Characters special keyboard

Hi all

I recently bought an end of 2013 mac book pro and I'm having a particular problem. When I hold shift and numbers on the top row, the wrong characters are displayed. Now, I know most of you my point to the keyboard input source, or preferred language options, but I tried several times already. In addition, I tried a new install of OSX and still, the same things happen.

Making it a little more annoying, is that my keyboard works fine in my VM Win7 on Fusion 8 on the MBP even. Weird right? Although these conditions lead me to believe it's a software problem of some sort.

Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly what is the sequence you get instead of the standard (for US) of! @ # $ % ^ & * ( )    ?

    Hey @KristenMC,

    I understand that you have some problems with your Officejet 4635 e-all-in-one printer connection to your new router. I can help you with that.

    Special characters are located on the Star (*) and pound (#) key. If you press one of these keys they will scroll many special characters. If you make a mistake, then you can press the buttons arrow to go back a back space.

    It sounds like the problem of keyboard layout... It seems that your keyboard is set to English UK... to check...

    To check this, click Start, type intl.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. On the keyboards and languages tab, click Change keyboards.

    You should see 2 inputs English (United States) and English (United Kingdom). If true, remove English (United Kingdom). Who should take care of it...

  • characters special d005tu

    Hello

    I own HP D005TU. I am facing a lot of trouble with special characters, especially the one on the line number on the keyboard (such as!, @ etc...). Most of the time as the characters don't is just typed. Need an urgent solution to this. Help, please.

    Hello Arundhati,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

    I understand that the special characters along the top of your keyboard do not respond. You can me if nothing gets typed, or if instead of one!, @, #, $, %, filled it with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc...

    If this is the case have you noticed problems with typing the capitol letters? This could indicate a problem with your shift key.

    If nothing is typed, try this:

    1. Press Windows + X keys
    2. Click on Control Panel
    3. Click on clock, language and region
    4. Click on the region and language
    5. Click the keyboards and languages tab
    6. Click on change keyboards...
    7. On the general tab, make sure that English (United States) - U.S. is selected in the default input language field.
    8. Click any other keyboards in the list of installed services
    9. Click on delete
    10. Repeat for all other non-English (United States) keyboards.

    Let me know if it helps!

  • Special keyboard keys Bootcamp-lost after upgrade to Windows 10

    I have an iMac of 2014 that was running Windows 7 with Bootcamp.

    I have upgraded to Windows 10 (using the upgrade option if windows) and everything was fine.

    After a power cut I can no longer start Windows 10 so I repaired the installation.  W10 is working now, BUT the special keys on the apple keyboard (brightness, volume, etc.) no longer work.

    I tried to re - download the software and drivers support for Win10 through Bootcamp Assistant, but he asks me if I want to delete the installation of Windows 7 (SEVEN Yes).

    Any ideas would be welcome.

    Thank you

    Download the driver appropriate for your model package specific to install Windows 7 and previous versions on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple support on a USB2 flash drive and run setup.exe from the Bootcamp folder when it is started in Windows.

  • Choice of wide characters of keyboard

    Since the Mountain Lion, it has been possible to choose from a menu of extended characters (foreign accents, for the most part) by holding a key.  Now, when I try to do this in Safari, instead of getting the menu, I get a frozen program forces me to exit Safari and start over.  This happened with my previous Bluetooth keyboard and also happens with the new keyboard of magic.  That's happened?

    This only happens to you in Safari?  Or also in Mail, TextEdit, Pages, messages, Notes, etc.?

    Regular expression to parse the string in square brackets:
    I am trying to parse a string in square brackets, but as [] are special characters used in regular expressions to start a character class, I want to remove its special meaning. This regular expression **_user=[a-zA-Z]*@[a-zA-Z]{2}+.abc.com_** works for the analysis of [email protected]* but I want to analyze _user = [[email protected]] _ *, I use the term regular *user=\[[a-zA-Z]*@[a-zA-Z]{2}+.abc.com\]*_* but is in error because it makes special sense of character class. • Unable to paste characters special unicode

    I can't paste special characters of the unicode character map in Photoshop.  The font is Myriad Pro.  I copy the special characters in the character map, but when I try to paste it into a field of text PS I just get a box with an X through it.  The special character is U + 2756 (Black Diamond less white X).

    I tried the 32 bit version (also installed), but got exactly the same result.  As far as I know Photoshop supports unicode.  What's wrong?

    Photoshop CS5 Extended

    Windows 7 64 bit

    All references and each police app I've tried said that Myriad Pro does not contain this glyph.

    Sorry, but it seems that the table of characters may be relying on font substitution.

  • Problem of L50 - B satellite with special characters in country

    I recently bought the laptop SATELLITE L50 - B - 17 c and have a problem with special characters from countries in windows 7.

    In Polish, key key programmer combination right alt and the keys 'z', 'x', and 'c' should give the Polish special characters.

    Unfortunately this does not work for these three keys, however works other keys in Polish characters as 'l', 'n', 'a', a ' or 'e '. I suspect that this may be linked to the special key Fn,.

    However turning or disable in the BIOS did not help. Maybe there should be a driver of special keyboard for windows 7, but I have not found it :(

    {quote} I recently bought the laptop SATELLITE L50 - B - 17 c and have a problem with special characters from countries in windows 7. {quote}

    The laptop has been presintalled and configured with the Win 8.1 System.
    Have you noticed this problem with installation of Win 7 8.1 or after the victory?

    If you have an external USB keyboard, I recommend you to check if the same problem would appear using the USB keyboard. In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, the problem could be related to a defective internal keyboard

  • tests for special characters? (Winner JS CS5.5)

    Is there some sort of boolean, or function to tell if a character is a member of the Group of SpecialCharacters?

    I need to test if a range of text ends with a carriage return & had used a loop that proved the last character of the items found with myFoundItems [i] .characters [-1].contents.charCodeAt () == 13, which was fine except when the last character is be a special character. Because special characters not properly return a character code, script errors on. I have seen useful messages on filtering & translation of the characters special unicode, but nothing on a simple test.

    Maybe I'm still a rube rather miss a reference of Jongware... my skills are such that it seems that I would need to identify and test all possibilities (ugh!). Looks like he'd come enough that someone would have a practical function laying around...

    Thanks for any wisdom on this point.

    Hello

    1. to check if the myChar.contents is an element of SpecialCharacters , I think that you can just use the test

    ('object' is typeof myChar.contents)

    Since then in other cases typeof returns "string" (assuming that myChar is a valid instance of the character ).

    2. in any case, you can safely and always convert a single character (or any text) to a pure string JS help

    myChar.texts [0] .silence

    This tip prevents the content to return an item of SpecialCharacters property even if myChar is a 'special character '.

    Hello

    Since you are using Oracle 11.2, you can do it with a WITH recursive clause, like this:

    MERGE INTO dst t

    WITH THE HELP OF)

    MORPHING (q, result, n_to_do, start_pos, end_pos) AS

    (

    Q SELECT

    ,       d || ' ' AS a result

    REGEXP_COUNT (q

    , '#\d+\(\d+\):'

    ) AS n_to_do

    REGEXP_INSTR (q,

    , '#\d+\(\d+\):'

    1

    REGEXP_COUNT (q

    , '#\d+\(\d+\):'

    )

    ) AS start_pos

    LENGTH (q) AS end_pos

    T

    UNION ALL

    Q SELECT

    REPLACE (result

    , ':' || n_to_do | ' '

    , NVL (RTRIM (REGEXP_SUBSTR (SUBSTR (q, 1, end_pos))))

    , '#\d+\(\d+\):(.*)'

    start_pos

    1

    NULL

    1

    )

    )

    , 'NULL '.

    )

    ) AS a result

    , n_to_do - 1 AS n_to_do

    REGEXP_INSTR (q,

    , '#\d+\(\d+\):'

    1

    BIGGER (1

    , n_to_do - 1

    )

    ) AS start_pos

    REGEXP_INSTR (q,

    , '#\d+\(\d+\):'

    1

    n_to_do

    ) - 1 AS end_pos

    MORPHING

    WHERE n_to_do > 0

    )

    Q SELECT, result

    MORPHING

    WHERE n_to_do = 0

    ) CBC

    WE (dst.q = src.q)

    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE

    SET dst.result = src.result

    ;

    You can have any number of rows in table t, but they must have a unique key.  I assumed q was unique, highest, but it can be a column or combination of columns.

    It works with any number of values.

    The character "#" can occur in the values, just that it does not part of the point of shells #-figures-leftparen-figures-rightparen-colon. If "#" occurs in this model, you can't simplify regular expressions, as John.

    The above solution was written for the table that you posted in response #6, where q contained values, and d was the formula with the holders of the place for values.  You seem that overthrew in your last message, you may need to reverse I used q and d.

    Whatever your problem, it seems to be a way very uncomfortable to solve.  You need to rethink your data model.  In particular, stroring data in delimited as q lists are a bad idea.  Relational databases work best when when each column contains a single value, not a list of any number of values.  It is so basic to the design of database he called first normal form.

    This would help a lot if post you more simple examples.  Instead of having 7 values, some close to 200 characters, you could show the problem just as well (better, in fact) with 3 or 4 values, no tha 10 don't characters each.
