  I run Acrobat Professional so that I can change/brand place/comment in the PDF files. At one point recently I noticed "Acrobat Reader DC" in the name of the file at the top of the page. I do not have ask this or do anything to get there that I was aware of this. I adjusted for the new look of the screen and edited several files without incident. But yesterday, I opened a large file which had been addressed to me in Dropbox. When I downloaded and opened it and tried to change it, the selection tool was not aligned properly, so the selected areas were elsewhere on the page, where the cursor was. I restarted my computer and was able to change the file more or less normally (I noticed more little glitches with this CD player but I can live with them). But when tried to save the file with a new file name, like I always do to differentiate files that changed since the original files, the save window is empty. There is no option to save the file with a new file name. In fact. There is no option to save the file with the changes! I thought maybe it was a problem with this file only, but when I tried to edit a file provided by regular e-mail, I met the same problem trying to save to a new file name. What is the relationship between my old Acrobat Professional and Acrobat Reader DC? Why can't save files normally? I managed to save the changes I did by saving it in the cloud to Adobe (I had to then because I could not send the file by e-mail because of its size - I tried to send it to me)., but I'd rather widely navigate in Windows Explorer to work with files. I suspect that there is some simple aspects about what I am simply absent or do not know. Can anyone help?

  I also use FIrefox 12.0 on an older windows 2000 machine and that works perfectly - I can download any MP3 file, I want to, and downloads of firefox 12.0 (on win2k, sp4) to my location (on my HD), and it gives me the download window so I can watch its progress and have some control over break and resume , and, when it's done, the download window offers me the option 'open containing folder' so I can make sure that where I wanted. In other words, Firefox 12.0 on WIn2k, sp4 works better than firefox on winxp sp2 25.0! What gives? I went through and set up my options for XP just like I did with Win2k and everything looks good, but firefox 25.0 don't know just my chosen and always default place to give me fortune player and I am not able to actually copy the mp3 files on my hard drive - it's firerox almost unusable 25.0 since downloading mp3 files is a big part of my use firexfox - please help.   First of all, please accept my apologies for the bad reading of your original question.

  Secondly, an answer is only a 'response' if it solves your problem, then you should 'untick' my first reply as an answer.

  I have reproduced (sort of) your problem. When I did what you say, as you did, opening folders would always open a search window. Initially, the only way I could find to solve this (undo that change the icon did not work) had to do a system restore...

  Interestingly, although the icon changing seems to have been implemented in 'Folder Options', there is no change corresponding to the icon used by Windows Explorer. Looks like it's a little "bug" in this area, but don't expect a fix from Microsoft before the end of life for XP in 2014.

  What makes it even more strange, in some cases, you can change it again to:

  and the behavior remains as it should.

  For admins: because a "weird plain' or a 'system' forum is missing: feel free to sort, where it belongs.

  Vista handles the media completely differently, and I hate it.  I want to deal with media files as normal files, so I can see, size, date, etc. All previous versions were very good.

  Here's how to change the default template for a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70819-windows-explorer-folder-view-settings.html.  Default behavior is to select the model based on the first type of file placed in the folder (you must choose something).  Vista sets the folder type template according to what are the types of files in the window and the settings display window Explorer.   However... I found a way to remove the file. The BACK DEL cmd line feature deletes the file. We have to be careful and make sure that absolutely nothing reference file. The first time I tried to delete the file that I had Windows Explorer open and the file was clicked and the first page was displayed in the preview window and the DEL command failed, noting that the file is open in another application.

  When I closed the window of the Explorer and retried the DEL command, it worked!
