Change router password

I have a HP Laserjet Pro 100 M175nw. I want to change the password for my router. If I do, I won't have my printer connected to my network. After the call to HP, they told me that I have to go through the entire installation again for example connect USB, launch the installation etc... I use my printer with Mac and PC. When I bought it I set up the PC with a USB port and the driver already installed on the printer itself. For MAC I had to download a driver and use a USB key as well. Y at - it an easier as way crosses already installed software or the firmware of the printer and simply change the password?

Hello

You can follow these steps to nake a such easier without involving any reinstallation of software:

1. print a network configuration report and locate the IP address of the printer.

2. Locate the IP address of the printer on the printerd sheet, go to this address from the web browser on your computer to access the EWS page.

3. from the built-in Web Server page, click Networking > Wireless Configuration and change the password in this page for the new password.

4 confirm the changes. Note that wireless light should Flash at the moment as a bad password is configured for the printer, and then you should put off the printer.

5. change the password of your router settings as required.

6. Once you are done, turn on the printer, it needs to connect to your network by using the new password, and the wireless light should always lit blue solid.

Please let me know of any questions,

Shlomi

Thanks :)  WeigeSS

Go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and copy your IP address. Then open a webbrowser and paste the IP copied into the address bar. You must now enter your username and password (most often, it is not a WiFi password, but that this service provider you have given - it could be written on the contract or manual). Now, everything depends on what type of router you have. Usually, there is a security link or password somewhere on the screen. Click on it and then you can change the password.

  • I want to change the password to my wireless network.

original title: CAN someone please HELP!

    Hello

Hello, im having a problem going on with my wireless network and really need help. I have a pummel wireless "netgear" and I changed the administrative name and added own mt personal password or paraphrase 6 months ago when I 1st put in place... 2 months ago my son of 12 years told our nieghbors the password to our secure wifi network and now I need to change the password. We never had any connection problems or have been started our network then put on a random {no} unill 2 weeks after this password was compermized. ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THE SSID ROUTER PASSWORD? YOUR HELP WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED!

Open your browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. The default username is admin and the default password is the password if you have not changed it. On the router configuration page, select 'Wireless Settings' in the left column. You can set up a new SSID, security type, and password here. If you have changed the default user name and the password to the router configuration page, use the reset button on the back of the router to reset to the factory settings and proceed as above.

  • where can I change the password for free wifi on Acer 10th switch

I use a public wifi who changes his password every month. I connected it with my Acer Switch 10 E for the first time last month (a week ago) and I was asked for the password. Now, it's a new month and I am not prompted for the password and I can't find a place to change the stored password. I can still access my own wifi and wifi to work who have correct stored passwords.

I tried to select options wifi and it allows not sharing and sharing. When I'm in the range of wifi and run diagnostics it either tells me that the computer cannot detect the network hardware - that can't be true because I can connect at home - or the wifi connection is set to manual, which is not the issue because if it is set to manual or automatic He asks me the password.

If I select the show the network connections and the State in the internetb Control Panel, I see the wifi connection but it doesn't have a name, when I right click on the wifi connection, it does not give me a Connections tab where I could change the password. If I select Change card options it is the same story. Other people around me are connected so I know that's not the router. If I try to add a new connection it tells me it cannot detect network hardware.

I should be able to make the details screen connection display and change the password, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the suggestion, but again, this access to the security for any unconnected network tab is precisely what I was not able to do. The problem is: when not connected, no wifi connection appear in the list of wifi-State; only an icon for the device software. If I right click on that window opebned upward has shown me the properties of the driver etc., not on the network. He had no security, and no properties 'Wireless' don't link.  10 Windows, you need to get separately to the networks are not connected. Now, I found the item "manage known networks." It was much further down the page than I expected from images that I had seen, that showed above the element change adapter settings. Then I was able to forget the network and he asked me for a password. Just deselect "automatically connect" does not ask me the password. Connect automatically seems to be defined as a sort of default.

    Thanks anyway.

  • EA6500 router password stop working when on the Internet

My question is quite simple but really difficult to understand on a logical point of view.

I have a new EA6500 (v1), I hung on the network and set it up using the router password by default is 'admin '. I have configured the PPPOE connection to my internet and then, as soon as it is connected to the internet, I am not able to connect to 192.168.1.1 more because it says that my router password is not valid. If I just disconnect the WAN cable and refresh it, the router password works now.

I tried to change it and it continues to operate only if the router is not connected to the internet. When it is connected to the internet, I click on the "local access" mode, but get the same error "router invalid password." If I log in using my account Smart Wi - Fi, I get the error "error_gets_network" which disappears after about 1 sec and then it is up to the login page, or sometimes, it will simply ask the router password which will not work in any case.

I have the latest firmware, but I reinstalled it always manually without success. I tried a few resets hard too but the problem is still there and it's really annoying because I can't go to the router configuration without cable router WAN. And I can't link my smart Wifi account since obviously the router password is not recognized and more if I'm on the internet.

    Any ideas?

I tried with the latest version of Google Chrome (cleared cache and everything, and since it does not work when the router is not connected to the internet, I don't think it's a browser problem). Interface does not work with the latest version of IE (even in compatibility mode, maintaining the interface tells me to download the latest version of Internet Explorer, it's really ironic).

Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, test value and mode of compatibility again.
Disable any security browser addons such as No Script and Ad-Block or set them to allow all Pages when it is connected to the router.
    Clear all caches browser.
Don't forget to log on to the Admin account on the router.
Try disabling these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, few bars options > settings > settings (left) > see the advanced settings.
    Uncheck the box for these:
Use a web service to help solve the navigational errors
Use a service forecast for complete searches and URLS typed in the address bar
Predict the actions of the network to improve the performance of page loading
Activate the protection from phishing and malware

All I get is this error in the browser "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)"

I did a search here and on google and tried the following things on a computer connected to the router.

    1. Discount to zero fast.
    2. Power cable disconnect for 60 s.
    3. Factory reset followed to a reset of the router for 60 s.
    4. Delete my cookies of browsers and internet temporary files.

Things I've changed is the basic configuration to connect to my ISP and the wireless settings.

This is because it is sometimes cached in your browser or Cookies and how your Internet connection is trying to load the Page, it is simply a Bug in the browser Google Chrome and probably will be fixed on a new version of the browser.

Fix this bug in browser, it's easy because it's because of 3 different things.

    * The first thing to try is go into Options and clicking Reset to default values and refresh the Page or F5 shortcut key to refresh the page you are on Google Chrome.

    * The second error 324 is to simply just restart your Chrome browser.

    * Sometimes, it can be your Internet connection, the cause of error when browsing websites in chrome so just restart your Internet connection.

I hope this helps you solve this problem.

  • Change default password

Windows 7, router WRT54G2.  How can I change the default Linksys password "admin" to anything of my choice?  I seem to not have the installation CD.  Router works well, but it still has the original password.

    Thank you

    Frank

Just follow the steps on the jlbjlb link provided: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=3976. It contains all the steps that will guide you on how to change the password to something else. After changing the password and that you save the settings, it will ask you to re-login to the page. Just type the new password and you should be able to re-acess the router page.

Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds and release it to set to factory specifications. Then connect to 192.168.1.1 with empty user name and admin password and reconfigure the router. The CD is for noobs. Good luck.

  • Set up the router password

The tec of cable company told me that I needed a password on my router (WRT54GSv2) I read some comments on that, but it makes no sense me.

Where to find the settings of the router : the router password is usually on one of the pages 'Administration '. The other settings are in the section 'Wireless' pages of configuration of the router , located at 192.168.1.1

Might as well be written in Russian, makes no sense for me, where can I find the pages of 'the Administration '?

Where can I find "wireless" section of my routers setup pages?

My router has been implemented for some time and now I want to set up a password, in simple terms how to do that and where should I go to? I see nothing in my computer that says Linksys?

Unplug the router everything. Turn on the router. Press reset for 30 seconds (check all lights in the weighing, if they do not change all by pressing the button, it's probably broken).

After reset, wire a single computer to the router. Now try to open http://192.168.1.1/

  • How can I change my password for wireless?

    Change of password

I'll put up my wireless after two years, and I don't remember the password for the other members of my family to use the wireless.

Anyone know how to change, or the contact person to change?

Where, exactly, is this required password?  Whether to connect to a wireless router, see the manual of the router (or manufacturer) for access and the router password reset procedures.  If nothing else works, every router I've seen has a reset switch that can be used to restore the router to the factory settings by default, where you can reconfigure and set new passwords.

How can you access the area to change the password for a group of net work at home? I'm unable to find had worked well but formatted Vista computer to make it faster. Now unable to find the box to change the password. Another computer on a network running 7.

    Hello

    What password are you talking?

If it's regarding network sharing again the sharing.

    Maybe this can help.

To get best results connect to each computer system screen and set all the computers to be on a bearing the same name of Working Group , while each computer has its own unique name.

Make sure that the software firewall, AV, or other security components allow free local traffic on all network computers. If you use the 3rd group of security, firewall native Vista/XP must be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please Note that some 3rd party software firewall/AV/security costumes continue to block aspects of the Local traffic even it they are off (off).
If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic.

If you end up with the 3rd party software uninstalled or disabled, make sure that Windows native firewall is active .

Network Win 7 with another version of Windows as a work network (works very well if all computers are Win 7 also).

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

When you have finished the configuration of the system, it is recommended to restart everything the router and all computers involved.

    -------------

If you have permission and security issues with Vista/Win7, check the following settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

** Note . All the users who are allowed to share need to have an account onall computers that they are allowed to connect to.

Everyone is an account, that means a group of all users who already have an account now as users. It is available to avoid the need to configure permission for each on its own, it does not mean all those who feel that they would like to connect.

  • ENVY 5540 All - In - One Printer: how to change the password want TO 5540 WIFI Direct from HP default to a different password?

I try the functions on my new 5540 ENVY. Everything is set up and working correctly so far. I just printed a document from my iPad using the WIFI Direct function on the printer successfully. However, the default password on the printer for the WIFI Direct is simply "12345678". Surely, it should be replaced by a more secure password. My friend something printed its iPad - so obviously, this password is not exclusive to me, anyone can print stuff on my printer just for fun and I have a lot of students around me, the problem could become expensive for me and very boring. WIFI Direct signal covers a distance. I contacted HP telephone support, but the process is time consuming and I had to hang up because I had to work. Maybe someone here could give me instructions, and I can change the password when I have free time. I use wifi for internet (cable ethernet only) and the printer connected via USB to the computer. Also, when I turn on my computer (BUT NOT THE ROUTER) on the wireless function, the printer is and what I need to do is enter "12345678" and start printing. There is no guarantee either. Can someone tell me how to change the password for WIFI Direct 5540 envy? Thank you.

I'm sure that you can change the EWS web page for your printer.
