If you cannot remove a CD from the drive, starighten a paper clip and push it into the small hole on the front of the car. This will manually open the drive.

If you look closely at the front of your CD/DVD drive, you should see a small hole.
If you gently insert a paper clip into the hole, you can release the drive tray.

For any other problem of CD/DVD:

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

  • DVD WILL NOT EJECT

THE CD WILL NOT EJECT BUTTON HAVING HIT REJECT BUT THE CD EJECT WONT

If you look at the drive itself, it should be a small hole that you can use a paper clip to manually eject the CD. Have you tried to manually power down/up the PC to see if it makes a difference?

    I hope this helps.

  • CD will not eject - Pavilion 6400 - no manual eject hole

Do not eject a cd of my Pavilion, 6400, which doesn't have a manual eject hole to stick a paper clip in. Clicking on eject on the computer of the road yields only noise and a failure message.  Suggestions please?

As you do not give a complete model #, I had to guess your HP a6400f desktop. The shares identical wille for most desktop computers. The easiest way would be to turn off the computer and with a toothpick (less chance of scratching the front cover) actually tilt delinquency records cover plate. Once down, you will see the CD/DVD drive has only manual eject hole. Now use your for trombone.

If your problems flipping to the bottom of the cover plate, consult this manual upgrade and Service.

Just remove the side panel, then remove the front cover.

  • My CD will not eject

I just burn the music to a CD with itunes and when it was done I took it out and put it back to test. all the songs were there and I tried to remove it to make the next cd (I was doing the audio CD and there were 29 songs) but it would not eject. no lights when I pressed the button or anything (I'm using a toshiba laptop with a compact disc DVD player rewritable ultra-high speed). I also tried the eject button on iTunes and nothing happened

    Hi Tarn25,
There are reasons a little DVD tray in your laptop can not open when you click on the eject button. The worst thing if the engine or the gear train failed, which would mean to replace the drive. If the disc in the drive is OK, you know the power and connector are fine. If this isn't the case, you should try to replace the drive in the Bay. It is also possible for the reader to be locked in the software by operating system, or a system of management of power to have cut the power to the car. Check these by right clicking on the drive icon and checking the properties or watching you power settings management. But when all else fails and you can't get the disc from the drive, there's always THE MIGHTY TROMBONE.

Start by unfolding one leg for most of a paper clip diameter that can fit into the hole on the front of the player. Then insert it directly into the hole and if you're lucky, there will bee a small click before it goes very far, and the tray ejects a fraction of an inch.

Let me know if you still experience this issue.

  • I ned to know how to get this drive that will not eject. I have an emachine

    How to get out

    Hello

    1. what operating system do you use?

2 did you change on your computer?

    3. are you able to eject the disc using the Eject from Windows Explorer?

    4. are - that you talk to a CD/DVD or external hard drive?

    Method 1:

I also suggest that you shut down the computer before it performs the operation ejection by a trombone.
I suggest you follow the step how to eject the disc and check.
    (a) locate the optical drive that contains your stuck drive. You will see a small hole on or immediately below the disc tray.
    (b) straighten the paper clip.
    (c) Insert the right end of the paperclip into the hole and push. You should snap inside the locking mechanism.
    (d) gently pull the paperclip. The disc tray will come with it.
    (e) remove the CD / DVD and close the drawer.

    Method 2:

I also suggest you to control in safe mode and run clean boot.

  • External hard drive will not eject

As I encrypted my external hard drive, it does not stop running after I press eject. He disappears from the sidebar in the Finder, but it does not stop running. I deleted and connected it several times and the same thing happens every time. It can be dangerous to drive or is it OK to remove it even if it is still ongoing? Is there anyway to solve this problem so that he stops running when the ejection? Or is there an another way to delete if eject does not work? I have a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.5.

One that you eject the disc and it disappears from the Finder, it's OK to disconnect/manually turn off the external drive.

  • Portege R700-1E8: DVD player will not eject tray

    Hello
My DVD does not open the tray.
When I hit eject I hear any attempt to open and after a few seconds the lights go on but the drawer does not open.

Is there a solution for this. I unplugged my PC and I tried ejecting with power on my PC and it works well, able to open and close the knob. I know that it is software related, but I don't know how to fix it.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you, Iris

    Hello

    > Is there a solution for this.

There should be a small, very small hole near the eject button.
You can open the drawer manually insert a thin object such as staple or paper clip into this hole.
The tray should eject and you should be able to insert a disc

PS: In my opinion his software problem is NOT from the plateau ODD is not controlled by a software
