Chart "splash" on the screen

I've known graph 'spaltter' on my screen lately. seems most dominate with office 365 product but also have problems on some sharepoint sites. Anyone seeing this type of problem to have an idea how to fix?

This problem has been resolved by installing published pilot was last updated on 30/09/14 (version 10.18.10.3958) for the Intel HD Graphics 4000. It aired for almost a month now and the earlier symptoms have disappeared.

Case 3: (this can be linked) by pressing the button F3/F8 works, but only if I wait 5 seconds. If I press immediately after starting the computer, the screen freezes again and remains frozen. In addition, it will NOT display the live cd USB drives / bootable, that I plugged in; o

    Hello

Reinstall would be a waste of time because, as I already pointed out, the problem is not in the operating system. It has everything to do with how Toshiba implements access to their volume of recovery and absolutely nothing to do with the operating system. Your best chance of resolution is the manufacturer. If you take this route or not is your choice. Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

When I open Firefox there is a black bar, sometimes vertical, sometimes horizontal, in the upper part, with links to maps, Gmail etc. When I opened Gmail the same links are listed at the top of the screen, just under the tabs. In my wife's cell phone, it appears in the Firefox splash screen, but not in the form of Gmail. In the top of the screen is an extra-large gray bar with just one Google search box entry. • Questions from the screen and keyboard on Satellite R830-181

    Hello

    I had exactly the same problem with it;
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=280934

I also explained what is it and how it over time in this topic.

To sum up; my screen and keyboard do not work in my Toshiba Satellite R830-181, 13.3 '' laptop.

    My questions;
    1. is it a motherboard problem?

    2. as it runs on an external monitor, I guess that the graphics card or processor is fine.
There is no damage on the screen, so I guess there is a problem with the connection of the power supply to the screen.

If I buy a new screen I have my doubts it will work.

I'll probably send it to the service tech in my country (hard to find here reliable technology services Toshiba), however, I would like to know what may be the cause and if I can fix it myself.

What do you think guys? It is a power issue or a problem with the monitor itself?
If a power issue or something else rather than the screen, how can be fixed?
Same question applies to the keyboard.

    3. If I repair or fix myself, you think it will happen again? Because I think that this could be a faulty laptop computer of a certain series of production since someone else has experienced the same thing with this model.

can 4 - there be a relationship between the non-functional keyboard and screen?

    5. If this can be resolved with a replacement of the screen, that I need to find a laptop screen Toshiba R830 or I can buy any 13.3-inch screen?

As far as I know this model is not supported by the company more, so it is quite difficult to find a screen R830.
It is difficult to find a 13.3-inch screen, anyway, but still, if I can use the screen of another model which would ease my problems.

I need an idea on that.
    Thanks :)

    > 1 - is it a motherboard problem?
Not easy to say: If the external monitor works correctly then this isn't problem chart/motherboard.
The external USB keyboard works properly, if not motherboard problem too.

    > 2 - because it works on a monitor external I guess graphics card or processor is fine.
    Yes, that's correct.

    > If I buy a new screen I have my doubts it will work.
I do not recommend to buy the new parts before the defective parts has not been verified.

    > I'll probably send it to the service tech in my country (hard to find here reliable technology services Toshiba), however, I would like to know what may be the cause and if I can fix it myself.
Good idea to send it to Toshiba service partner since the guys would be able to control parts and fix it.

    > What do you think guys? It is a power issue or a problem with the monitor itself?
If a power issue or something else rather than the screen, how can be fixed?
    > Same question goes for the keyboard.

Don t think someone can tell exactly what's causing this according to me its just a bad luck material can start malfunction happens in every possible branch of industries (TV, computer, smartphone, cars)

can > 4 - there be a relationship between the non-functional keyboard and screen?
No, the keyboard is only connected to the motherboard, display is also connected to the motherboard, but there is no connection between the keyboard and the display.

  • Gray pixels below the back of the screen onto the Satellite Pro U series

    Hello.

After a month since the laptop purchase date, I had a problem with my screen (a black point aprox. 1 mm size - not dead pixels but something like a bug between plans display, perhaps between the trubright and the lcd screen, whatever it is these plans I don't know not-on the side rear of the screen, on the lower part), solved by Toshiba customer service using the replacement of the screen.

But, after one more month for the replacement, the problem was once again with some minor differences.

My screen looks like now, on the lower part of the screen (about 1-3 cm of the bottom line) a few other gray (this time) points, each with approximately 5-15 pixels of size.

I counted to date a total of four quite visible like these bugs and a few others having no importance because of very small size, on the different areas of the screen.

I am concerned because it seems these gray he appeared on time, more points. What mean these bugs and what solution is there?

I want to know your guys, if anyone has a similar problem, what the problem actually is and how you can permanently solve.
(I can not simple running again for the service because I guess I'll do every month)

    Thank you
    Iulian

PS: Please do not ask me how to clean it's screen. It is not my bugs he and the monitor (first surface I mean) have some some dirts. I'm very cautious in this regard.

    Hello

We could speculate about this problem, what might be wrong; Map chart or screen itself?  :| ?
    I think it s a default display

    > I want to know your guys, if anyone has a similar problem, that the root of the problem is and how you can fix it permanently.
Personally, I've never noticed these display problems on my laptop satellite.
I think it is foolish to discuss on the reasons why this happens it looks like simply a hardware problem. You ask how do I solve this problem?
In my opinion there is only on the solution; replacement screen.

Contact the ASP guy and ask for later handling.

  • Satellite A300D is runnig but the screen remains black

    Hello!

I have a big problem with my Satellite A300D.

This morning I forgot to connect my laptop to the net elec, and so my battery drains.
When I reconnected and restarted my laptop I could see the Toshiba and splash screens of Windows, but after these the laptop screen becomes black.

You can see the cursor, but the rest disappeared.
    The screen is all black.

Strangely, when I press ctrl + alt + delete, the vista opens again, and I can select and view the Task Manager.

    What should I do!

    Hello

There is a solution that could help bring back the screen.
in Notepad, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Wait about 30 minutes and reconnect the two parts.
Then try again to put the laptop.

In many cases, this procedure helped to set something like this.

    Hallo,

My problem starts when I changed my settings to a chart in a match.
    I change 1280 x 1024 to 800 x 600 and a few other things.
Change in the weather was quite long so I get nervus and reset my laptop. After that, my laptop screen make a strange things such as:
-When windows starts there is a white line across the windows logo that windows is unable to start correctly

I put my system in fan mode a reinstal all my drivers (display, update the bios, all drivers on the website of toshiba.
For a while, it was ok, but when I start any game even flash games online the screen turns white and jump online to go on screen.

Pleses help my not only tips to help.
Is perhaps the way to the graphics card puts the basic settings again?

P.S. I'm sorry for my English Polish. I hope that you understand everything.
I put here a few printscreen of the white lines if it helps.

    My system configuration:
    Windows XP service pack 2

    Hi Szymon

First, your English is great and I can understand everything ;)
    Back to the question;

I don t want to publish any terrible suggestion, but for me, the question looks really bad
From my experience, these lines are linked to a faulty graphics card chip :(
and this could be the worst case because the graphics chip is fixed on the mobo, and in most cases, the motherboard should be replaced.

But listen, man, very easily, you can check if the problem was caused by a faulty graphics card. If the white lines will be displayed again, and then connect the external monitor to the laptop and check if the same lines will appear on the second screen.
If Yes, then it s a bad GPU work.

  • Qosmio X 300 - 14 p: problems of graphics card and the vertical stripes on the screen

    Hello

2 days, after a long session laptop in many hours a lot, all of a sudden after the game for 2 hours
Patrician 4 addon, it crushed in a strange and never seen before in a way:

The screen would show the strange and weird color under all its forms rushing on ther display. You can't recognize anything, and after a few seconds of this screen and the x 300 - 14 p completely froze / crashed (hung - no reaction on anything except power plug pull or pressure on the button 5 seconds walk / stop ther).

I was scared because it looked like to me a serious problem of graphics (nvidia chip) card or display.

I was hoping it was because of the heat (even if I have a powerful block of cooling below the laptop and the heat shouldn't be a problem).

Next day (yesterday), I launched the game immediately after the start, and after a few seconds the same crash appeared again with the same strange video glitches (never seen anything strange like this before).

I immediately made the 5 second power button press reset. and then, when the first splash screen appears (the bios display indicator and the loading/splash screen), there was like 2-7 white stripes vertical (on black background) on the right side of the screen.
They would not move or go away.

I immediately turned off the laptop and it is off since then.

For me this looks really serious, as if each chip nvidia (Geforce 9800 GTX) is broken or the display.

    Someone knows something about it?
    Everyone knows about this problem?
    Who knows more?

I know, I can now connect an external monitor.
If there is no problem, this should mean that it is a x 300 display problem

If the problem also appears on the external monitor, the nvidia gpu chip. At least that would be my guess.

Anyone have an idea about it, what it might be and what I could do?

(I'm afraid to send him only the x 300 in to toshiba for fixing is not worth, because it's quite old)
(it was purchased new in June 2009). fixing, it is probably too expensive.

    Any ideas on HCet problem?
    I've never had before.
    Who can help?

    Thank you

    PS:
I was thinlking to buy the new qosmio X 870, but I just saw that there is no express card slot, I need for different expansion modules (like the tv and video equipment, more etc.pp cards e-sata).

Without an express card slot I would not buy any laptop computer, I need urgently this slot machine (it's like a pci-express slot card connection in a desktop pc).

For me the express card slot is vital.
Never saw so many bad books.

If io may need my x 300 for quite awhile,
But what I would do abpout this weird new chip/video display problem?

    Hello

I agree with you that it looks like a GPU problem.
This means that it is the worst case, because in most cases the motherboard needs to be replaced
Even if the GPU would be replaceable, this piece would be very expensive
However, you can get in touch with a local ASP from Toshiba and can ask how it is

    Good luck

  • Envy 15 t-j000 Quad (Intel HD 4600) video does not not in the graphics mode-small points on the screen

2 weeks ago, I started having graphic problems on my system. At that time, I was able to get to the login screen, and right after that I logged on, the screen started to Flash at a constant rate (approximately every second). To resolve this problem, I started in the Boot Menu (press ESC after plugging) and got the menu text. From there on, I could go to the beautiful little chart Menus Windows Startup Options. I used to do the restore of the system in July, and it seemed to work for a few weeks.

Now, when I start the laptop, it quickly goes to a screen full of dots everywhere and I don't see anything. I was able to get the basic statup listed text menu (info sys diags system,..., Starup menu). But when I tried to get menus based graphics, immediately when on screen with points, while I couldn't make the recovery or start options (like safe mode).

    Attaching screenshot.

The problem was resolved after a few calls to hp support.  Let me detail the issue and resolution to help anyone with similar issues.

In short, there was a problem with the memory DIMM.  I will detail the two calls to help you cope with the good help.  Or you can switch to dial number 2 to see how we diagnosed the problem of memory DIMMs and how to find the dimm (s).

Call the #1: when I first called hp support they felt it was that a hardware problem was not covered by the warentee.  They said it was know with a drop of water or something.  I assured them he was not and still once explained, I could get in text mode (command line, diags, information on the system) but nothing that showed charts and systems restores.   THE IMPORTANT THING HERE IS TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY KNOW WHAT ALL THE WORKS AND DOES NOT WORK.  THEY HAVE ALTHOUGH I NEVER HAD ANY VIDEO EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM ONCE.  I KNOW THEY ARE JUST READING A SCRIPT, SO BE PERSISTENT.

They passed me a material person that had run me some diagnostics on the system component (took a few hours and they called me back just at the moment where they said they would).   Nothing wrong was found, but they wanted me to try a full restore media, so the complete hard drive test.  Because my system has no cd/dvd drive, they me posted key bootable.  They express it sent and got it in 2 days.  Free of charge.  After getting the key files, I had the same problem.  It seems that the restoration program required more video memory than just the text of the basics of stuff.

Call the #2.  The person accompanied me thorogh essential process starts to make sure that I knew what I was doing, and of course, the video went wrong.  Then, she decided to launch a simple real diagnotics called the fast test (and not under the component test section).  Let me take a little more time to explain how to operate it.  That's what I did all this time to get the boot menu.

    -Start with the system off.

-Press the power button, then start immediately by pressing "esc".  This will bring up a menu of about 5 things.

-Choose the system diagnostics (you might have also hit F2 during but instead of esc)

-multiple options as system tests and component tests.  I think it was testing systems.

-In the following menu, they had a quick test.

It was a test of 10 minutes from all major components and it is made to find some errors and crashes on tests of memory and processor.   They had opened the bottom cover on my system (removed the battery to find a single screws of the cover and then pulled up on the screw tab until he put a few times and open) for me.  Under this coverage is the hard drive, memory dimm slots and the wireless module.  My system came with only one card of 8 GB memory in the lower slot.  I was installed and installed, so they had me remove and then put it in the top slot.   I put the batter7, he works and returned to the diags quck screen (by pressing ESC).  I went back to the quick test and now the system never finished and almost always hung.

He sent me a new DIMM memory, I installed it and everything started working like brand new.  Fortunately, the operating system was not corrupted by so many power-ups and had low power.  The only thing to complain to Norton, because I was not being updated or ran in a few weeks.

Also note: my system sharing memory with the video processor Intel shipped (even if my laptop has a nvidia gForce) sticker, so my guess is that once the system has changed graphis video mode it took more memory or he was hit a bad sector that she always used to memory at this time.  When it hit in the wrong place the video gone wrong.

Good luck to the level of similar problems.

  • Stuck at the screen of the POST - R500

I have a R500 that one of my users has me just. It is stuck on the screen of the POST (ThinkPad splash) and does not respond to any keys pressed. I tried holding down the blue button "ThinkVantage" while turning on and still no response.

I pulled the hard drive and plugged into another machine to be excluded as a possible problem. Which works very well. It seems that the system must be suspended during any of these POST I can't even access the start menu or the BIOS settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so that I can get this user online.

A quick search on Google and I've already found my solution. A broken USB port is to blame. Looks like it's a problem on early model R series machines. Here is a link to the post where I found my solution.
