Cisco RV range

Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to change the default settings for the Cisco RV series.

So when you reset the router, the default settings you want the router to have will come back.

I know that there is an option to write the backup configuration to the startup configuration. Which is very nice.

But we would like that to happen when you press the reset button.

Kind regards

Tom

No, this isn't an option. default settings are "factory".

  • IP E1200 as access point ranges

I have a Cisco 880 (provided by my company and as such, I have little access to the control panel). I have a Linksys E1200 (Cisco) to use as an access point. Installation of Cisco (love it!), but the simple configuration gives the E1200 a range of ip addresses from 192.168.1.1 while Cisco 880 range is 192.168.185.113. I need to have connections in the same rage of ip (192.168.185.xxx) for remote monitoring. What is the best way to achieve this? Bridge mode (I have no need to Mode of reviews I've read is not possible in bridged mode)? Disable DHCP on the E1200? I've been roaming forums, but there's still a few confuson. Guidance gratefully received.

    Hello

You have two configuration options for the desired configuration. You can make the LAN to LAN (cascading) configuration or in Bridge Mode. Well the 2 types of installation are the same. The only difference is that you must manually configure all on LAN to LAN setup.  It includes turning off DHCP and manually configure an IP address for the E1200 (which will be the secondary router). Configure the router bridge Mode automatically disables router functions and sets the router as a simple switch/access point.

For me, I will configure using the method of the Bridge Mode. It's going to be much easier that way. Please click on the following links learn more about the waterfall and Bridge Mode:

    Fred:

It has been a week very, very long time.  I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I found the problem after about five hours of intense troubleshooting.  You see, our commerical DSL provenance of a Netopia DSL router.  We used a 300g asus Cook on us and I replaced it with what seem to me more reliable... cisco/linksys range.  I removed the PoE injector, which previously was feeding the Asus wap and went on the installation and configuration the WAP54g.  It's the embarrassing part, I inadvertently plugged the WAP cat5... the Netopia, rather than the Dlink.  When I saw this... I swapped, and the network immediately responded.  Razor Akams... the simplest of all solutions is most likely.

Will show... Always check the simplest configurations before moving into the complex.

    Hi hiren,.

    See the answers below:

#Router inside the IP - 172.16.29.1 (inside property intellectual as it is very critical that cannot be changed)

When you upgrade the PIX router inbetween and your switch, you must put the PIX inside IP like 172.16.29.1 and change the router within the subnet to someother pool. Do the PAT on the PIX, rather than the router.

    Outdoor #Router ip - what ip should I use? (I tried with 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0)

Router outside the property intellectual property will be that given by the ISP... The ISP would have given a public IP address for the WAN link. This cannot be changed.

#PIX outside intellectual property - what ip should I use? (My ISP IP?-j' tried with 208.144.230.197 which is currently outside of my router)

PIX outside IP must be comprehensive. ISP would have given you a LAN subnet. Use it. In this case, inside the interface of the router has an IP address from that subnet even...

#PIX within the intellectual property - what ip should I use? (I tried with 1.1.1.2 255.255.255.0)

PIX inside must be 172.16.29.1, which will be the default gateway for all PCs. If you change this subnet, then the PC should have an IP address on the same subnet that has decided.

Connection ISP #My is directly from the ISP GW to an ethernet cat 5 on my router VLAN

didn't get it... is that on the internet router or switch?

#I would allow www, FTP, web-based like Yahoomail... etc... & Messenger services

If all these must be permitted from inside to outside, you have not open anything... by default, all traffic to the inside outside is allowed (except if you put a list of access denied)...

  • IP over different WAN, source routing ip range? [cisco 891]

    Hi all!

Here I am again asking for help! :)

Here's the goal: I want a set of computers to use a WAN and another using the other WAN based on the IP address range.

I use a router cisco 891. Fastethernet0 is a WAN, GigabitEthernet8 is the other WAN and gigabitethernet 0 to 7 are 8 switch of the router ports.

From now on, I have my two internet access works very well, each of them is connected to a WAN port on my router. I have no problem have all my computers using a WAN or the other, or even load balancing between them, but what I want is to fix some computers with internet access and the other computer to use other internet access.

I don't know how to do this, I looked in the delivery by source IP address, but I don't really know how to do. I saw something on the basis of routing policy, but I can only apply these policies on incoming packets that I seem not to be able to apply these policies to one of the switch port of the router. I would need to use the WAN port to connect my incoming LAN in, but then I would not be enough WAN port for both of my internet connections.

    Internet gateway #1 is 172.26.2.254

    #2 connection gateway is 192.168.1.254

    Here is my current config:
I understand why I have bad connection whith this config since it is load balancing between the road two default and send only one of my two wan according to the INVESTIGATION period, but I don't know what to do to say precilesy Beach, the beach of IP #2 and IP #1 to go go here.

  • Bad range CISCO aironet 1310 built-in antenna

    Hello

    I'm at the Canada

I am trying to configure an AIRONET 1310 with INTEGRATED antenna

to work as a point of access for customers on a campsite

The range I get is ugly (50 feet off the signal completely)

the aironet overflows and no trees are block it.

I have it configured by default except:

-in the network interfaces: Radio0-802. 11 g setting

-I changed default value of best range DATA FLOWS

    Hello

Model 1300 integrated antenna comes with an antenna gain 13dBi vertically polarized. The width of the beam is 36 ° E-plane by 38 ° H-plane.

    Here is the range-

    Americas

    • 865 feet (260 m) at 54 Mbps

    • 3465 feet (1055 m) at 11 Mbps

    ETSI

    • 150 feet (45 meters) to 54 Mbps

    • 775 feet (235 m) at 11 Mbps

    TELEC

    • 485 feet (145 meters) at 54 Mbps

    • 1095 feet (330 m) at 11 Mbps

If the range of what you get is far too low.

Please check the orientation of the AP, the antenna is polarized vertically.

If the AP must be mounted vertically.

Second, make a note to the beam width 36 ° E-plan by 38 ° H-plane. Make sure that all your clients are only in this coverage area. If its an open area and that you probably want coverage for global client area I wouldn't go to this access point is a sector antenna is not coverage in all 360 ° H-plan.

  • Computer connection on another printer on cisco valet router

I have a router (R1) provided by Verizon that connects me to the internet. Also connected to this router (R1) is a computer (PC1) and also my Cisco Valet (R2), which gives me connections wireless. Connected to the M20 Highway Cisco is a wireless (PC2) laptop and a printer wireless HP (PR1). Even if the Cisco M20 (R2) is connected to the internal network from Verizon (R1), PC (PC2) and printer (PR1) are on the internal network of Cisco (R2). I want (PC1) to be able to view and print to printer (PR1), but (PC1) on the router (R1) does not see printer (PR1). Laptop computer (PC2) also on Cisco (R2) can see and print it on the printer (PR1) very well, so wireless is not the issue. The issue is that PC1 must pass through and see PR1.

    PC1 <-->R1 R2 <--> <-->PR1

If anyone can help with the configuration of the router. Thank you.

What is the IP address of the main router and router M20?

Ensure that both routers are in the same IP range.

R1 is connected to the internet port M20?

You connect 2 routers to each other. Use M20 as a wireless access point.

Consider that the IP address of the main router is 192.168.1.1.

Then change the local IP address of the M20 to 192.168.1.2. Disable the DHCP server on the M20.

Connect the cable to the R1 to the port Ethernet 1 M20. In this way all devices will be in the same IP range.

I'm looking for a wireless router at a range of at least 50 yards.  I am trying to access an outdoor area where there are no power outlets to connect an Extender.  I wonder if anyone knows a way to do this.  I am currently using a router from cisco e2500.

    ASUS RT-N66U

  • E1500 as range Extenders?

    I recently upgraded from E1500 to EA4500.

Can I use my E1500 as a range extender wireless for the EA4500?

I would like to configure my E1500 in my bedroom back to repeat the signal from the EA4500 in my living room.

Is it possible wireless connect an ethernet cable between the two routers?

It can probably be done with third-party firmware such as DD - WRT.  On a Repeater is usually one last type of station thing it will degrade your wireless capabilities.

Your best bet is to run cat5e to your bedroom.  If this is not possible, try to use one of them:

  • Cisco e1000 only route when NAT disabled

I have a cisco e1000 itinerary. I already implemented a wireless network with success with cisco connect software. However, when I logged in the Web config, I disabled the NAT with routing table remains unchanged. the problem is that anyone of the network which links Internet WAN port can ping and receive the response of PCs within the wireless network, but it is impossible to reverse and all traffic inside e1000 can be passed through. Can someone explain this to me?

with NAT disabled, the E1000 actually forward packets from 192.168.0.*/24 to 192.168.1.*/24 and vice versa. However, this range is effective between these 2 networks only. If a PC inside 192.168.0.*/24 send a packet to the internet, the package will pass by E1000 without changing source IP(addressed 192.168.0.*) with the address of the E1000 Wan port. Arriving at the modem, the packet can be ignored, because the modem would NAT to only local source address (192.168.1. *) or even if the package were put to rout, he would have no chance to be routed by the backbone routers.

In addition, to be routed to 192.168.1.*/24 to 192.168.0.*/24, inside the 192.168.1.*/24 PC is configured by default with gateway 192.168.1.1 but the modem to a static route:

dest: 192.168.0.0 mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.W interface: Lan (W is the port of E1000 WAN address)

and you can connect with 192.168.0.*/24 successfully.

to summarize, I think that disable NAT would win few benefits for your internet access. As my job now requires two network so I want the E1000 to operate as a regular IP for ease router. Once again thanks for your help

  • Newbie needing advice on the purchase of equipment to expand the range of WAG160N wireless

    Hello

I'm new to the Board and I would like to ask a question in 'newbie '.

What product to buy to extend the reach of my WAG160N wireless router?  Am I limited to Cisco products or bridge/Repeater of another manufacturer would work?

I the main connection in a garage renovated (at the forward end of the House) at the bottom and unfortunately the signal falls severely on the floor and the back of the House there are some walls of concrete between the two.  The intensity of the signal in the children and the main rooms are not reliable and therefore acts of procedure of the family to "do something, Dad!"

I have the possibility of a connection to local network of WAG160N, through the wall of a Repeater.  If so, what would be the most logical and hassle-free purchase (Cisco or otherwise)?

Any advice would be gladly entertained as I want to do my research before hitting the stores.

You can go for WAP4410N is the device that can communicate with the wireless router and can help you get the best range of wireless network.

  • E2500 Cisco's router dual-band

    Hello

I just install the Cisco E2500 router and set up my wireless network.

I bought the router hoping it would give me a more powerful than my old G Linksys 2.4 Ghz signal.

Using inSSider I see my router and unfortunately it seems that both the 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz range are both at the same time. I need help. The strength of the signal under RSSI is - 60 to-57 for the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz range.

I have to turn off one of these groups or what should I do to get a stronger signal?... my old Linksys router was to-50.

Help... I'm not at all intuitive on routers, but I think that I would have only one band at a time or someother setting needs to be changed in order to improve my signal strength.

Where we cut a band anyway?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Tom.

    Hi GV Expert,.

Thanks for your explanation as to what is measured and its relevance.

I would like to run the test that describe you.

First; When you say to connect my computer to a single band, I say - would allow a band to achieve this result?

In addition, how do you transfer a file, we are talking about transfer between my two computers?

Thank you for your patience and your help.

    Tom.

  • Cisco RV042 cannot create a simple VPN?

    Hello

I'm confused because I'm trying to set up a simple VPN (client of the bridge), but I can't!

A SSL VPN or an IPSEC VPN, whatever...

The RV042 firmware is up-to-date, and I try QuickVPN as a customer vpn (also updated...)

    My configuration details:

    I'm at the: 192.168.2.14/24

    My RV042: 192.168.2.250/24

And the VPN intend to connect to: 192.168.4.x

I am currently in testing... that's why I use private IP...

    Customer gateway
    Add a new VPN group

    Tunnel ofgroup VPN
    Group No. 1
Name of the tunnel: VPN TEST
    Interface: WAN1WAN2
    Activate:

Type of local security group: Range IPSubnetIP
    IP address: 192.168.4.0

    Remote Client installation

Remote client: Domain Name (FQDN) Email address (USER FQDN) Client Microsoft VPN XP/2000

    so far, nothing fancy... Ok?

So I create my username for the test:

    VPN Client Access
    User name:
    New password:
    Confirm the new password:
Allow the change of password: YesNo.
    Active:
    DTSInfo-online Active

The user is created and activated...

For the test, I have disabled the firewall (router + windows 7).

A dnow, when I lunch the QuickVPN client:

    Then, when I have lunch:

    > Connection...

    > Activation of policy...

    > Verification of network...

    > The remote gateway is not responding. You don't want to wait? [NO]

    > Disconecting from the server...

This means that, after activation of the policy, I am connected on the router (user status: active). But when he check network... I am offline!

There is the newspaper of the RV042:

dec 18 12:57:50 2012 The VPN log description of the additional connection (qknips1)

If I'm signed for 7 seconds... Why?

    Can someone help me?

When I try with the built-in Windows VPN client, newspapers are filled just more... ^ ^

    Help! hour

Thanks (and sorry for my bad English ^ ^)

    Hello

    Please use our forum

Hi Skip my name is Johnnatan and I'm part of the community of support to small businesses. I ve seen your post and I see you are using Windows 7 and that you disable your firewall to test your connection. A configuration of the computer and the router must be in order to solve your problem.

    Computer

As you use Windows 7, you must enable the Windows Firewall and create 2 rules, also make sure that Ipsec communication is allowed, you can follow these steps:

    http://www6.nohold.NET/CiscoSB/Loginr.aspx?login=1&PID=2&app=search&VW=1&articleid=2922

    Router:

Go firewall > basic settings and

    Disable: Block WAN request

    Enable: Remote Management

Go to VPN > VPN Passthrough and make sure everything is activate.

I hope that you will find this answer useful, if it was satisfactory to you, please indicate the question as answer. Please note post you consider useful.
