Claim "suggestion" to replace the ProBook 6540 b

Hi, I'm in a sea of confusion and perplexity bought by my insurance company

I recently had an accident with my laptop and having been informed my probook 6540 is irreplaceable - no problem, just replace it? Is no longer available - but we will give you a Pavillion... .eeerrr not.

So some suggestions later, we are now at a ProBook s 4540 (at least it's a Pro book) but HP say that the 6570b is a direct replacement for my old 6540 - insurance company gave me to know if I can give good reasons why... I'm stuck with the 4540 s.

I have now tried to compare the specs - with no idea frankly I want to- and if I come to you for help!

I myself fought after the first offer, but must say that the "as long as the specification is the same, we do not as for as" I tried to explain that while both cars have an engine and about the same function - you wouldn't accept a Skoda on a Bentley... * sigh *.

If someone could help - I'd really like to make what I'm slowly losing the will to live

It is certainly not fair

I'm off to do some serious scanning-wish me good luck!

Thank you Paul!

    Hello:

Chapter 3 of the service manual indicates that you can go to a 500 GB 7 200 RPN SATA II HDD.

I recommend these to this provider if you live in the United States.

  • Replaces the Probook 4520 s HARD drive. Reinstalling Windows 7?

The hard drive failed on my Probook 4520 s after only 18 months. A Windows disc came with the computer? If this is not the case, how to reinstall Windows when a HARD drive fails? (I know not how to buy and install Windows, I'm more interested in how it is retrieved when it is stored on the failed rather than the removable media drive).

The reason why I don't know if a disc that came with the computer is that we recently moved to a new State, and the disk can be in one of the boxes, still unopened.

    Thank you

    Patrick Mc.

    Good,

    This may solve your problem.

If you have the product key for the version of windows 7 that was on your computer, you can go to: http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-windows-7-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-links/

in which, in, you can download the appropriate windows 7 ISO (don't forget the version is the same as that which was previously installed on your computer). Burn the ISO to a disk and then install it from the disc & activate with your product key.

    I hope this helps!

  • Replaced the cable. Now, the screen does not work. What could be?

The cable coming out of the back of my monitor Apple Thunderbolt Display is fraying. I decided that rather than risk a short at a certain point, I preemptively replace the cable. On iFixit teardown photos, I decided to replace the cable coming out of the back of the screen myself instead of paying almost $200 to get an Apple service provider to do that here in Bangkok. Bought the cable on AliExpress for $12. It replaced. And... no dice. Screen has not come.

    My setup

    [MacBook Air]-[Thunderbolt Display]-[drive Thunderbolt]-[Cinema Display]

with a key USB drive and Ethernet connected to the back of the Thunderbolt display

    Already tried this

    • First impressions were that the cable was defective. But then I noticed Ethernet came the USB has been mounted, Thunderbolt was mounted drive and after a reboot, the movie screen come also. Obviously, the cable has been working very well.
    • Second thought was that I'd neglected to plug some cables that connect the LCD to the main logic board. I checked. Seemed fine.
    • Third was maybe the serial number of the cable was somehow connected to the main logic board. So I put the old cable. Still no screen.
    • Tried to connect the screen with a Thunderbolt external cable, everything worked as well but still no image on the screen.
    • Tried more than 30 seconds and 3 hours disconnected as a "reset" of the screen. No change.
    • Restarted my laptop. No change.
    • Thunderbolt Display well plugged the drive and then into the MacBook, so change the sequence of the devices. No change.
    • Information reports under "Thunderbolt" the entire chain of devices, but under "Graphics/displays" system displays only the internal screen and Cinema Display.
    • Using the newly purchased cable as a Thunderbolt external cable works fine too.

    Question

Does anyone have suggestions on what to try next?

The logic card goes into a sort of locked mode when you replace the cable?

Is there more than 3 flat cables connection + connection to the land between the Panel and main Board?

Although there is no reason to think that this has been, how to test LCD screen still work given all these flat cable connectors?

Note: There is no Apple here store. Apple authorized service providers are without help. He suggested to replace the cable and the Panel at a cost that is almost the same as the purchase of a new screen.

Some of the cables that connect the LCD to the main logic board, are very short. Careful lifting the LCD, because it will go away with strength cables once that raise you it more than 2 to 3 inches on the side of the camera module.

The shorter cable of all is the LVDS cable. A short cable with gold plated connector. Although I have had reconnected the cable on the side of the logic board, I had wrongly assumed that the other end of the cable was stayed connected because all the band used on. Someone with experience of fixing these things said of his town for this cable to unravel by force and to be sure to check both ends of the cable. When I peeled back the tape, I found that he had indeed been disconnected. Reconnect, fiddling with the tiny workspace to get the logical side of Board of Directors of what properly fixed cable again and we were back in business.

Apple authorized service providers here in Bangkok have quoted me $200 to replace the cable. I ordered the replacement cable Thunderbolt Display off AliExpress for $12.50. It was really simple to replace the cable, just to keep an eye on this darn LVDS cable opening to the top of the screen!

  • ProBook 6440 b: replace the HARD drive with SSHD on HP Probook 6440 b

    Hello
I am trying to replace the drive HARD original (Seagate Momentus 320 GB at 7200 RPM) with new SSHD (SSHD Sagate 500 GB;) REF: ST500LM0000). I've updated the BIOS without any problem for the F.60 Rev.A version (November 30, 2015). The operating system, I try to install from the DVD is Windows 10.

Problem is that the installation process of Windows this new disc see. At the step where you set up new partitions, the disk is not visible.

The installation process of Windows is an option to load drivers for the drive. It may be enough to have a driver. But I don't know which driver to use.

Could you please tell me how to correctly install a new drive? BIOS is somehow locked on the original disk? Or in what could be the problem?

I thank very you much for your time. I'm sorry for my bad English.

    Lukas

In the BIOS, try to assign device SATA AHCI Mode.

It's under Advanced > device configurations

I tried to replace the frequency by another control in the example found here complete PWM:

However, I get the following error message:

My wiring diagram looks like this:

If I cancel my change (i.e. I have remove the frequency control knob and turn it over to the control of the example, it works perfectly.) I get the waveform is displayed in the oscilloscope.

My goal is to simply use a frequency and duty cycle control knob. How can I achieve this?

There are two things to do.

What I think you did now changes the scale of the handle.

You will also need to change the values that are allowed to enter. You will do on the data entry tab in the dialog button properti.

Uncheck the 'use default', the Minimum value limits and Maximum identical to your balance.

Value "Response to value out of range" Coerce to both Minimum and Maximum.

    I hope this helps.
Let me know if you have more problems.

  • Mail and sharing of WIndows 8 has stopped working when I changed my Yahoo password. Can't remove and replace the account information from Yahoo either. Any suggestions?

I was doing very well with Windows 8 and really liked the tile part until the part of so many mail no longer works when I changed my Yahoo password (after having hacked). Given that the Yahoo account has been used to set up my Microsoft Account for the new computer laptop / Windows 8, this old password appears to be caught in the trap in the system. I can still use the browser to get to Yahoo use e-mail like this, but it is frustrating that the Mail tile is now useless and hand tile is too.

    Hello Rob,

The Microsoft Account and Yahoo accounts are two separate accounts. Then the two accounts use the same login ID (your Yahoo email address) and can be configured with the same password; When you change the password for one of the accounts that will not change your password for the account on the other.

If the two accounts used the same password, I suggest to change the password for your Microsoft account and using a separate password for each.

Once the Microsoft Account password has been changed, you should be able to connect to the mail. You may still need to update your email Yahoo mail password of: charms-> settings-> accounts-> .

  • HPE - 590t: Suggestions for replacement CPU Cooler & case fan

    Hi all

I would like to replace the fan in my HPE - 590 t. Recently, he made loud noises and yesterday it sounded like a car was at my house with the idling of the maximum RPM.

I know that some have recommended the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO in previous threads, however I have some concerns regarding this cooler would fit in my case, as it seems that I have about 1.5 inches of space to the left of the cooler and about 1' of headroom above the stock cooler.

Here are the specs for my motherboard.

I have a case of average size, I would be grateful any recommendation for the appropriate CPU cooler.

Ideally, I'd like something that could last another two years and be as quiet as possible.

HP DV9310 Windows 7 Professional 4 GB RAM

    DV7t-6100 Windows 7 Pro 8 GB RAM

    Ruette,

I wanted to let you know that you were right about the question of the back plate on the motherboard. I decided to order the aftermarket cooler that I mentioned, and when I went to install it, it appeared to be welded directly on the motherboard. I was puzzled because I've never seen such a design.

Because I could not remove the back plate, I couldn't install the new heatsink.

Being faced with the choice of either ordering a heat sink used as you have suggested to the origin or the HP part since the website claiming to sell the stock heatsink heat, I decided to remove my HP Elite system and build a custom system.

I built a new system with a motherboard MSI Gaming 5 and 4790 k i7 processor and used the ram, power supply, SSD, GTX 750 ti and other components in my system HP Elite for my new build. All these elements I just mentioned were anyway under a year of age. Of course, I had to spend money on a Windows 7 operating system at retail, but also a new case, but overall it was worth the money. I also think that in the end I started to the cultivate my HP and it was just time for me to upgrade. Now, that I'll stay with custom desktops built and stay away with OEM computers due to the unusual limitations that the OEM wants to place on their systems.

Thanks again for all your help!

  • ProBook 6540 b: webcam HP Probook 6540 b WinX software/driver

I have a laptop HP Probook 6540 b. When I bought it, it had installed Windows 7. Last fall, I decided to upgrade verification and the hp site I used told me that my laptop was ready to be updated for Windows 10. So I did. Before that process, I backed up all the data, just in case. Seemed to be an unnecessary action. After the upgrade, everything worked fine. Until I needed my webcam. I couldn't since October last to find a WindowsX driver to get my work onboard webcam. HP offers only the drivers for Windows 7, Vista and XP, which are not my OS. Someone has any idea how to fix this problem? Or should I just go to €25 and buy a compatible webcam WindowsX? Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the universal W10 webcam driver laptop 6570b of newer model.

This package contains a driver for the HP Universal camera to support webcams integrated notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

  • Can I replace the MK2546GSX HDD with MK2576GSX

    Hello

I have a laptop, Sony Vaio VGN-CR36G/B, which has the MK2546GSX from Toshiba HARD drive and chkdsk reports bad sectors in it. I would replace this hard drive, but I couldn't exactly find the product in the market to buy.

Please can someone help me to find a replacement for Toshiba MK2546GSX?

    My questions are

Can I replace Toshiba MK2546GSX with Toshiba MK2576GSX? Are they the same? Is there a difference in its connections or Sockets?

    or

Can you suggest a replacement for Toshiba MK2546GSX?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

    J

First of all, you can use all the HDD from different manufacturers that are compatible with your laptop.

    The HARD drive TOSHIBA MK2546GSX seems to bear 250GB - 5400U/min and 7-pin S - ATA (SATA 150 MB/s)

This means that your laptop supports the SATA controller and you should be able to also use the other SATA 2.5 SATA drives!

  • Want to 800-060: reactivation after replacing the motherboard

I bought a HP Envy 800-060 with Windows 8 pre - install Amazon in July of 2013. It was an incredible computer since that time, and when the free update of Windows 8 for Windows 10, I did immediately released. Recently, however, the motherboard has failed on the computer. It would not stay same POSITION, and after much troubleshooting, I finally decided to replace the motherboard. Now that the computer is running again, I guess that the motherboard change was sufficient for the operating system to think that it is no longer enabled. I was never provided with a key of Activation of OS (Win8 has been pre-installed), and Microsoft has suggested that I contact HP to find the original key. I've looked everywhere on the chassis and inside the tower for a valid Windows activation key, nothing helps. I tried to find a phone number to call for support, but my product is outside the guarantee. I don't need advice or troubleshooting tips (so I don't pay the $59.99), all I need is my activation key valid Windows based on my serial number of the product. Anyone know the best way to achieve HP with this problem and have it is resolved?

    Thanks in advance!

The unfortunate, is that your original product key has been incorporated in the firmware original by HP motherboard UEFI when the PC was built. There is no way to recover this key now.

HP retains no record of keys to individualized product corresponding to individual computers, so they won't be able to provide you with the original key - and they are under no obligation to provide you with a SECOND key, that you didn't do the replacement of HP hardware.

With the product now being out of warranty, it's really call HP or not you upload support - and the experience I have had with older equipment-, they do that, there's just no way around IDs.

HP customer support is really the only way you have to get support. If they don't help you for free, because your PC is out of warranty, there is nothing we can do about it on this forum.

I'm upgrading my pc, I plug a new PSU and video card.

After successfully, I replaced and installed, I booted up my PC, but it showed that none of the networks or wifi connections are available.

I read that maybe it's something to do with the antenni?, I noticed something that looked like antenni tangeled upward in the power supply cables, I did not use them. but I have no idea what could be the problem.

Thank you for the information, @henry321.

Yes, I suggest to leave the side panel on the computer and then move the led in the case and look at the signal. You may need to route through an opening in the case is outside of the case. I think I read that it is the best way to get a good signal.

  • Recovery of Satellite A215 after replacing the hard drive

I have a Satellite A215 from issues taken to a store, they said the hard drive was going wrong, they extracted the files it could.
I replaced the concert of 80 hitachi Moose with a new concert of 500 hitachi. When I try to launch the boot disc that came with the computer it says loading windows then goes to a recovery mode and I can't function.

Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you

At this point, it would be interesting to know if the same thing would happen with 100 GB HARD drive. Do you get the such or similar HDD somewhere for testing purposes?

It's that you can't manipulate image recovery and recovery installation procedure. Either it works or not.
To be honest, I'm a little surprised by your upgrade. I can't imagine that a small car can work with stronger engine 10 times. What do you think?

Replacing the battery is cited as A £99, VAT in addition to toshiba - y at - it somewhere cheaper or better size. ?

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Carol

I put t know where is the cheapest place to purchase the battery, but in my opinion, the offers online are the cheapest.
You can see the Toshiba site options and accessories:
    HTTP://EU.COMPUTERS.TOSHIBA-EUROPE.COM/CGI-BIN/TOSHIBACSG/JSP/OPTIONSANDACCESSORIESHOME.DO?SERVICE=EU&ID=ONLINE _ SHOP

Here, you can select your model of laptop, and you will find the compatible battery.
You didn t write about you model exactly but I think that the battery pack (Li-ion, 12 cells, 6450mAh) with the PA3382U-1BRS part number must be compatible. But check before you buy!

In any case, you could Google for that number and I m you will find many offers online.
