change column width window 8 mail app

Hello

In my Windows 8 Mail application, I have three columns. "First on the left is a list of my boxes for example Inbox. It is the middle column next I want to change. It gives the title of the email and the time and date. Currently the time shows (on the right side) but only the first part of the date, or not at all. I need to see the date. I need to widen the column, so the date shows or push this text above. All solutions?

I don't think that the width of the columns can be changed in the Mail application.  The apps are very basic and not as advanced as an appropriate program.

Have you considered using another e-mail program and it works in desktop Mode?

Perhaps, Windows Live Mail?

Original title: Calibri 12 No 11?

Why is the font of default mail Calibri 12 and not 11? All other MS products use Calibri 11 and my emails look like they came the first blackberry whenever my colleagues open them. The solution is to change each email to Calibri 11, but it's so ghetto. How to get something like this loser? Please tell me the registry key to resolve this issue.

  • Cannot send mail from Windows 8 Mail app

Installed Win8 pro (upgrade to win7 x 64) a few days before and set up the Mail app to work with all my email accounts. I have several: a gmail, an outlook.com and three or four regular POP3/IMAP on mine, hosted domains. The problem is I can't send e-mails from any IMAP accounts or the account of outlook.com. I receive emails OK but sending does not work - they end just the Outbox and then nothing happens.

This doesn't seem to be a problem of parameters - I use the same settings as in my Outlook 2010 client and I chatted with hosting support (they confirmed my settings, each of them). However, I noticed that when manually "sync" I got error messages saying temporary get accounts are 'not available' (top right). This is true for my POP3/IMAP accounts as well as the outlook.com account. May be a temporary problem, however, since I have no problem receiving e-mails.
I used a downloadable apps Win8 mechanic I found here at Microsoft Answers, but he found nothing. And nobody else seems to have this problem (neither here, nor on other forums). What could be wrong?
Any suggestions on how to deal with this issue would be greatly appreciated. I was hoping to invest in a Windows Phone 8 later, but I would like to first of all of course e-mail work.

Please wait for the update to be available in different markets. The 16.4.4406.1205 version is the most recent with the fix.

    Added October 17, 2013

8.1 Windows upgrade, Mail App will support invalid server certificates (not match error with CN, untrusted root and expiry of the certificate). This means that the user can temporarily reject the certificate error when connecting to the IMAP/EAS server using the SSL connection. The setting is available jet account-> Settings.

  • Gmail account, email twice to Windows 8 Mail app

I have 3 accounts set up on my Windows 8 Mail application, a Hotmail, a Gmail and a Google Apps account for Business. The first two are fine, but the third party sends a message twice when sent from the Mail application. And it is actually sending two letters (timestamps are different, too), not only save outgoing mails twice - I checked it myself, too. It becomes embarrassing as this is the account of my work, and I can't use the Mail app to send official letters more.

Does anyone know how to stop the Mail application to send emails twice?

    Hi valerie, Patricia

I ask you to try the following steps and check whether the problem is resolved:

Delete the Google Apps account and check if the problem occurs with the two other accounts.

  • Change the mailto: link Outlook Desktop for Windows 8 Mail app

After you have installed Office 365 in Windows 8, the desktop version of Outlook took the "mailto:" links from other applications and Web sites. I want to continue to use the Windows 8 Mail application. Is it possible to change this setting?

    1. move your pointer to the bottom left of the screen, right-click and then select Control Panel then select default programs.

    2. Select set your default program settings.

    3. Select the mail on the left.

    4. Select set this program as default.

    5. click on OK.

For the Mail app this only associates the mailto: Protocol. It does not send an email page/link for the e-mail application.

  • Windows 8 MAIL APP doesn't send emails

Title: Windows 8 original MAIL APP?

Geeeshhhh... OK, so Windows 8 mail application is extremely upsetting. I'm NOT a tech geek, but I usually tell me things. (1) I want to know where the e-mail settings. (2) I have two messages my Outbox that have sent (and sent and sent and sent...), but they are caught in the trap in my Outbox and can't get out! I can't delete them at all... Please do not throw port numbers to me because I don't know where to look! Should I remove this app and open a gmail account? very frusterating!
    Help!

Those are the only two emails I sent. and no, I made no changes to the system. I just got the machine yesterday.
What I ended up doing (I took the machine to my computer guy) was delete the mail app and Live Mail installation, which works well. 8 app was too much and was not very friendly at all!
    Thank you, though.

  • Windows 8 Mail app missing emails (Gmail acct)

Using the application Mail in Windows 8 with my main Gmail account and I have found that it is not shoot in each email. Specifically, it seems the emails I have automatically transfer from another Gmail account to my main Gmail account. It's funny because the mail app on my Windows Phone 8 is not the same problem. Someone has an idea?

I don't have the steps you suggested for the synchronization application permissions.  However, I made a change to my Gmail account, which seems to him have fixed issues. I had my main account set in place with the "filters" that apply labels (Gmail thing) to the emails in my other Gmail accounts. I removed these filters so that the tags would not apply to e-mail sent from my other account to my main account. Once I did the emails appeared in the Mail application that pulls in my main Gmail account. It seems that my problem has been resolved by this action.

I used to be able to change the hover on my emails in Windows Live mail and cannot do that, how do I get it back?

And WLMail 2010 must be held available for XP users who are no longer supported by the new version.

ITYM WLMail 2009. The 2010 version was a short-lived beta never lost on the general public. The last and the last WLMail for XP users is v. 2009 build 14.0.8117.0416, which will also be broadcast on Vista and W7 and that supports natively stationery.

  • Windows 8 Mail App does not synchronize

One of the main features I liked about Windows 8 no longer works, the Mail app. November 9, all my accounts package stopped sync: Yahoo, Gmail and AOL. On 16 November, Hotmail finally leaves. I researched and tried to restart the computer, remove the accounts (from all the PC option), add accounts, reset the Windows Firewall, execution of the app repair tool and uninstall and reinstalling Mail/calendar/people, all to nothing does not. After the reinstallation of the application, it recover my Hotmail, but other accounts show upward, but said that they could not synchronize. I removed the once again, and now they will not return. Each immediately say "unable to connect. Make sure that the information you entered is correct. "Which, believe me, I have. When I try to add them as one 'other' account with "Show more details", enter all the info, I get "we still can't find the settings for.

. Providing this additional info may help. If you don't know this information, search online or check with your provider."

I have figured out the problem myself. It was Avast! AntiVirus' Mail Shield that was keeping the app from connecting. Even adding the SSL exclusions to the list didn't work - I had to disable the Mail Shield entirely.

  • Windows 8 Mail App does not connect to the Outlook account

Recently downloaded and installed Win8, no obvious problems so far.

I want to set up my "Mail" app to get the mail on my outlook.com account. However, every time I get back the address email + password who logs me in me oriented web Outlook.com account, he said 'we could not find settings, please provide more information' and asks the domain names and the server.
I don't know where to go from here, I have to provide some servers to connect to my outlook.com account or is there something else, I'm missing?
My outlook.com account is configured to receive emails from other pop account. He receives these fines in the Inbox, no apparent problems.

I discovered the root of the problem and fixed it (I suspect it's what Mark Bu said, but in a different way!)

My outlook.com account is an account that is only associated with my windows user account, based on my own e-mail account as a connection made by myself in order to use integrated Ms. There is no outlook or hotmail related account. Despite this, I use outlook.com to receive e-mail from my other Inbox via pop and "receive mail from other accounts".
Trying to connect to outlook.com fine online works, try with mail app fails with this, even if it's a known workaround solution to get pop mail on the win8 Mailer application.
My solution was to simply go to 'rename the account' to outlook.com and create an e-mail address for microsoft based 'real' (@outlook.com) and migrate my windows account for this. Post instantly connected without problem, and my redirect pop still works.
Pity that couldn't stop time on the chat line for microsoft technology, it just kept saying 'call your provider of domain for more details'. It could have been resolved in 30 seconds he said "you need a real Microsoft based outlook.com e-mail use it»
  • Windows 8 Mail App - for Gmail accounts, how to remove archive button?

I have some Gmail accounts, I'm trying to make it work in the application Mail in Windows 8.  The problem is that if I press the button Delete in the top right of the app, it sends my e-mail message to the trash in Gmail, where he get permanently deleted after 30 days.  I want to remove the button to simply remove the element from its current location and "archive" instead (not go in the trash).  I need this so that I can keep the search of old messages history.

I checked in my Gmail settings (on their site) and on the tab "transfer and POP/IMAP", I already have ' auto clear on ' and 'Archive' message when a message is marked as deleted.

Plus, I saw that other support posts here who say the default by pressing the button Delete for them is the exact opposite of what I see (they say archives instead of cops).  I am completely confused about it since that's what I want, but don't see anything else to try to get it.

Can someone please give some insight on how to get this working?  I have my iPad Mail app works very well in this regard.  But this question, it is difficult to make the switch from my Surface Pro.

    I found a solution!

    It's pretty simple.

    1. go in Gmail settings - labels

On the right side of the screen, you can select records show in imap.

    2. remove the ckeckmark then in bin/basket

Now, the trash will not be displayed in imap (as the Win 8 messaging application) e-mail applications.

    3. now, go to the windows mail application 8. If you still see a Bin or Trash, folder synchronization (right-click - option to the left)

    4. open the charms bar (drag in from the right side of the screen or move your mouse cursor to the top right of the screen and then down). Go to settings - accounts - choose your gmail account. Scroll to the bottom of the settings panel

You will now see an option of folder in which you want to use as trash! See attached picture

    5. choose [Gmail] \All Mail as the basket

Fact! Now when you delete an email it will be archived.

Impossible to believe there is even a solution, I couldn't find one on the web, he found by chance. Hope this will help a lot of people. Now if only Microsoft and Google that would place in their official faq...
