  • Windows 7 screen resolution is not agree with me after I did a fresh install of Windows!

So after doing a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop two days ago, I have tried many unsuccessfully to try to resolve a problem of resolution resulting from the update. My resolution is automatically set to a resolution of 1024 x 768 very blurry and I cannot recover my original resolution. When I go to the next option and the last, on the resolution list, 1280 x 1024, the screen is completely distorted and stretched which is hard on the eyes and is certainly not the original resolution for my laptop before the update. It's like installing new Windows completely wiped out my original graphics drivers.

I also noticed with update that my graphics driver and the driver were set at "NVIDIA Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" which I am absolutely positive is not what I was using before, that I don't have a video card installed, even if I use not this laptop for games and is no longer for the school and other work. I'm 99% sure that I have a card NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 installed, that even though he is old, always worked well, but even in this case, I'm still not sure if it's the card I have, which could be the reason why I can't find the right drivers for it.

For reference (I'm running in Mode safe):

I tried to update this standard graphics driver, but he claims, there is no update. I run all my virus programs, I have all my updates installed Windows, and I used the boost driver to try to see if there is any other updates, but nothing has worked. I did a "sfc/scannow". I ran Microsoft FixIt, tried to look in the "list all Modes" under the control panel screen resolution and I currently can't 'uncheck' Modes 'hide' because it is all grayed out. Honestly, I think I have tried everything to solve this problem, but I think he came to where I think I need to ask someone who can find the exact video card I have in my computer so I can possible find the driver for it, and maybe that would solve the problem.

For reference, I also have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P25-S507. Running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. If any other type of information is necessary, I can give him, let me know how to get around to provide for you. I will continue to try to see what I can do but for the moment, help! D:

You do not use / install "driver booster" or other programs of type 'FixMyPC '.

You need to visit your computer makers portable, specific to your model support site and install all the available drivers (Chipset/graphics/lan, etc.)

Hi, I have an Inspiron M5030, in the resolution of the screen laptop PC screen is the only option available, however, in maps graphic (in Device Manager) seems ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250, so I want to change the resolution of the screen at this last one, i had reason to believe someone installs the program monitor Mobile PC without my consent , so I'll appreciate all the help.

    Hi Abel_Valdivia,

I wish to inform you that, in accordance with the resolution of the screen, it will reflect the name of the screen connected to the system. As you use a display on LCD screen, it will show Mbilé PC display and if you connect an external monitor, it should give you the name of the monitor.

    Hey,.

Hmm for me the specs looks very clear and type 1 and 3 has 1920 x 1080 resolution screen which is FHD (FullHD) and type 2A HD screen + with a screen resolution of 1680 x 945.

I guess that you have found this information on the official website of Toshiba? If Yes, the specification is correct.

Type 1 and 3 have the highest screen resolution and I would take one of these laptops because you can look in the resolution FHD. :)

  • Laptop Toshiba with Windows 7 Home Prem OA: damaged HDD / Act. key / No boot DVD

    Hello world

My Toshiba laptop (Satellite P855-S5200) broke down and Im forced to replace my hard drive. As this laptop came with a preinstalled window, I don't have any starting device to activate my Window 7 Home Premium 64-bit again.

The sticker on the back of my laptop said: Window 7 Home Prem OA.

    (1) what it means? What is the difference between mine and a regular version of window 7 Home Premium?

I researched and found "X 17-58997 ISO» (2) it work to activate my Window 7 Home Prem OA? My laptop says 'X 16-96072' (3) I want to say I find that version to work for my laptop? If Yes, where can I find it?

If I want to switch to Window 7 Professional How can I do? Can I just buy a Window 7 Professional Windows and install it?

    Please help! Greatly appreciated!

If Santanu suggestion is not viable because your PC is no longer under warranty then try the following (and Yes you touch will activate Windows that you install Windows 7 Home Premium).

    (1) download the Windows 7 proper. ISO file that includes Service Pack 1
(Note: must match for your product key version)

How do I know if I have a version of 32 or 64 Bit of Windows installed on my computer:

    SHA1 hash: 6C9058389C1E2E5122B7C933275F963EDF1C07B9

    (2) after downloading the correct .iso file install HashCalc and validate the SHA1 hash value
is correct. If the download is not corrupted, the value HashCalc returns will be the value of SHA1 I posted.
    HashCalc: http://www.slavasoft.com/hashcalc/index.htm

    (3) then use ImgBurn or ISO gear to burn a bootable DVD.

Note: Always use high quality DVD + R media and slower burning (4 x or 6 x) speed is offered a choice.

    ====================== Keyless Install ================================

How to make a 'Keyless Install"of Windows:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD disc, you create and launch the installation.

After you have entered the user name and password that you will be asked:
"Type your Windows product key", do not enter a key.
Also located just below the box where you enter the key is a box with a check mark
to "Automatically activate Windows when I'm online", remove the check box and click "next".

You now have a 30-day grace period to activate Windows.

During the grace period, you can install your device drivers,
run Windows updates and solve other problems or issues.
Once you are satisfied everything is working properly, and then activate Windows.

  • Choice of resolution Dell E630

I've updated from an E6520 to an E6530, and I do not see the choice of the resolution of the screen that I used to have on the E6520. I used to have very granular choices and was was the best for my needs was 1440 x 900 (rather than the full resolution of 1920 x 1080. On the E6530, the choices are very limited to this list:

    1920 x 1080
    1280 x 1024
    1024 x 800
    800 x 600

This does not match my needs (site of the eye). I can not change the size of the text because it messes up some websites, I create diagrams, presentations etc, they do not properly display the standard text appears.

I downloaded the latest drivers NVIDIA and Intel with no luck.

Any suggestions (other than the return of the E6530?)

I discovered that you can enter the screen resolutions customized by using the Advanced Mode in the Graphics Options (Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel). I was able to enter at 1440 x 900 and will define the major resolutions to take full with this new view.

  • Qosmio F10-121, while the splash screen gets scratched with big purple bands

    Hello!

Suddenly, I had a problem with my Qosmio. Maybe someone could help me.
When I turn on my computer, the Qosmio logo appears (its ok) and then the Windows logo. But that's the problem, my screen becomes striped with big purple bands. I can't do anything, it's completely unreadable... Windows cannot be loaded, the Qosmio PIF and restart.

When I plug in an external display, it's the same thing.
I tried to use the restore DVD, but for the moment, it doesn't change anything.
    I see 2 problems:
-A video card problem (but Qosmio logo appears, and the restore DVD menus are normal
-A big failure of HARD drive (when I plug the SD of the internal Qosmio on my other computer, it is very, very slow, and suddenly, HDD disappears)
So, if you have any advice...

Thanks a lot for your answers and do not look at the faults.

I bought my laptop 5 years ago and after a week, the motherboard has been replaced. But since then, it works like a dream. Never had any problems.

I have a Toshiba L30 101 and the screen is cracked.
I have the opportunity to buy not working Toshiba M40 - 221, which has a display of work.

The screen will work and work well.
Both models are in the range of satellite and both use the screen 15.4 inches and made the same applay to the keypad/keyboard

    Thanks for your time

    Hello

I can't say for sure, but if two laptop computers supports the same screen size then you have a good chance to get the screen M40 working with L30 Series notebook.
But if you want to be 100% sure, then I'd take a screen which has been published for the L30 series.

  • Just as a reference: how to FIX the annoying 'White Screen Of Death"with Silverlight and"Access denied"error with computer management.

Well, I just hope that someone who has met these two mistakes will find my dose. It might save a lot of pointless research on the net.

    SYMPTOMS:
-When you try to open a Silverlight application in your browser (Firefox, Chrome, IE, etc), your browser displays only a white area. When you right click on the white area, you can click on the Silverlight properties.
-If you try to start "Computer management" by clicking on the 'My Computer' icon and select 'Manage', you get the following error: 'access denied '.

    CAUSE:
The following errors are usually the result of a bad environment variable. In this case the "windir" environment variable does not work correctly. You can try running the management of the computer to start > run and entering:
    %windir%\system32\mmc.exe/s %windir%\system32\compmgmt.msc

Notice the between the characters of percentage windir environment variable. If you run the above code, you will probably get an error saying that MMC cannot open the file. Look closely at the path, it's back!
You will probably find any % somewhere.

What actually happened here is the variable windir made reference to another variable: systemroot
Why this creates problems, I'm not sure. Also, I don't understand what made then variable windir change.

    SOLUTION:
-From your desktop or Explorer: right-click on "My computer" and select "Properties".
-Click on the "Advanced" tab and then click "Environment Variables".

    http://pcauthorities.com/images/advanced-system-properties-XP.jpg

-Did the windir variable. Together to "C:\Windows" do not think that it is already set to "C:\Windows", because windows then tells you. Double-click it to know for sure.

    http://www.adminxp.com/windowsvista/envvariabl.PNG

-See, I told you! Change this to "C:\Windows".

    Dear klh76

You need a USB FLASH DRIVE, you can transfer the files from the Recovery Console Windows Vista from any other pc or laptop running Windows Vista, go to the backup and restore on the other computer and click on create a drive recovery system on the file menu. Once done, insert the usb key into the laptop, you want to fix, start by using selected peripheral USB device as MBR, follow these steps on screen, you can repair a corrupt Windows Vista it or restore to a previous restore point.

After saving my laptop husbands with my new 2 TB external hard drive, I tried saving my laptop.

I finally got my screen turns on but I saw nothing else than a blue screen.

    Thank you

Hey, I'm sorry for the delay. Make sure you have backups of the data before making experiences.
It depends really what features chose you for backup. Usually software backup verify the current files and update, but they also can completely replace the existing or create a new backup.
The antivirus program should not be a problem during a backup operation.
