I used to have a gadget calendar/weather on my desktop, but recently it ceased to appear at the beginning.
I can not open any window of Google desktop gadgets, whether through click with the right button on the desktop or through the control panel.
I try to click on something to do with the desktop gadgets and nothing comes, it seems right that it is impossible to open it.
If anyone can help me solve this problem, I will be really grateful.

I need to change a system setting of the control panel to the Desktop Gadgets.
I want to put a clock on my desk. But when I try to open the setting, a window pops up: "The Desktop Gadgets are managed by your system administrator." I read the explanation provided by MS (group policy features, etc.), but my pc does not part of a network & it is not in a domain, so somehow that changing this setting for "Desktop Gadgets" sometimes there are. In any case, I wish I had a procedure step by step on how to disable the system of administration. function, even if I need to go into the registry. I don't have this problem with other parameters in my control panel. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I don't know, I never disabled Gadgets myself as I like the gadget to use CPU/RAM. But Microsoft recommended disabling some time ago. Maybe, if they are disabled is the effect it gives?
In any case, there are these two articles, which can be interesting to read if you did not already:
https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2719662
and
https://TechNet.Microsoft.com/library/security/2719662
If you have seen these or they do not help, then (sorry) I hope someone else soon.
PS - as one involves at least registry changes, your backup system in the first place, or at least backup/export your registry database and back up important data (documents, pictures, music, etc.) first.

You can consult the following thread link and check.
PING: transmit failed, error code 5.
Important: The above link contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, follow the steps from the link below:

Show hidden/missing of the desktop icons
original title: hide the desktop icons
Hide the icons on desktop on Windows 7 seems a fairly common theme in these forums, but I still have to find a solution that works. The standard response is to right click on the desktop, click view, and then remove the checkmark "show desktop icons". To do this I have to go through the process, not once but twice. After signing and signature later back on I have to repeat this procedure. Tutorial Windows gives the impression that removing the "Show desktop icons" check will keep these icons are displayed until you handed the check mark. This isn't the case for me. Miss me how crucial link in this puzzle?
Thank you very much.
No matter how many new accounts are created, one of them must be considered with the administrator account and corruption is obviously attached to her.
Incorrect answer. You can have hundreds + administrator accounts. There are still only * one * original built-in Administrator account. If every account you create ends with this issue, then something is corrupt overall. If the problem is only for a user account once you make them an administrator - I'd guess malware infestation can only be solved in the long term by a format and a new installation of the system and all of the affected software.
When you create a new account - copy less. Ignore the suggestion to Microsoft article.
What you want to copy is: Desktop, Favorites and Documents on the Start Menu. Leave everything else at the moment.
Let me be as accurate as possible...
If your old account user was named "GoodbyeDolly" and your new account is "HelloDolly", you will copy the following (after creating and logging into the new "HelloDolly" administrator-level account).
Copy everything under:
C:\Users\GoodbyeDolly\Favorites
TO
C:\Users\HelloDolly\FavoritesCopy everything under:
C:\Users\GoodbyeDolly\Desktop
TO
C:\Users\HelloDolly\DesktopCopy everything under:
C:\Users\GoodbyeDolly\Documents
TO
C:\Users\HelloDolly\DocumentsCopy everything under:
C:\Users\GoodbyeDolly\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
TO
C:\Users\HelloDolly\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start MenuNothing else at this time. NOTHING. Not a single file. Not a single setting. Do nothing else for the new account in terms of trying to get stuff from the old account.
You * will * need to configure your homepage (s) Internet. You should know where your previously saved word, excel, and other office documents. You must assign the account 'HelloDolly' his own password. There may be dozens of other customizations that can be (will be) different for each user of a computer that you * will * have to do. Wallpaper, computer sounds when you do certain things, the disposal of the office icons themselves, the order of the start menu, which is visible on the taskbar and how and when, etc.
If your question is not more with this method - come back and let us know.

Lack of the "Change desktop icons" option in my control panel
Im trying to restore the icons of 'Trash' and 'My computer' original on my desk.
Ive played a lot with these before settings on other computers, all of which is running Windows XP or earlier. I can't find the appropriate options in the Control Panel on my vista computer. Many forums indicate the "Change desktop icons" option should be "Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization", but the link does not exist in my control panel.
Is there a way I can make this option appear?
Hello
In the control/customization panel (or right-click on the desktop and choosing Properties), the ability to change the desktop icons under tasks in the left column, will not be like a link in the Center. You declare that this line does not exist? Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

the desktop gadgets only sometimes appear when booting.
For these past few weeks Google desktop gadgets clock has not sometimes appear at boot. Now all the gadgets of the Office refuses to even appear when I click the icon in the control panel. What has gone wrong?
If they disappear again, try to uncheck this option and then repeat for re-check it.
Not sure why it's just for you, mine did sometimes not appear from time to time in the past, but very well worked for many months now.
If they fail again, you can try a restore point dates back to a time where they worked very well. That is, if they don't have say 2 weeks ago and then restore to 3 weeks if you can. Not sure, but it can help.

Windows 7 Desktop Gadget calendar works not properly.
Nice day
Recently, my calendar from Win7 Gadget started acting strange.
Normally so I it is the small size and showing the month calendar.
Now what he does is to come with the display of the start date or after exiting the screen saver mode.
I have to manually click it to return to month mode. It sticks only in this mode until the screen saver is used, then return to date.
Is there maybe a registry setting or setting hidden control panel of the Windows Calendar gadget?
Thoughts?
Thanks for your time.
