Change the network connection speed and reliability of the emulator
Hello
I want to test my application in the State of the slow and unreliable network.
I wonder if we can change the speed of the emulator network connection? Or y at - it a tool that can help us to do this?
I'm also thinking about a simple proxy server which can regulate the speed of connection. And then my application connects to this server to test. This type of proxy server software exist?
Thanks in advance

I think that the best you can do is play with simulation--> network coverage options - see the simulation on the Simulator menu.

Network connection - open and does NOT
Please help on this
I have set up a virtual machine
Host system: windows 7
Comments system: fedora 16
I want to use the Bridge mode for the configuration of the network connection.
So I choice within the parameters of the virtual machine-> hardware-> network-> network-> bridged connection
Here is the configuration of IP address
host system
IP address: 10.0.1.100
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.0.1.1
Guest system
IP address: 10.0.1.101
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.0.1.1
The result is the guest system cannot access the Internet
Comments can ping itself (10.0.1.101) and host (10.0.1.100)
However, he cannot ping the gateway
Host system is normal
He cannot ping itself (10.0.1.100) and comments 10.0.1.101 and entry door.
It can also access the Internet.
Can anyone help on this?
Is that what I miss the configuration?
Thank you.
Welcome to the community,
There could be several reasons for this.
- How many cards of network interface (wired / wireless) do you have in your system? If you have more than one, make sure that you configure the network bridged in the 'virtual network' Editor to use an appraiser NIC dedicated to 'automatic '.
- You use a managed physical switch? Some switches have port security enabled by default, which limits the number of MAC addresses on a single switch port.
- Do you have firewall or Endpoint Protection SW installed on the system? Make sure that the traffic is not blocked by any of these applications.

I have 3 desktop PCs. Machine A is Win 7, the B machine is XP, the C machine is XP.
Machine A is connected to the router via cable and internet connection works. Machine B is wireless (the same router as a machine) and the internet connection works when I used that machine has b. Now I plugged in the machine C B machine with a crossover cable and wireless internet machine B does not work.
I tried the IP and gateway addresses manually (since deleted). If I ping the computer A to B I get the answer to time to stop and even if I ping the B to A computer. However ping computer B to C and C to B work.
I hope that I have omitted some important parameter, if anyone can point me in the right direction
Hello
If the bridge, the connection between C and B is the first to be configured with a static IP address that is on a different subnet * and then fill.
Alternatively, you can use ICS, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126/en-us
* On the subnet
Classical IP looks like this (example), 192.168. 1 .x the first three groups are also called subnet, they identify specific network, x can be a number between 0 and 255 and it identifies each unique device on the network.
An IP address of 192.168. 2 .x would be a subnet to another network.
To assign a static IP address, see http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/

Windows 8 drops network connection sharing and cannot re-establish the connection
First of all, let me say that this is the same exact symptoms I had with Server 2008 and network shares. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2194664
Now on my current problem:
I have a windows 8 pro with a SAS/SATA connected 3.5 to raid 5. I'll call this PC1
I have a windows 8 pro running on Hyper-V hosted by PC1 VM. I'll call this VM1
PC1 is hosting the share PrimaryData F:\
PC1 is hosting the share SecondaryData P:\
The VHD VM and actions are all on the PC1 SAS/SATA Raid5
I have a custom power script that I ran at a time to avoid any form of sleep on all of the machines I use.
I use PPM to the PC1 on VM1 drive mappings
Then, I run a program on VM1 which converts the F:\ share data and once converted it moves other than P:\
This program runs until the data are all converts who should then take days, but he cannot because only a few hourly VM1 displays a red X on the actions of PC1.
When I try to reconnect the actions, they are not reconnected. I ping from PC1 VM1 but I can't connect with a command Net use. Once I got it to reconnect by running a "net use \\PC1\Datapath\PrimaryData" and accidentally forgot to add the mapped drive letter, but strangely it restored all my mapped drives disconnected. I was never able to reproduce even once. Normally, once Im locked, reset is the only answer.
I noticed this is a common problem with users of Windows 8, but his treatises as if it were the first time someone saw that and I saw all my sites of clients where I support Server2008 and spent many months, beating my head, try to understand this.
Please let know us which tests you want to run me and I'll do it and re post. I can duplicate the question at least once a day.
It is possible that I have solved my problem.
Well I don't know if this will work for other users as Im running Virtual Machines, but I edited my power settings for the hard drive itself and it goes 20 m forever if the hard drives never cease to go and so far, I don't lose connection again. If I stay connected throughout, today I'm going to transfer and this can be closed. -

Empty Connections window network and could not start the network connections service
Problems with Verizon router and during diagnosis discovered that the network connections window is empty (found by clicking on change settings for the network and sharing Center map). We are currently connected to the Internet with the new router and Ethernet cable, but the cannot connect wireless (what we could do before) - apparently not to display icons in N.C. window is not necessary to have connections. Found a reference to the network connections service and check it is running as a solution to the window being blank. The service is not running, and when I try to launch it I get "Error 1083: the executable program that this service is configured to run in does not implement this service."
I've seen a lot of suggestions on fixes for the problem of the empty window. I did the sfc /scannnow and found no problem. I tried to update the network adapter driver, but it was very good. None of the solutions seemed appropriate perfectly adapted to this situation. Is this really a problem? Any suggestions on what to do about it? We are about to use an USB adapter until our connection speed and I want to make sure that everything works first. Thanks for any help.
Hi EWright1, we will check the settings of the service.Click Start, type CMD. EXE and press {ENTER}

I have a desktop running Windows Vista Home basic and I can't connect to the internet through a local network, which is connected through a router (Belkin). Adapter type is Internet: Intel 825562V-210/100
After consultations with the support of technichal society of router and my PC vendor, it seems that there is aproblem with negotiating the link speed. Here are some symptoms:
I can access the internet if I connect the cable directly to the modem;
Connected through the router, I can sometimes connecting to the internet if Imaually change settings of connection speed (10 / 100 Mbps, half/full duplex)
All other PC connected to the network, using Win Vista and throuhg connected to the same router, have access to the network;
If I connect my network cable to another PC, it will have access to the internet;
The status of my PC seems to be 'connected' on the site of implementation of routers. The State of my connection is sometimes "Local only" sometimes "Local and Internet", but in fat, there is no internet access.
I tried the following:
Trouobleshooting under the direction of the technical support of the router and PC vendor.
Update the operating system to restore to an earlier date, to restore to the factory settings; Reformatting my PC 2 times, (first internet worked for a few hours only); update the OS (by connecting directly to the modem); Turning off Win Defender, removing software antivirus. Reset LAN connection...
Any suggestion please?
New router solved the problem.
Thanks a lot, especially Jack :-).

I still need help: 11-24-10' uncorrected problem after all
I have a laptop of refurbished HP older Pavilion ze5385US who has recently lost the wireless connection. Now, I have to leave it plugged in to use, not practical at all. I did the right click on the icon to open the network connections, left clicked wireless network connections and then clicked "repair this connection. The uninstaslled of the computer, and then was not able to reinstall. When I checked D, it was empty. I thought it was where restoration stuff should have been. So I downloaded and reinstalled much Express IEEE 802.11 PCI card Lan, until I found the one that the computer would be except. Now, it appears in device very good Manager, but has theyellow cone with! on the icon in the status bar at the bottom. When I raised it lights, it is said: 13 of (ANY) wireless network connection, speed: 11.0 Mbps, Signal strength: Excellent, status: limited or no connectivity. When I choose "View available wireless networks", I get "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection. Under network without wire/support/details of connections, Iget physical address: 00-02-8A-92-BE-0C, IP address: 169.254.196.112 subnet mask: 255.255.0.0, then the default gateway, DNS server, WINS server & have not enumerated values. I'm afraid to hit the repair again, it could wipe out the only map I've found so far that is accepted by my computer. When I try to enter the knowledge base for WinXP, I get an error for this page, as well as several other help pages I tried the site of microsoft.com for help. When I used configurationtool thewireless zero in respect of services & restart earlier, I had a red X on my icon, so I guess I've lost my card after all. Can I disable this? The map always shows as OK in Device Manager. Any ideas anyone? I need help here please.
Hello
I thank you and wish you the same.
I see that your problem has been solved using the HP driver that you mentioned on Thursday, November 18 in your message and the Express.sys is a problem with Windows install.
I suggest to install the version of Windows install 4.5 on the system from the link below and then update the driver from the link that was attached to your question before and check.
Step 1:
Install windows install 4.5
Windows install 4.5 Redistributable
Step 2:
Update the driver from the link you mentioned in your previous post.
I suggest you to check with TP-link if this model is compatible with Windows XP or not.

Thanks and regards.

Network connections on the control panel
Running Windows 7. You want to change a network connection name. Help sought for "Rename network connection." A link "Click here to open network connections" appears. This link works and goes to everything in Control Panel > network connections. However, when I go directly to the Control Panel, there is no such item in the list, only the network and sharing Center, which does not have an obvious way to display all the available connections, only the one in use. Why is this and how do I solve this problem? Thank you!
If I understand what you're asking about, go to control panel, go to network and sharing Center and click on the link in the left pane to "change the map settings.
That ends at the same place (network control and Internet\Network connections) you get to by clicking on the link in the help file.
You can go directly to "Network connections" by typing "ncpa.cpl" (without the quotes) in the start menu > Search box and press enter

My wireless connection works perfectly well. I went to the HP website to download all the drivers and also visited if the Device Manager on my computer to make sure that all drivers are in place. Even with all the drivers, it still does not connect to the local network. Help, please!
