Installation of Hyperion 11.1.2.3 - client 32-bit Oracle problems
Hi all
I'm trying to install the Hyperion 11.1.2.3 below environment, seems I get a very strange error.
Windows XP Mode environment:
Details of the laptop:
OS - Windows XP 32-bit (in virtual - using windows XP Mode)
RAM - 8 GB
DB: Oracle 11g EE
Hyperion products - Shared Services, EPMA, planning and RA 11.1.2.3
Successfully, I have installed and configured the 11.1.2.3 Hyperion. After restarting the machine, none of the Hyperion and DB products do not work. I started the problems in case of problem and found below.
In Hyperion 11.1.2.3, by default, customer database ORACLE - 32 or 64 bit is installed as well as Services of the Foundation. I guess, it creates the problem, because in the slot location, it creates a listener and Tnsname files. You can see the new menu called Oracle - Oraclient3211g - OS user name and customer files.
Note: If I try to uninstall client Oracle 32-bit systems, it displays the warning message * ' customer Oracle 32-bit is required for EPMA - Server Dimension service, uninstall the product will break the EPM features ' *_
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\config\dbclient
I checked the two newspapers (DB and Hyperion logs)
One of the Hyperion newspapers:
ORA-12505, TNS:listener is not currently of SID given in connect descriptor
DB logs:
ORA-01034 - ORACLE is not available
ORA-27101 - not shared memory realm leaves
The TNSPING error - TNS-03505 - utility could not resolve the name
I did reference two files tnsnames, seems some names are different.

Please anyone suggest me a good solution for this problem.
Thank youInstallation on an operating system would be a good start because XP is not supported.
Are you sure this is the installation of the customer who caused the problem as it should be ok, has been the database certainly work after a reboot before the installation of the software of the EMP.
If you delete the Oracle client (also remove the window - TNS_ADMIN environment variable) then restart and check the database works ok.See you soon

Choose between MySQL and Oracle - problem with MySQL text columns?
Hello.
New to this forum and Oracle please go easy on me.
I'm selecting data in a MySQL database.
This SQL works very well: -.
Select 'Device_Label' Device"@ed_link «»
where "Device_ID" = 6665;
Here, the MySQL Device_Label column is of type varchar (255).
This SQL fails with the error - ORA-00904: "Device_Tag": invalid identifier
Select 'Device_Tag' Device"@ed_link «»
where "Device_ID" = 6665;
Here, the MySQL Device_Tag column is of type text.
Column Device_Tag certainly exists and is populated.
Is the problem related to the MySQL type text column, and is there a solution?
Thank you.Hello
The ora-997 because of the entry door is not a restriction of the Oracle. You cannot use a table defined as a long in the create table... as select statement..., you would see the problem even if it was a copy of Oracle for Oracle.
If one of the columns of MySQL are translated as a long in Oracle you will hit this problem.
The bypass alone is to avoid columns long or you can try to create a view in MySQL by using the cast function, which converts the columns that translate to long something and then use it in the create statement.Kind regards

Published by: adebarbara on 16-mar-2011 16:15Hi Andres,
When On Track is first installed, it is configured to not be available to end users. It gives the administrator an opportunity to complete the configuration of the system (for example, the LDAP configuration) before opening it up to users. The message "The Application is closed at present" indicates that you have not yet opened the system for users. To do this, use the administration console (https://yourserver/ontrackAdmin), go to the 'Application' settings and change the "status of the request' to 'Closed' to 'open '.
Hope that helps,
-Dan

Problem with Oracle Import/Export database
I'm doing some imp/exp between two oracle databases.
During the import, I got an error:
IMP-00060: WARNING: jump table "BIAPPS". "' HR_LOCATIONS_ALL ' because the object of type 'MDSYS. "' SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY ' does not exist or to identify different
However, when I connect my database as sysdba goal and run the following script:
Select object_name, object_type, owner of dba_objects where object_name = 'SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY ';
I found that the object type is actually existing in my target database:
OWNER OBJECT_TYPE OBJECT_NAME

SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY PUBLIC SYNONYM
SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY TYPE MDSYS
I run "Grant all on sdo_ordinate_array to biapps;" and tried to import the table again, but the I still have the same error information.
Could someone tell me the reason of this problem and how to get this HR_LOCATIONS_ALL imported? Thank you very much.

Hi all
I just want to know, why oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 giving more problem than oracle 11.2.0.1?
The problems here:
1 resolved multicast (multicast open or patch)
Miladin Modrakovic through. His blog issue-with-oracle-11-2-0-2-new-redundant-interconnect give me a solution to open Multicast 230.0.1.0 on cisco switch
2 DNS problem (PRVF-5636: DNS response for an unreachable node time exceeded "15000" ms)
Someone has already asked on this forum: , but still no solution for this problem of PRVF-5636.
Thank you

I just want to know, why oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 give me more problem than oracle 11.2.0.1?
You can use Oracle Support to fix all bugs on Oracle software. Simply open the SR
1 resolved multicast (multicast open or patch)
This bug is documented for the Clusterware installation, find the Bug 9974223:
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11882_01/READMEs.112/e17129/TOC.htm#CHDIEHCH* Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.2 Installation or upgrade may fail due to the requirement of multicast [1212703.1 ID] *.
2 DNS problem (PRVF-5636: DNS response for an unreachable node time exceeded "15000" ms)
This isn't an Oracle problem, but a DNS problem that can cause instability in the clusterware, YES does not proceed without resolving the problem in your nodes.
Date of arrival:
/etc/resolv.conf /etc/nsswitch.conf find line hosts: on file nsswitch.conf The order of keywords on this line indicates the order in which your SO references the name services. (dns or host file)
Kind regards

Change NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS in Oracle 10g
Hi all
I need to change the NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS of a BYTE to CHAR oracle database. The procedure for this is as below:
1. run the following command
ALTER system set nls_length_semantics = 'CHAR' scope = both;
2 Restrat the database.
This change will affect the existing data in the database? If not, how to manage the effect of this change to the existing data on this database.
Please advice.DOM Brooks wrote:

Help on the basics of understanding Oracle
I lived in the world of Microsoft SQL Server for years, and I'm about to start getting my feet wet in the world of the Oracle; problem is: I know jack-squat about Oracle.
Can someone direct me to a link/documentation on how to translate concepts of Microsoft SQL to Oracle?
IE Oracle made appeal to the SPID concept? In others: "Oh, spid number 47 blocking spid number 93. I'd kill better spid 47 "
Oracle gives the possibility to watch the index fragmentation (I would use DBCC Showcontig() in Microsoft for this)?
Is there an equivalent tool in Oracle to Microsoft SQL Profiler?
Is that a similar process to rebuild an index in Oracle like MSSQL?
Are levels of isolation in similar Oracle to MSSQL (readcommitted, readuncommited, etc.)?
Is the process of an application (perhaps .NET) to connect to a similar Oracle database, in theoretical and practical, to connect to a MSSQL Server?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place in the forum and if they are too simple questions, but any help would be really appreciated.
Thank youuser12311880 wrote:

As others pointed out, start with the concepts manual. Go to asktom.oracle.com and follow the links to find his books.
IE Oracle made appeal to the SPID concept? In others: "Oh, spid number 47 blocking spid number 93. I'd kill better spid 47 "
Yes, but it is worth noting that the concepts manual explains in detail how this is quite different in Oracle. If the bulb lights up above your head, you can exclaim that it is much better as a default value. Bring attention to the coherence of reading and explanations locking.
Oracle gives the possibility to watch the index fragmentation (I would use DBCC Showcontig() in Microsoft for this)?
In Oracle, it's pretty rare that you actually have to deal with that. As others have noted, there is some controversy. See the blog of Richard Foote after down you the concepts.
Is there an equivalent tool in Oracle to Microsoft SQL Profiler?
There are a lot of tools. See the guide to performance and there is quite a few available in the dbconsole/Enterprise Manager. Be aware that you should not become dependent on the GUI tools, but should learn the underlying controls. Start with the manual of the Performance. Book Cary Millsap, consult.
Is that a similar process to rebuild an index in Oracle like MSSQL?
Once again, it is pretty rare, actually need to deal with this. You may encounter people who disagree. Be aware that they can be wrong. Some specific applications, it may be true.
Are levels of isolation in similar Oracle to MSSQL (readcommitted, readuncommited, etc.)?
See the guide to the concepts and Tom books.
Is the process of an application (perhaps .NET) to connect to a similar Oracle database, in theoretical and practical, to connect to a MSSQL Server?
There are many ways to connect. See the concepts guide. There are manuals of networking for more details. In addition, My Oracle Support has some documents and examples. You can use vulgar ways to connect, if that is appropriate depends on what you are doing.

Everyone starts somewhere. You will have a lot of help if you show that you are willing to put the time and effort in. You can get a lot of response as "it depends...". "You can download and start trying some things! You will have to unlearn some misconceptions. Good luck!

Hello
I am trying to create a deploymentarchive of SVN with groovy.
Reference level is started getting VM that I use to check in the mappings and 1 pkg/scen locally.
After tagging the content out of ODI in Version 1.0, I tried the following code:
password Char [] = "oracle".
OdiVcsRepositoryConnectionInfo = (OdiVcsRepositoryConnectionInfo) .createSvnConnectionUsingHttpBasicAuthentication rci ("http://localhost/svn/svnrepository", "odiuser1", password);
String pVCSLabel = "Version 1.0".
String pName = "full TestDeployment".
String pDescription = "this is test export a archive of execution of svn.
DeploymentArchiveType pAType = DeploymentArchiveType.INITIAL
String pFilename = "Initial_Deployment.zip."
Char [] pExportKey = null
Boolean pIncludePhysicalTopologyData = true
Boolean pCreateWithoutCipherData = true
IDA IDeploymentArchive = (DeploymentService) .createDeploymentArchiveFromLabel (odiin, pVCSLabel, pName, pDescription, pAType, pFilename, rci, pIncludePhysicalTopologyData, pExportKey, pCreateWithoutCipherData)
line 53
This results in the following error message:
INFO: Creating archives of INITIAL deployment began (22/12/15 07:47)
Taken: java.lang.NullPointerException
java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.odi.core.service.deployment.DeploymentService.createDeploymentArchiveFromLabel(DeploymentService.java:145)

at connect_to_svn.run(connect_to_svn.groovy:52)
Any ideas?
Hi Thomas,
I just duplicated your mistake on a very similar scenario, even if I use the connection of files based on svn. Assuming that the svn connection is good, then the problem is probably caused by the full path having not passed in the parameter file name, for example use pFilename = "/ deployment_archives/Initial_Deployment.zip.
See you soon,.
