Ceases to be the beach ball of death when access to documents via the file menu.

Hi all

A he's think I need to do is click on the file menu and it keeps just do. Bug? is there any solution for this?

My whole team is having this problem after that that they have upgraded to 2015 CC.

This makes indesign unusable and completely unnecessary.

Please a little help!

Same problem and trashing preferences have worked.  Boring to rebuild the workspace but at least I'm working again.

    Hi people,

I have been enduring the beach ball of death from a spinning some time now in the calculation of my daily life and I just can't take longer, as long as it happens little matter what I do on the Mac, and performance are slowed by the glaciers.

    It happens all the time.

I ran several ladies of virus, including clams and none of them came with something.

The problem came slowly over a long period of time. Now, however, the beach ball takes over whenever I'm on Mac to the point that I have to force quit, and then restart just to get anything done, and even then, it is not long until the ball is back and performance slows down again.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Please post a report of EtreCheckof your system. We then look for obvious problems. Please click on the link, download the application and run the report. Once you have the report, please copy and paste into your response to this post.

It is very possible that your problem much worse by installing antivirus on your computer applications. AV apps for Mac are useless, there is no virus for OS X. Most tend to create more problems than they solve so look for developers instructions to uninstall (s) installed and uninstall them.  Run the EtreCheck report after it has been uninstalled. OS X needs no antivirus, cleanup or ANY third party maintenance apps. If left alone and simply updated OS X will run well for most users for years!

  • Delay in the selection of the file menu

    InDesign running 11.0.1.105 on OS X 10.10.5.

When I click on the file menu, there's ALWAYS a second from 2-4 behind, a spin fast ball of beach and then the menu opens. This happens only in the file menu; all other menus opens as expected - quickly and instantly. Is there the dynamic topics in the menu file that must be updated on the fly, from the network, etc. ? Does not include why this would happen only with the file menu. I tried this with open and no files open at all, after a reboot of the system/InDesign, without success.

Any ideas on what is happening, what can I check?

Try going into preferences and recent files menu the value 0.

  • New window only opens a new window without worrying if I do a Ctrl-N or select it from the file menu.

It doesn't matter if I select the new window on the file menu; do a Ctrl-N; or select Open link in a new window when I right click on a link, nothing happens. I can open a new tab with no problems, but not in a new window. I am running Windows Vista 32-bit.

I think that what happens starting after the version 16, which was a few years ago... back then, I just stop using Firefox. However, I would like firstly using Firefox as my main browser and would like to be able to open new windows instead of new tabs. Please notify.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Make sure that your security software is not blocking the new window.

Start the computer in Mode safe mode with network support Windows (on the startup screen, press F8) to see if that helps.

Thanks for posting the details of your system. I'm skeptical about the "CompTool0234 Community Toolbar". Could you disable some add-ons and see if that helps.

    On this tab:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category

    Disable «Conduit Plugin»

    On this tab:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

    Disable the CompTool0234 community toolbar.

Then very probably a link will appear to restart Firefox to make the change. Does make a difference?

    Question
I can't get the tabs of the previous session of the return when I reopen it Firefox. I tried closing with 'Close' header of Firefox window, but also 'Quit' in the file Menu. Note that "Restoration of previous Session" on my Menu history is grayed out so I can't use it. In addition, there is no tab at the top of my window to open Firefox Firefox - only a menu bar that shows "File", "Edit", "View", "History", "Favorites", "Tools" and "Help". I am running Windows 7 Home Professional and Firefox 4.01
