My CD/DVD read more records. I put in a disc and it does not detect either he (it's as if I was never to put a), or it takes forever to load. Also, I can't read game discs so I can't play my games. Please help me!

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

  • Audio & CD/DVD drive not working only not with Vista

I have a laptop HP V6500 Pressario, with Vista Home Basic installed recently. I have two problems with my laptop:

1 > there is no sound, and I see the error "no audio device is installed" with a red cross on the "speaker" icon.
2 > drive CD/DVD is not visible in 'my computer '.

These two problems are persistent, but begin to work from time to time, say once 20 times when I turn on the laptop, I see the CD drive and also audio works, but these work only for about 10 minutes...

I tried the Dr.Fixit and it did not help and have also installed the latest drivers for my notebook to the hp site:
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=2093&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=3550002

Any help to solve these problems is much appreciated... Thanks in advance

    Hey riri,.

Try these steps and check the result.
Step 1: Delete the invalid registry keys
    1. Click Start, type regedit and press to enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
    2. in the navigation pane, find and then click the following registry subkey:
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. in the right pane, click UpperFilters.
Note: You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You don't have to delete this entry. Click UpperFilters. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you may still have to delete the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 6.
    4. in the Edit menu, click on delete.
    5. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    6. in the right pane, click LowerFilters.
Note: If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, unfortunately this content cannot help you further.
    7. on the Edit menu, click on delete.
    8. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    9. exit the registry editor.
    10. restart the computer.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: see How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
Step 2: Uninstall any software CD/DVD burning.
    1. Click Start, type appwiz.cpl and press to enter.
    2. from the list of programs, select CD/DVD burning software and click on uninstall.
    3. once the uninstall, restart the computer.

Step 3: Install device drivers in a new user account.
    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    2. click on manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. click on create a new account.

    4. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite A130: Fn key not working only not with Vista - only FlashCards

    Hello

I've been looking around in the forums, but I couldn't find solutions to my problem.

I have a satellite A130 and I am running a windows VISTA family Basic. I have a problem with my fn functions.
I can only use flash on the top of my screen cards, just by dragging my mouse upwards on the top of my screen.

The key works only when I start my computer, at startup, but when the computer is running, there is no other "fn", I could use but my mouse to show my flash cards and use them.

Is there something else I could do?
    Thank you

I have same situation, remove the starting windows for the form Flash cards and you have no pictures at the top of the desctop, but keys will work.

  • Age of Mythology Gold Edition works only not with Vista 64

Ok. Same computer. Different operating systems it works very well. It is a problem of Vista 64. When I start Age of Mythology or Age of Mythology Titans he keeps asking the number of CD 1. This version came on a DVD. Even if the DVD is in the DVD player I am always asked the same question. What is going on? How should I do? Oh! The other operating system, I've tried is 32-bit Windows XP. Yes it is a 64-bit computer.

    For those who are interested,
I tried all the proposals by Gloria. No worked. There is no update I can find on the Microsoft Web site. So! If you want to use your Windows XP games, you need to do. It is still possible to run the 32-bit of Windows XP on a 64 bit system. I created a system boot duel using Vista 64-bit and 32-bit of Windows XP. The system is set to boot Vista normally. You can select Windows XP 32 bit on startup when you want your 32-bit games. I was forced to do it with my MSTS as well. I have a control RailDriver. There can be no drivers 64 bit at the time of writing.
The foregoing is shared so that others can benefit form, what has been done. By the way. Not all 32-bit games need this treatment.

Thanks for posting on the community forum is ready for Windows 7.

Try to remove the filters from the registry, see if that helps with this problem.

      Collapse this includes this image

type regedit in the Search box, and then click regedit in the programs list.

      Collapse this includes this image

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    Hello

I have a new laptop under Vista Home Premium.
First thing I'm trying to install is the driver Toshiba Dynadock - new model of a PA3542E-2PRP (with DVI port).

Immediately ythe driver is installed, an alert appears explaining that the color palette will be changed because of the incompatibility. In others, the laptop screen turns off completely (until I have remove the connection to the dynadock, when she returns to normal). I then install the updated driver from the site Web of Toshiba (proposed in previous thread by Eldorado 17 Jul 07). I have trouble to install it correctly, but when I do, it corrupts one of the laptop video cards.

It have since then done a 'restoration' on the laptop, so am at square one. However, I am wanting to continue using the Dynadock if possible - of the very welcome suggestions please!

    Thanks in advance

If I understand correctly, you were able to install the software on Vista Dynadock, but now the graphics driver installed doesn't work as it should I am mistaken?

Well in your case I n t see no problem with Dynadock but driver you graph. Therefore, an update of the graphics card driver would be desirable

  • Questions of BitLocker read only not my USB key at startup to test before encryption Win 7 ultimate

My computer hp laptop has TPM and bios is up to date as far as I know. To be honest, I'm sure that's not bios issue or a USB problem.

I scoured internet and found the same unresolved issues with no will. For some reason any bitlocker app WILL create a key USB and MPT will be turned on. However, and fortunately, when I leave a test before the actual encryption process, Bitlocker will give me an error code saying that the key could not be detected on the USB after the reboot.

If anyone of you has a real address and went through this answer please. If you don't know what you are talking about please pass. I just need to run more.

Thank you and much obliged to those who can solve this problem.

After deducting - more to guess and pray - I tried two things. Firstly I have updated the bios on the Hp page. To be honest I don't think it was the cure.

What I think don't have it really that my USB drive has not been formatted to NTFS. Effing Windows says nothing of this during the test before encryption. I strongly advice that this is done before you encrypt, then check the box before you start! USB is in FAT32 or whatever and once I transferred all the files on hard drive and then deleted everything I formatted, it new and transferred all back. I then tried again to encrypt and Windows Ultimate edition finally recognize the encryption key on the USB port and have begun to encrypt - which takes a lot of time on my 500g SSD.

before to make this mark of course, you delete the previous Bitlocker and TPM key facts of the attempts failed, so you don't get confused. The computer that is known, but unless you wrote, or have a photographic memory, you might get confused as well.* *.

In addition, I don't know if it would have made a difference, but I reset the Bios to factory settings before the the reattempt and I deleted the password BIOS TPM preceding on the USB as well, so I'm not confused. My system is pretty bone bare, so nothing has been maleffected. Restart the BIOS will ask you if you want to make these changes or not.

I hope this helps. I know that whenever I'm searching for answers here they never really. Most of the answers just to get out of the people *. See you soon!
