Recovery of Windows 8 media

I can't reboot my computer for some reason any and I do not have the disk recovery Windows 8 media? Is it possible to create the recovery disk since I already have the product key of Windows 8? Can I download a disk recovery online on a CD media using my product key for Win8?

Appreciate your quick response as this is urgent. Thank you.

Upgrade to Windows 8 with only a product key;

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only

Maybe this will help.

You can match the 32 bits or 64 on any other computer win8 to repair the disk.  Or use any corresponding bit Windows 8 installation DVD that has a link in the section repair constructed on it also.   Borrow from a computer of friends or local store of the friendly taking only a few minutes of time on their computer?

Not really any kind of recovery... media media of its repair.   Unless you make an image of your computer system.

    Mr President.

I had my HP laptop pavilion in November 2013. It came with 8 pre-installed windows. I upgraded Windows 8.1 by March, 2014 and it worked fine for a few weeks, after which, the laptop has detected a hardware failure. I had a HP technician install a pirated windows 8 on my pc and it also gave me a series of DVDs of recovery for windows 8 to be used on a HP or compaq PC.

It is a set of 3 DVDs 'system recovery' and 1 DVD "valorization of the pilot. The problem starts when I insert the first DVD of system recovery. He didn't autolay not. I checked with control panel and made sure that the "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices" option is checked. But autopsies shows two options: -.

1 open the folder to view the files, and

    2. don't do anything.

Now, on the DVD it says: "insert the disk and follow the instructions on the screen. But there is no on-screen instructions.

I opened the folder and it contains a lot of files with names that I don't understand. Please let me know how I can get the DVD to play automatically.

    Thank you

I replaced my 100 GB HDD (Toshiba made, which included Toshiba Express Media Player by default factory) with 320 GB of HDD (Toshiba). I want to install Toshiba EMP.

When I boot from the recovery EMP disc has received this message:
Recovery is not supported on this system. Press any key to exit. (my ultimate Windows 7 x 64 operating system)
Also I have this message on the old HARD drive. Also the operating system Windows 7 x 64 Ultimate & Windows XP Professional x 86.

I've updated my BIOS version of 3.00 to 5.60 to install Windows 7 a few years ago.

    Perhaps the BIOS hinder?

If I m remembering well Toshiba offered this media player there is the old models like Satellite 5200 10 years so I m asking me what model of laptop you have exactly.

What of more confusing, is that you use Win7. Something wrong here.

You have to model more recent laptop and want to use this old piece of software or you have enough old laptop designed for Windows XP Home edition and use Win7 on it. I m confusing.

Currently, Toshiba offered recovery disk disk Toshiba Express Media Player and recovery for Windows XP Home edition and only the use of these two discs worked well. Now mix installation Toshiba Express Media Player with dual boot... I really put t know if it will work.

Main problem is that you will have problem to find someone who can test it for you. Let's see.

  • Windows XP Media Center Edition computer will not start.

When it starts, I get a BootMagic screen that allows me to choose the normal Windows operating system or partition DOS6. The next screen is text offering choices such as: Safe Mode, last known good Windows, normal windows, etc. None of the choices do something else that restart the boot process.
I have backups of the C: drive in real Image files and ntbackup. I would like to make a bootable cd or dvd with the files needed to be able to copy the data on another dvd or on the local network to another computer. This computer was made by the gateway. No real installation CD were provided, just a "operating system Disk' which is of no use. The disk has been partitioned as C: D: K: etc. I added a 40 GB IDE drive, which is where half the data is I want back. I can 'see' readers when I boot from an old CD disk to Image, but may not see the LAN or write in the CD burner. Basically, should what files I put on a cd to boot?

Well, almost a month since the gateway computer's dead, and I do not have anything on it. Spent a lot more time for the new computer with Windows 7 to run my most used programs: WordPerfect and Lotus 1-2-3. According to me, that you gave me a choice when I reinstalled Windows 7 to use either 64 or 32-bit. If I had a choice, it is 64. At this point, I wish I had chosen 32, due to all the incompatibilities resulting in 64. I doubt that there are real benefits for me. One thing they point out is his ability to deal with > 4 GB of RAM. This computer has 2.

What I installed was XP HP discs received with a laptop period of 2002. Probably violates some policy Windows, but my rationalization was that bridge should have on giving me the opportunity to re - install the Windows XP Media Center edition. I prefer to get this OS works because it has a smooth operation built in encryption system.
I tried to use the provided gateway recovery cd again, but not long after starting it fails with a 'memory overflow, please insert another disk' message. Gateway support has not been cooperative, so I can try again. I think that they have it for me.

The XP system is running on a 40 GB IDE drive that I had added to the computer. There are too many error messages trying to install an operating system on theoriginal 250 GB SATA drive. Usually the installation of software did not see the SATA drive. He is currently disconnected. It work pretty well in the new computer from HP in the 2nd SATA slot for to retrieve me my data.

I have an old computer with windows xp media Center is installed. I'm looking to build upon after sitting unused for over a year so I want to do a new installation. I also think that the hard drive is running out (maybe why I stopped using it) because it makes a very loud grinding noise when used so I have a spare hard drive to swap in.

It includes a hard disk recovery partition and I have the license for it, both on the side of the case and from the registry.

How can I reinstall the operating system on the new drive?

What a pleasure - this really makes the license issues a joy.
If I understand you right, "fried" your old computer was XP Home Edition - and the replacement motherboard came from a machine with MCE?
If so, then Yes, you must use the MCE license, rather than the home one. To be entirely legal, it must also have the sticker COST MCE glued to the box.
MCE is XP Pro - which is a reason that you can not change just the product key-based. The other is that the update tool simply is not designed to work with MCE.
    What can you do?
Unfortunately, there is no way around it, whatever you do will involve a clean install (to backup your data first led outdoors!) If you want to stick with MCE.

    (1) you can go to the manufacturer of the MCE machine and ask if they can provide the recovery disc for this machine - if you're lucky, they may still have some in stock. If they are not, try restoredisks.com
    (2) you can take your life in your hands and download a torrent of a set of installation MCE - it's going to be at least two CD there are a couple of "real" out there, who are free of malicious software, but most is contaminated in some way, so be very careful and do due diligence on any download you.
    (3) you can try to find a legitimate MCE pack on sale somewhere - I don't know what it should cost, or that also the prices on them are moving from MS stopped making years and they are like gold dust. (XP Pro prices are rising, but I suspect that MCE prices may be down).
    (4) you can purchase a legal license for XP Edition family - again, be very careful where you buy-it came to a point where there are more counterfeits than legal market. This would allow you to use the update tool to keep your current installation.

Note that there is no such thing as a 'detail' MCE - MCE all licenses are OEM and as such, cannot upgrade a XP Home license, where my earlier warning about backing up your data.

  • Download pirated Windows XP Media Center with the genuine key?

    Hi all

First of all, I apologize if the thread, I created is in the wrong place (Technet forums), but I got enough good help from technet on a Windows 7 problem, that I had. I've recently updated to the Genuine Windows XP Media Center to a genuine Windows 7 Professional.

I own a HP pavilion laptop came pre-loaded with XP MC (media center). Now, HP does not record with the laptop, instead, there is a recovery partition which can be transferred to DVD to create additional space on the HARD drive, I did. Unfortunately my DVD player no longer works, and I can not restore my XP to factory settings (new facility) because the HP restore software only reads from the DVD.

This XP has become bloated over time, and I want to do a new installation.

It is, I could download a pirated copy of the media center XP SP3 and use my real serial number and / or additional information to activate it?

    Thank you

No, because your key is specific to an HP facility.

  • Windows 8 media for portable computer with Windows 7

    Hello

One of my clients recently bought a laptop HP 250 G2.

It was preloaded with Windows 7 Pro, but clearly indicated on the box that it was also supplied with Windows 8 media, although she was allowed only for one at a time.

I did the recovery DVDs which would probably be re - install Windows 7 pro, if used.

There is no DVD of Windows provided in box 8. How are they obtained? The supplier told me to contact HP, because they do not know the answer.

I can provide supplier and order details if requested.

    Thank you very much, Andy

    Andy,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

You will need to speak directly to HP - we are a personal forum community.  HP provides administration and services of moderation only; they are not here in an official capacity.

When you call, try Post sales or something similar in the menu.  You don't want to end up with Technical Support - you will just get bounced since this isn't a technical problem any.  The same warranty services could be better than technical support, you need to get your hands on a person "live" from the beginning to explain what you need so you can be transmitted.

If you are the US or Canada, you may be able to handle this by CAT - there is little or no waiting like this.  I don't know the extent to which they are able to manage this kind of investigation; I think it would be worth the time to ask the question if the phone lines are too uptight.
