CD/DVD drive does not work - driver problem?

    Hello

My DVD player does not work.

There is power to it. The engine turns when I eject and reinsert. Troubleshooting Control Panel for the equipment and devices said it is a driver problem, but cannot fix it. Problem with the driver.

I reinstalled it from the Toshiba site.
It records in the right place?
I am Windows 7 64 bit and chose the right driver for it.

    Should I use the 64-bit?
I have 3 MB of RAM which was the spec when bought.

If I wanted to change to 32 bit how you take you without the CD/DVD drive?
Is there any point in doing this?

    Thank you

    Richard

    Hello

To be honest I m a bit confused.
You are not able to boot from THE disks; Windows disk, disk recovery, disk Linux?

If it of the case, then it means that your CD/DVD drive is faulty.
Why? Because the CD/DVD drive is recognized and controlled by the BIOS when booting from CD or DVD.

When the Windows operating system has started, the CD/DVD drive must use the Microsoft common driver which is part of the Windows operating system.
This means that you n t need to install ALL the drivers in order to get the job of CD/DVD.

If you can boot from any disk, but if the CD/DVD drive is not recognized by MY computer, then I recommend this:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/270008/en-us

Before you remove the upper and lower registry filters, remove the CD/DVD drive in Device Manager and then go into the registry and remove the filters. Restart the unit.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A200 - 19L: no sound after hibernation & CD/DVD drive does not work

Thirdly, after the formula of the week 3 buy the computer also dvd - cd player has the same problem, like the sound and when you open my computer that NO cd\dvd drive icon and when I put a cd or dvd, it does not work or run and it happens all the time, even if the laptop restarts.

(Sorry for my bad English, but I hope you understand the problems)

    Hey Osama

I think I can help you. The questions that appear on your laptop are not serious and the only one associated with software or registry.

    Regarding your noise problem:
    Please check this Microsoft document
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929685/en-us
    or
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/937077/

the MS update must be downloaded and installed ;)

    Regarding the missing CD/DVD drive;
I think you should try to remove the drive from Device Manager and reboot the laptop. Then the operating system should recognize the STRANGE again.
Secondly you should access the registry editor and should remove the upper filter and bring back the key filter
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
