  I develop a configuration dialog box that uses a tree control and a tabbed pane and I have problems with the timing of the event. The tree control presents the structure of the connected equipment and the tabs pane shows the configuration for the selected node. The tree control is used as a tabbed pane may not have additional tabs created during execution, and the connected equipment vary from installation to installation. Rather than write a pane tabs hardcoded for each deployment, I use a flexible class structure that allows an "m x n' configuration - m zones with n channels per area, but n varies by area.   Now that you know what it is supposed to do, here's the problem: it only works if you do not click on the tree after a value is changed. For example if you enter in a new 'ladder' and then click elsewhere on the tabbed pane, the value is correctly associated with the node. If you click another node in the tree before leaving the field, the value is assigned to the node clicked instead. I looked at the timestamps for events and field "changed value" fires first, so the value of the tree should still be the original node. On the contrary, the tree seems to update before the event to "change the value" of the field is managed, even if the event of the field were pulled everything first. I read the value of the tree inside the event handler for the field, but there is no way to get the 'previous' value is the field control in the tabs pane.

  So where should I go from here? Is this a legitimate race condition, or am I just not processing events properly? I prefer not to post the code because it is pretty heavy with all its dependencies, but I can try to do a simple example.

  My other thought (like Altenbach) would store in a shift of the currently selected item register.  Since the change in value of the tree that happens after change in the value of the parameter, you read the registry value of offset for the change of setting and then update the registry to offset with the change in value of tree.  Do not forget to connect the values directly but for any event except the change in value of tree.

  I have a VI that communicates with an FPGA via a telnet interface.  I have several Boolean controls on the front panel.  When you click a control, it sends a write command on the face i in telnet to the FPGA.  Similarly, if a process in the FPGA himself wrote the same registry (that control written when I clicked on it), an order is generated in the FPGA and returned to the VI and the control (via a local variable) lights or unlights accordingly (based on value).  In other words, these controls are read-write...

  It's all workers, except for one important thing.  I have the code that runs through a structure of event whenever the value of the control changes.  I can see that this code executes in fact when I click on the control via the front panel.  HOWEVER - when something is generated in the FPGA finally changes the value of the control, the structure of the event does not, even if I see the value of the change of control on my front.

  A specific example, I have a control named CLIENT_LB.  When I click on CLIENT_LB, I see it lights up, and I see the event structure code run.  Now, if I have the FPGA process to set CLIENT_LB to 0, I see unlight on my front, but does not run the code structure of the event.  I have probes in place who have checked the associated local variable CLIENT_LB evolving impact of values.  The structure of the event reads: 'CLIENT_LB': value change.

  Shouldn't an event structure "value change" run when the value changes, regardless of whether if it happened manually (i.e. me by clicking on the control) or automatically (i.e. the FPGA written in VI and changes the value of the control)?

  The VI is great, and you would not be able to test it in any case unrelated to the material, to remedy that I've attached 2 screenshots, I have described below.

  1. This is where the string from the FPGA analysis occurs.  The chain between the sub - VI, and then the data chain part is hidden to determine if the Boolean value of the control is true or false.  I put a probe on CLIENT_LB, and I see that as the FPGA changes the value of the register, CLIENT_LB passes from false to true as a result.  I checked this several times.

  2. it is the structure of the event.  This code runs when I click on CLIENT_LB on my face, but does not run when the peak CLIENT_LB #1 local variable is changed.

  Writing to variables never fires events to "change the value. If writing should raise this event, use the property "Value (follow the signs).

  Hello

  I created a VI with 2 while loops and structure 1 integrated event. The first while loop creates a square wave and the value of the pass signal periodically - this event is registered by a property node and also shown on an indicator. I've linked the second event called "Mode-number: changed value" so that the signal and tried in various ways to "activate" the structure of the event (I tried to use event dynamic registration, property nodes, event tool etc.

  Attached to this message is a png of the VI file.

  No idea what could be the problem?

  You must use "user events. You should also look at some of the examples/tutorials on how to use them, see here: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361K-01/lvhowto/creating_user_events/

  What you have done is to try to enter a value in both structures change event - this is not actually generate a value change event. Value change events are generated when you (as a user) change a value of a control on the front panel.

  Alternatively, you can use the 'Value (signalling)' property that will allow you to update the value of an indicator and also generate the event changes its value. I think in your case if you are better to use user events.

• LabVIEW digital control does not raise an event changed value when the button entry is hit

  I used to be able to type a value in a numeric control of LabVIEW, then press 'Enter' to trigger an event "changed value".  Then at some point, this no longer works.  I have to click elsewhere to trigger the event of value has changed.  The up and down arrow keys work always, but just typing a number then press enter does not work.  Is this a configuration settings got accidentally changed?  Help, please!

  Now I need to keep the same procedures described above, but I need to raise an event when the user clicks any boolean (led) change state. I thought about the event "change value", but when I click on the led to trigger the event of "change value", the "mouse down" event is also triggered.

  Any suggestions?

  The real VI is a little different from what I described, but the problem is exactly the same.

  The command you have posted has several components:

  The gray area of the transport layer uses for a checksum

  several bits set to 0.

  a single bit to define if it's a read/write operation

  a byte to identify the register of interests.

  two bytes for the data.

  With what you have provided, there are only three things we need to worry:

  (1) set the R/W bit to 0 to mean we're reading rather than write.

  (2) set the second byte 0 x 41 to focus on the register of interests.

  (3) with a reading, I can't imagine the last issue of two bytes.  They probably ignored.  The documentation you provided does nothing to explain this.  The most logical thing I can think is that these two bits contain the data, you go to the registry if you set the R/W bit to 1.

  There are two parts to this communication.  The first part is an entry VISA to send this control unit.  It is likely that you will need to complete the message.  You will need to know how to do this.

  The device must respond with the message that you mentioned in the original post.  Crows is right.  He's coming back as a string.  You can use the subset of string to separate the components defined by the standard.  You can use these components to determine if the data is legitimate and then do what you want with the data.

  I want to filter unwanted numbers that occur when switch between different values.

  I have 5 buttons that are all interconnected to disable the other when one of them is enabled (using the Set/Reset mechanism). The Boolean value of each key are sent in an array that is converted to an integer. The values I need that exits Digital are 1,2,4,8,16. When I change the values from 1 to 4 for example, it will be in the order of 1-> 5-> 4. This is caused by the fact that for a very short time, two tables are True.

  In other words, I need to filter the number 5 and all the other values that aren't 1,2,4,8,16 and only pass these values. It must also work in the opposite direction, for example, 4-1.

  You use the standard event, not the dynamic one (note that the Boolean value does not have the <> ).

  OK, the problem is that listItemComponents attached to a control, such as ListView have their own context. ListItemComponent documentation refers to what I think. If you must do the following:

  1. do you have a property that is defined as an attribute of the ListView

  2 bind your fontSizeValue to listItemComponent tag to the ListView. Note, however, to do this, you need to get a reference to the ListView using your label ListItem.view is found in the container. Not obvious, I know.

  3. do you have your cursor to update the property you have defined for the ListView.
