  2. did you of recent changes to the computer?

  Step 1:

  If it works, you can use keyboard on the screen and check.

  Type without using the keyboard (on-screen keyboard)

  Step 2:

  You can also check if the keyboard works in safe mode.

  Start your computer in safe mode

  Try to restart flash cards.
  Start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities > restart Flash Cards

  After doing this press FN button several times to see if Flash Cards are still on the top of the screen.
  If you see Flash cards again use the FN + F9 key combination to activate the touch pad again.

  Hello benpierce25, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    then select restart with disabled modules.

  This software not did me not where the problem was. But the theory of this software pointed me to the Windows shortcut Commander (http://hkcmdr.anymania.com/index.html). I could find that software natural drive (which was the latest software I have installed the other day) was one that was hijacking the key sequence. Windows Hotkey Commander allows me to disable the special keystroke... well worth the money.

  Probably nothing, it's probably a fluke. Try resetting the SMC and the PRAM by iMac Intel SCM and reset the PRAM. If this does not work, try a USB keyboard to test, if it works then your original keyboard has failed and must be replaced.

  I agree with the user above. I think the keyboard needs to be replaced if certain keys n t work. The fact is that individual keys can t be bought, you can only buy the whole keyboard but it isn't so expensive.

  I upgraded my * portege M800 * bought * Canada * for * 64-bit Windows 7 *.
  Everything is good except the keyboard. It's a Canadian bilingual keyboard with 86 keys with 13 function keys and a buttons on console with 6 keys (cut, cd/dvd, play, stop, previous, next).
  I don't update all the drivers because it works very well with Windows 7 drivers.

  The problem is:

  These special functions of the FN keys and multimedia keys have nothing to do with the keyboard driver. There is no update driver in addition to the keyboard. There is only the Windows standard driver that can be used.

  If these two buttons are certainly defective there is nothing to see. As you know the essential mechanism is very small and very delicate. As much as I know it's not possible to order the buttons separately, but in my opinion, you should contact the Service of your country partner and explain the problem.   Hi all, I recently upgraded my ideapad Z470 to Windows 8, however, after the upgrade, seems the function key to not activate the wifi/bluetooth no long work, when I press the function (Fn + F5) key, it just would not bring up the software switch let me toggle the wifi & bluetooth on Windows 7 is.

  Also, I noticed that the Fn + F5 was taken by the 'Airplane Mode' function Windows 8, now everytime when I press these combination, it will trigger on/off airplane mode, is there something in my wifi/Bluetooth Fn key does not work do not?
