changes in movie maker screen width for download

My project is turned letter boxed, edited on another computer in first 6.0, then downloaded on DV tape. Now I'm tryin to put on my laptop (Vista) to show when I travel.  While downloading it switches from normal screen to wide screen intermittently during the transfer, so I finished simply double letter boxed footage. This format switching back ends on the transfer is unusable. It also reduces the project of 5 1/2 minutes in several clips.  Is there a settings window that I can solve this?

John, thanks for getting back to me.  I still diagnosed the problem. I am importing a DV over SD tape which has been published on first 6.0 on an old Mac that is not online.  The band plays OK on my TV. Import Moviemaker, it plays ok, except when integrated dissolution occurs in the Strip.  After 16:9 4:3 for the duration of the disslove, then 16:9 the disslove. She does whenever there is a dissolution. This is visible when importing and later read.  I tried to change the formats as you suggest, it did nothing.  I tried to uncheck all filters, which did nothing.  I am importing to Moviemaker only so I can up load on Youtube since the Mac is offline.  It is also as important to 16:9, regardless of the setting.  The show was shot Letterbox, so I'm getting a double effect wide.
Thanks, Rusty

Best bet would be to convert the files to the. WMV format
before you import into Movie Maker.

There are many converters available on the net... some

The following freeware converter is just one example:

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup280.exe out of the folder

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

  • Have used Windows Movie Maker very well for months and now it stops just to work

OK, so I had a recent problem with Movie Maker. How original is that? For months and months I used it with only minor headaches. But I can't understand it and I spent hours to friction on this problem and the search for something. All Google tell me is to make sure that my files are in a format that is accepted! Duh! I use them very well until about a month ago.

After months of works very well, many of my clips imported media (especially. AVI and others. WMV) has decided to stop working one day. The video will not play, but the sound is very good. I re-imported the videos just to be sure, but no luck... He would not even show a thumbnail after I imported the.

Original title: what is the problem with WMM? Help, please!
I tried to look at the files in Media Player and got a black screen with audio complete.
I reformatted the. AVI files (using zamzar.com) in. Format WMV, but when I tried to import those, he would give me some nonsense. In any case, I tried to defrag my drive hard as someone suggested online (I have an old computer anyway) but I don't really think it helped.
It could be a codec problem (I don't know what would have prompted such), the Enigma is that SOME of my clips will play in the preview, but they stop working as soon as I drag them on the timeline. And I found one. WMV file in one of my old projects that will play in the panel mounting.
I even tried to save an unfinished project to my computer (16:9 aspect ratio, high quality NTSC). But I got an error message: "WMM cannot be saved to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the backup location is still available, and that there is enough available disk space, and then try again. "So I tried to save the recommended"best suited"on a blank CD and it always gave me this message
I hope this info helps (I don't know what most of it means):

It's your RAM. When video editing with an application like film

That said, perhaps the following information will be useful:

The most common reasons for Movie Maker problems are...

    (1) source incompatible or damaged (video clips, pictures, music files).

    (2) incompatible, corrupt or nonexistent filters (Codecs).

    (3) projects that are too big or too complex for the system resources.

First... Open Movie Maker and go to... Tools / Options /.

Try to create your project and find out whether there is a
    improvement.

If no improvement, return to the same settings

    As for file formats...

Several formats are apparently compatible with

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
(FWIW... DV - AVI is a specific format... it's
doesn't mean "everything". AVI files are compatible with
    Movie Maker.)
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv

There are to many converters available on the net and

experiment and see which suits you best.

I'm guessing that you saved the. MSWMM Movie Maker project files?

The problem is that the. MSWMM project file does not include your

I am trying to load a video You Tube and Facebook of Movie Maker on Vista, yet both programs say that they do not support the MSWMM file name extension. How can I change the extension wmv or something supported by these programs without destroying the file?
I already changed the position of file name by renaming the file, but it destroyed and I was not even able to see.

    Hi Linsala,

Try highlighting your video on the collection list and then clicking Save film on top of the toolbar. Go through the steps and it should save it as a wmv.

  • When I share a file, can I make it available for download?

I used the function send a link on Adobe Creative cloud to share one of my files, but my friend can not download the file. Is there an option I can set so that the file can be downloaded?

Yes, you can make shared files available for download. You can also allow or disallow comments on the shared file. To set these options, follow these steps:

    1. Open the file you want to share on creative cloud.
    2. On actions on the right side of the window, click Options.
3. Select the sharing options you want: allow comments, downloads or both.

  • Brightness fluctuates as the screen changes (watch movies or open windows for example)

Ive a brand new HP Pavilion 15 and Ive noticed when I opened a window or the screen goes a dark to a light image (for example, while watching the video), brightness adjusts in increments of half the second.

For example, with a background image dark, I opened a window, I see in the white area of the window, half a second after opening the brightness of "whiteness" is rather dull and increments of bleachers, it becomes clearer and brighter.

It takes about 3-4 seconds for the light to continue to increase.  I also note, it is not just the window that shines upward, but the lighter areas of the background also brighten at the same pace.

Its extremely irritating and I can't find the settings to this.  It feels as if the brightness is self-adjustment according to what is on my screen, but I can do myself with the brightness setting!
I have tried this with the setting of brightness placed as high as possible and at various levels but still seem to get the same result.

Any help would be appreciated.  Is it a hardware failure?

Jowelboy, if you're still here, I found a solution...

If you have the Intel HD graphics card on your laptop, the GUI driver is probably the substitution of all the Windows settings you are trying to change.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Go to the start screen for Windows and search for 'Intel '. Under 'Settings' select "Intel HD Graphics" or Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel"(there are many ways to get to this setting). You can also right click on your desktop and select "Graphics properties", but make sure it has the "Intel" logo next to it.
    2. Once you are in the Intel graphic user interface, go to the power--> battery--> Turn OFF "Display Power Saving Technology." Depending on your driver version, this GUI can vary in appearance, but in the end, you are eager to find and disable "Display Power Saving Technology."
    3. You won't see a difference to what you click on 'Apply', how you will probably notice your screen brighten. It will ask you to confirm. That should solve.

(I can't take credit for this fix. The nice people at EightForums.com posted a nice tutorial here, but if you're like me, you have tried everything that does not. It is the last step of the tutorial (described above) that it resolved for me. Someone should really sticky this issue as it has been updated a few times in these forums.

At the top of the timeline, there is (-) and (+) synbols, click the plus sign (+) symbol and you can each time frame is more tender. You need still longer, until it agin clicks. It shows in the timeline panel.
You can also do adjusment to each individual slide, that is, you can create a slide run longer than the others.
To do this, you must do it manually...
Place your cursor on the right of the slide edge > the cursor is transformed into a pointer 2 > left click and hold > drag the cursor where you want to. The "sovereign" in the upper part is the guide.
This manual adjusment will give you more specific term changes, while the sign (+) and (-) options are not.
