EA4500: Change the password of the router

My router password is '55xxxxx '.

But when I want to change the router password in CCC, it tells me that 'the current password is not match'

Someone knows why?

I don't know why, but it's ok now.

    Hi @c13pan,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to get your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4645 e-all-in-one printer connected to the new router. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand that this can be frustrating, we should be able to get this to work for you. Looks like the printer must hang on the old settings or trying to connect to the wrong network.

To correct this problem, try the following steps:

Restore the default settings network settings.

    1. press on the wireless button to access the menu of the status of wireless.

    2. press the button next to settings to access the settings menu wireless.

    3. select restore default settings.

4 confirm the selection to restore the default values.

    • Before you reconfigure the wireless, make sure that the SSID is not hidden.
    • If you have a dual band router, rename the network 5.0 GHz and the name of the network is unique.
    • Make sure your computer is on the 2.4 GHz network when you try to reconfigure the wireless.

To confirm you are on the same network and the password is correct, please use the printing and scanning doctor.

HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan doctor to diagnose and troubleshoot printing and scanning. Download and run printing HP and doctor Scan quickly and automatically multitask resolution of known issues for this problem. • change the router WEP to wpa

How can I change my wep to a wpa key

type 192.168.0.1 in the URL bar of your browser (if it does not, type 192.168.1.1) and click on enter. Your router wireless page will appear. Connect to your router using your user name and password that you set them when configuring the router (user name is admin, unless you changed it). The settings you change will be in the settings or wireless settings menus, but it's different for several routers, so you will need to explore the menus. teengeek.freehostingcloud.com Microsoft community contributor

  • WRT54GS - problem with changing the router IP

Here's my problem: I want to change the IP Address of the router (and subnet) to 192.168.1.1 to (for example) 192.168.28.1 (long story).  I can do it on the base of the router configuration page.

I have a desktop with a fixed address configuration: 192.168.28.90, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, default gateway and preferred DNS server: 192.168.28.1.  Three laptops get dhcp addresses.

Access to Internet is fine, but local communications on the local network no longer work: shared folders are not accessible, and I can not ping to one local PC to another. (But I can ping anything on the web)

When I'm back at 192.168.1.1 all is well again.

Someone at - it includes what is the problem?

    Thank you.

It is most likely a problem of computer software firewall.

To resolve the issue, reset the router to 192.168.28.1, then power cycle your network, verify that your Internet connection works on all computers.  Then go into the computer on each computer software firewall and set it to "trust", other computers on your network.

    Hello

Can you please make sure you have a value of bandwidth on ALL your BGP peering physical interfaces? And you can also include the running-config 'router bgp XXXX' out of R1 as you have not understood what we (others are). Just to make sure that you have "bgp dmzlink-bw' configured on all peerings and overall in the process - it will still show in the output of the same community if it does not work on it.

  • EA4500 smartwifi: the router's external ip address

Hi I have an EA4500 with interface smart wi - fi.

I need the ip address provided to my router by my internet provider so I can remote desktop into my home computer using port forwarding.

I could not find the IP address of my router.

Under connectivity, the internal ip address is listed, but not the external ip address.

Can someone point me in the direction of the rite.

    Thank you

    Vik

@vikramjit.gill Hi! Instead of going to the connectivity, select troubleshooting, and then click Diagnostics. You will see your Internet IP address on this page. This is the IP address of your ISP. I hope this will help you!

  • Need to change the wireless password as soon as possible.

    Hello

I was recently sharing my WiFi with a close friend nearby but unfortunately he, or his children, were downloading music illegally therfore making me get in touch with the Charter, blah blah blah... I tried to change my password for wireless, but for some reason, I can't understand it. I would really appreciate some advice if possible. I thank you all for time and hope to hear from you soon.

    Hello

The access password is in the router to verify with the support of the manufacturer of the router. Most are online
help for this, even though setting up as new. Change the router password, even to change the SSID
(name) and then only you should be able to open a session.

    I hope this helps.

  • RE1000 cannot find the router

    Hello

I bought a couple of RD1000s at the flea market. I have a "deadspot" or two in my apartment and I was hoping to alleviate this problem.

    Updated the Firmware v1.0.02.

Adjusted the default namespace and admin passwords.

Configuration manual connection using WPA2/WPA mixed with band select Auto.

They seem to be in perfect condition except neither of the RE1000s can see my wireless router!

My router is a Netgear CG3700EMR provided by my ISP.

I can see both of the RE1000s of my Mac and my PC, as well as signals of 2.4 and 5 Ghz Wi - Fi my router.

When I get a list of Wi - Fi networks available on the RE1000 page, I get a list of the variable content of betweenn 6 and 11 networks available, of which none are mine. The content of the list seems to change after each update as some of the more remote routers disappear and are replaced by other distant routers. My router does not appear.

The RE1000s can not see my router at all ranges from 2 meters to 30 meters - I checked from many different sources of energy.

I'm a bit puzzled, so all the intelligent comments are welcome.

    Philippe

Problem solved by trial and error.

The router is configured as an iPhone, iPad, Android device, a Mac and a PC Win7 (Linksys WMP600N) and a Blackberry can see it. For reasons of space, I'm at Channel 13.

However, it seems that the channel must be set to 1 initially for the RE1000 find the router.

After setting the router to channel 1, I was able to connect the devices. Later, I changed the router to channel 8 (the current less crowded) and everything went on very well.

  • How to change the security settings on a wireless network

I would change the existing network security settings to WPA2, AES, or at least from TKIP AES.

I am familiar with access via browser to the router and how to change the settings of the router.

My question is how to make this as painless as possible for the network.  Step by step would be great

First of all, I guess I have to change the settings of the router using the computer running Easy Link Advisor?

Do I then have to disconnect/reconnect this computer?

Do I have to unplug all the other computers and then sign in again with the update settings?

The change of security settings affect my print server?  If so, I put up from scratch in ELA?

For the record, I have a WRT 300N and the print server is a 54g.

Anyone who reads this can also focus on recent news.  Maybe not a big deal, but a WPA/TKIP vulnerabilities has been identified.

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

If you change the router's wireless security settings, it will affect all devices that connect wireless to the router. To change the settings, simply set until you want on the web interface of the router. Save the settings. You need not link to that Advisor. Direct access to the web interface of the router is sufficient and preferable.

All devices configured to connect to this network should ask if they connect more. It depends on type of what you had before. If you have not used WPA2 or WPA before having to ask for the password. If you used the WPA or WPA2 with the same password that they cannot even ask the password. How it works in detail with a specific wireless device depends on the device and the software you use. Some devices may require you to first remove the network wireless in the list of "preferred networks" and then reconnect.

Check the manual of the print server how to configure for the new security settings. You should be able to reconfigure the print server through a web interface. First, it is probably best to change the settings on the print server and then make the change on the router. Otherwise, you may have a hard time, connection to the print server to make the change. In addition, depending on how old the print server is that it cannot even support WPA2 and AES.

  • WRT110 - How to change the MTU setting?

I have trouble finding a way to change the router's MTU setting. I got a new modem (former fizzled), and now my internet works fine. However, when I connect my Xbox 360 to the internet, it indicates that the MTU setting is incorrect and to go to the router setup Web page to change it.

Anyone know how to find this page?

So far all I've found is this site that gives a link to the linksys router, but the link takes me someplace completely different.

Understand the part. Now it asks me for a user name and password to view the site.

    Help?

Call the technical support; problem solved!

It turns out that my specific router is outdated, so I can't access the MTU settings.

  • Printer Hp6700: unable to connect to the router wireless D - Link DI-514 when SSID Broadcast is set to no.

HP6700 printer: unable to connect to the router wireless D - Link DI-514 when the router Broadcast SSID is set to no. My MAC laptop and HP laptop both work with the set SSID on no. If I change the router Wireless SSID Broadcast is YES, then the printer HP6700 can connect to the wireless router. I set up the printer it saying that the SSID and password have been, the same as both of my laptops, but it connects ever, unless I have change the router to broadcast the SSID. Help!

Have you tried to update the firmware on the DI-514?

You can also try to set a static IP address on the printer, and then assign the printer to the list of DHCP static in the interface of the router.
To give a static IP address to your printer:
-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.
Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that you remove and re - add the printer to your Mac.

  • Reconnect the printer to the router

I have a Photosmart C4385 and recently had to reset my Linksys router with a new password.  Since I did it, my printer stopped working because of the new security settings.  How it is possible to reconnect my printer?

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you have changed the router security key, you must also enter this new key in the printer so that it can connect to your wireless network without as before.  If you are having problems the link below will help you.
