How can I see what child e-mail accounts I have given permission for and are connected to my email?

Thank you!

Hi Kittylane,

Clarification, you want to see the list of child accounts you manage under parental control and their associated Windows Live ID? If this is the case, please do the following:

1. sign in to the Family Safety website with the ID of the mother to http://fss.live.com.

2. under the name of a member of the family who associated e-mail account you want to check, click on change settings. Search accounts for (name of family member). It will list the Windows Live ID associated with this account. Do this for the other members of the family. If the family member doesn't have a Windows Live ID, this means that there is only a Windows user account that is managed safely family.

Thank you

Ariel has.

I never see an option to add a child.  I have never the option to prove that I am an adult by entering a credit card.

I'm starting to think that buying a windows8 machine was a big mistake.

How can I create an identification of phase of windows for my children so that they can get all the features of windows8?

    Hi RayVojtash,

If you want to use the parental control to monitor computer and your child's online activity, it is normal that you will be notified by the system to install Windows Essentials, given that parental control is part of Windows Essentials.

Please install the Windows parental control client on the computer that is using your child. You can download the installer from the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Live/Essentials-home

Once you have correctly installed the client, sign up for a child account to http://signup.live.comand reconfigure the client and your child's account on this computer. You can check the link below for detailed steps:

Bind the child account for a Parent account

  • Child account verification problem

My accounts for children could not be verified and now I just get the error messages and walked to the family safety website.

On the Family Safety website just to get the message

"XXX: your child's Hotmail settings cannot be changed for the moment." We can send you a link to change the Hotmail settings or you can try again later. Error code = 16600. »

    Hi Carl,

Our support specialist notes that parental control is pre-installed as part of the control panel of Windows 8. Family safety no longer on installation of Windows Essentials on Windows 8. It is possible that there is something wrong with the installation on the computers in the child. To examine this, we ask that you provide us with screenshots showing the pages that follow below:

1 Summary family and your devices (just connect on https://familysafety.microsoft.com, here is the list of all members of the family safety on the upper part and the computers involved below).

2 settings for each child (click Edit settings under the name of child)

3 series of screenshots showing the steps on how you configure the parental controls in Windows 8. (Did the same steps on how to configure a child account via the link?)

Once you have ready screenshots, you can download them in the message that thread's private section.

  • Can I turn off the notification which shows my child account is to be monitored which opens when my child llogs in on his account?

I just activated the family security on my childs accounts. But when they connect, a window appears indicating that they are monitored, which at this stage, I don't want them to know. Can I turn off this box pop up somehow?

    Hi AmyJingst,

There is currently no option in Family Safety to remove this message of notification on behalf of your child whenever they connect to their computer. If you think that it would be a convenient to have option to have an option to disable this notification, you can send it to Microsoft as a feature request. You can fill out our feedback form using this link: https://feedback.live.com

  • Cannot add child account to the parental control

No matter how many times I add my child account to watch safely from the family, it does not work. The account appears in the list of monitored accounts and has the correct options I selected via the Family Safety however website when my child connects his account said "this account is not monitored by parental control.

I deleted the computer AND the child of the Family Safety options site. I uninstalled and reinstalled parental control over the child's laptop computer but the account is STILL without oversight and shows via the control panel in Windows 7.

When I log on the site of Family Safety on that account child watch the monitored account as 'white' "computername" when "in white" should be the account on the laptop.

I am a computer professional and cannot understand it. What other options do I have?

    ANSWER FOUND!

I found the answer on a long search of these forums...

I had this problem because the computer name was the same as the name of my child's account. I changed the name of the computer to another one of his account on the computer and I was able to successfully activate Parental controls through parental controls on the computer.

  • Microsoft Family safety began just prevent Chrome GMail and Google Reader works on a child account - anyone know why?

I am running Windows 7 and use parental control for several years.  My kids use Google Chrome with GMail and GoogleDrive for a lot of their homework.  In recent days on the child accounts Chrome slow down considerably with the message "establish a secure connection" when it starts for centuries, and then finally "Gmail App is not available".  After trying everything else (cookies, compensation, disabling extensions, historical disconnect account) I turned off parental control of Microsoft, and Chrome came back to life.  I've now changed the security settings to "block adult sites" to "warn on adult sites" and Chrome works very well.  I'm not happy to leave this setting to warn but need to at the moment, so that they can do their homework.  Is this a Microsoft problem or is there anything else I can try to solve it?

    Thank you

  • I have a problem with removing programs from the childs account.

Original title: how to remove programs from my childs account?  He said that you are not allowed (as it should), but does not other options.

I was cleaning my sons account and could not uninstall or remove most of the things.

Its been a problem since I bought this new computer.   Some programs such as Adobe Flash, Chrome, etc. installed on my account, but not on other accounts.       They must be installed on each user account if they choose to use ie: Chrome, Adobe, Java etc.
When Adobe Flash is installed for IE it is installed only on the user account that is not installed on the computer. So basically 3 accounts 3 downloads.
Makes no sense.   However, some programs install to all accounts.
When I uninstall a program from an admin account it does uninstall not other accounts 2 user.
Logging into his account, I can't remove or uninstall.   I don't really want to delete the entire account.
    How can I accomplish this?
    Thanks, Denise

Programs may vary in how they handle the installation and the removal of several accounts.
I suggest to uninstall those that are a problem, temporarily change the account of the child to the administrator, connect you and make uninstalling and then change it back.   Not an elegant solution, but it should work.

  • Family sharing - child accounts are adults

We have four adults Apple ID all related to the same family sharing.  I created the ID Apple before family sharing the existence when I created two accounts for my children so I did the adult accounts (if I remember correctly, when I tried specifying their actual birthdates he told me that the miners could not have Apple ID...).  In any case, this is the current configuration, the family shares with everyone as an adult ID.

    I have two specific questions.

    1. How can I force all purchases to devour the credit on my ID?  My account is the "Organizer" and I have a credit of $30 on my account, but the other day my son (who is an adult Apple ID) bought a game and he charge my credit card $1.06 instead of take it from my account credit (his account has no credit balance).  I guess it has something to do with the fact that his ID is an adult instead of the child...  No indication as to how I should proceed?

    2. the two children just got several gift cards so that they will be adding credit balances to their identity papers.  According to me, this means that whenever they purchase something it will use up to their credits before it charges my card.  Is this correct?  And if so, it brings back me to question 1, once they use their entire balance how can I force it to use my credit on my account before it charges my card?

    Thank you!

You are right #2.  If they have in-store credit, which will be used for purchases before going to the credit card of the Organizer.

There is no way to get their purchases to use your store credit.

  • accidentally changed child account administrator - lost documents and previously available iTunes songs

my child wanted to customize his office and attempted to "Create another user account" but accidentally changed the administrator account on the computer.  We have WindowsXP. now the old documents are not available for us, but I 'see' them when I do a search - we are not allowed to open.  I tried to cancel this mess, but were unsuccessful.

    Hi 123ultramom,

    1. is the administrator turned into limited user account?

    2. how many accounts do you have on the computer?

    3. What is the error message when you try to access files and folders?

You will be able to log in the default computer administrator account in Windows XP by starting your computer in safe mode and later change the type of account administrator computer.

  • Child account connection issues

Help, please! It's driving me crazy!  for months I tried to access my account of son microsoft to make some changes, but every time I try to connect its wonder like the p [aren't connect you and to allow him permission to use the account (which has been implemented for years a fine race) when I do login and click on Yes tp to activate the authorization I get error messages - the most recent being we don't have your] name, first name and date of birth - which they clearly do.   I am desperatley need to fix now that my son this morning cannot connect access xbox because of the same problem.  Christmas is coming, and he wants to play his games.  I have passed the House of counless cat online for microsoft themsleves and on the phone and starts getting really annoyed by the lack of suggestions successful.

Heres hoping someone out there has had the same problem and managed on the basis of the issue that I'm afraid that there will be no joy of microsoft.

    Thank you

    Father of desparate

Hello.   I think I might be on the way to solve the problem.  Finally spoke with someone at Microsoft who seemed to know what they were talking about.  Unfortunately, it has something to do with when the account has been set up - mine has been implemented a long time ago and they don't have a family account then.  They had access to the account and re bind it to mine, so unfortunately it looks like you have to do the same thing and talk to people and get them to worsen the technical department as they did with my problem.   Good luck to get the problem fixed before Christmas...
