CF8 on 32-bit Server 2008 installation Issues

Install new Server 2008 with IIS7, new download CF8 developer version (not the 64-bit version).  The administrator will not be displayed.  When I go to the administrator, I get a 404 not found error.  When I browse Explorer (not IE), it is there.  Everything is installed in the default folders.  I added the MIME Type (application/x-cfm) .cfm via the Service Manager IIS and that did not help.  Our other servers are Server2003 and install CF8 was a breeze.  We can view HTML pages.

Anyone have any ideas?

This might help:

  • Server 2008 Network issues: supposed routing problem

    Hey,.

I'm quite new to ESXi and virtualization, but after going to a network of customers of the otherday and the discovery of a few quirks, I downloaded ESXi5 and I am experiancing the same weird questions here.

Essentially the issue I found was that I could perform nslookup against a name short end but ping or attempt to connect to a share on the short name did not work.

Ping or connect to a share on FQDN works as expected as the fact using one IP address.

I installed a new copy of ESXi5 and then treated a virtual computer running server 2008 here in the House.

Upon installation, the machine could not ping itself or any network with a name short but device could run nslookups.

New ping and connect to shares works very well on IP and domain FULL name

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere.

    Dave

EDIT: I will add that I installed a copy of Server 2008 on a standard in the House and short machine work exactly as expected.

Edit 2: I looked into this more and my routing table shows 0.0.0.0 network - prefix 0 - Gateway 192.168.0.1.

This network has no switches, concentrators, simple as it is just a test home network. How can I solve this problem of routing?

    It's the magic screenshot

The ping command is interpreting your hostname, 0x3c, as a hexadecimal number and deciding that you want to ping 0.0.0.60. Is not a valid remote, so ping generates an unknown error.

It is strongly recommended that a Windows Server name starts with a letter, and you have found one of the strange bugs about why.

  • New VC 4.1 with SQL Server 2008 installation

SQL and VC on the same physical server.

Operating system is Win2008 R2 64 bit, installed SQL Server 2008 64 bit, created by 64-bit ODBC DSN, installed VC 4.1

When we arrived to the ports and tried to accept the default Port 80 has received an error "already in use."

We do not have any statement in the SQL, then I think that Reporting SERVICES is not installed.  We changed the port 8081 and collected by the mistake, but I learned by VMware support this causes big problems when you install the Update Manager, port 80 must be used for updates.

    Has anyone encountered this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For me the solution was to stop the SQL reporting services... They were using ports 80 and 443.

  • PowerEdge 1850 - Win Server R2 installation Issues 2012

Try to install Win Server R2 2012 on my PowerEdge 1850 servers.  I have the installation on a USB bootable (created using Rufus).  The system starts and begins to load files in preparation for the installation of Windows and then I see the following:

I tried recreating the USB on different drives and you still receive this error message.  I also tried to turn the OS Install option in the BIOS on Off.  When I do this, it goes to the Windows Logo but immediately fails and restarts.  Any ideas?

8G servers are not compatible with the R2 in 2012... not all simply not supported - not compatible. You can run in 2012, but not R2. 2008 R2 is the ideal operating system for this generation of server.

  • My PC will not repair or install an operating system. I tried with Vista, 7 and Windows Server 2008 installation media, but it does not get as much as the first menu.

As it is said above. Everything worked fine until a few days ago. Now, it will fail to start correctly wih STOP 0 x 00000024 (ntfs corruption), but I can't boot from any installation media to reinstall the OS or repair Vista. All I get is the wallpaper but no menu. I tried to unplug the SATA HDD and inserting an IDE drive with no effect.

I can't start to BACK among the several start-up/repair CD I tried but I am unable to boot from a DVD of Windows XP PE (BartPE or Hiren boot CD), but I can boot Knoppix Linux (5.3.1 and 6.4.3).

All I want to do is run chkdsk /r and then either to repair or install a new OS to make it work again.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Dave,.

You can read the following article which talks about the same issue:

    Error message in Windows 2000: "Stop 0 x 24 ' or «NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM»

Note: The steps mentioned in the article apply to Windows Vista n 7, so operating systems.

    1. do you have the original supplied with the computer disks?

2 have you tried to use the original Vista disks?

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit - 2nd PC installation issue

I bought a PC in 2013 which came with Win7 Home Premium DVD, which I installed it myself. No problem, all good - not until now. The hard drive is dead and I need to reinstall on a new HD and, in the process, a new PC too.

I did, but after 30 days, there is a message stating that the software is not legitimate, no doubt, as it was installed on the original PC. Now, there is limited functionality.

It seems to imply that it is only possible to install it on the PC, it has been applied for in the first place. As I paid for it and have the DVD in my hands, how to install and work on this second PC now? It seems unfair that I have to pay again, although I was under the impression that the software can be installed on up to three PCs anyway.

    Thank you very much.

If the license that came with your computer is an OEM Windows 7 Home Premium, then you can not transfer it.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • Installation of Windows Server 2008 from downloaded files

I have a new server ESXi of nu metal and you want to install Windows Server 2008 remotely.

I plan to download the Windows Server 2008 installer for the data store, but the user guide mentions the download an ISO file. I have the CD of Microsoft but not a single ISO.

So my question is, can I download the contents of the CD or should I create a bootable ISP to get this installation started?

MagicISO should be good do the job. You don't have to worry about doing whatever it is bootable. When you create an ISO image for a bootable CD/DVD already all these things start will appear in the image.

  • Install Server 2008 on a PE r200 without a DVD player

About 22 days ago I made the mistake of buying a refurbished from Dell PE r200. The server does not include a BONE - which was okay with me - and it arrived timely. Since it has not come with a DVD player and I wanted to install Windows Server 2008 64-bit, I ordered a DVD SATA drive at the same time as the server. That has turned into a debacle/fiasco/nightmare and I don't always have a DVD player and I will buy servers for me and my clients to HP in the future.

Meanwhile the SATA DVD drive happen at Dell, I tried two drives DVD USB external different to install the OS and, although both drives start on DVD ok Dell systems Mgmt, when comes the time to insert the support of Windows 2008, I get an error "invalid Microsoft Windows Server 2008 media was not found. Insert the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 installation media into the DVD - ROM device'.

I don't understand why the media are not be seen, but this turns into a trend and I'm looking for another way to install.

I saw the mention of a way to install using a DRAC card (which I have) and I wonder if this is applicable in my case. If so, can someone let me know the steps or direct me to them.

The server has the latest version of the BIOS.

    Thank you
