Clarification of Task Scheduler options

original title: Task Scheduler

Implemented few Win7/64 tasks, what is the difference below means Admin user,.

Run only when the user is logged
Run whether user is logged on or not, don't store password

Well, I think.  I can help you understand the legs a little more, but I think you're asking for the location of the exe files for specific things you want to do with the Task Scheduler.  I may not know what you are trying to implement and "Diagnosis, Maintenance" is so general that I can't guess.

General - we have talked about this in the first two messages-answers

Triggers, - the most simple relaxation is a timed clickon so a new trigger, set it on a calendar in the dropdown list & the rest is obvious.

Actions - the operating system more simple action to start a program, that's what you would use for the defragmentation example you given above.  Click Start new & select a program from the drop-down list.

Conditions - This is all self-explanatory I think.

Settings - This is all self-explanatory I think.  Allowing to run on demand, for example, allows you to start the task by clicking the Runbutton on the right side of the window of TS - it is useful to test the task when you have set up.

You can find additional info to http://support.microsoft.com and http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Schedule-a-task

Some examples of its use which should help you

Schedule disk cleanup to run regularly

Run a batch file

start a program minimized

I created a bat file I got successfully to run through the Windows Task Scheduler.  Now, I would like to remove the task from the Scheduler.  When I go to Task Scheduler, I see the task, but when I right click on it, no option has come.  I thought I'd see a delete option will appear.

    Thanks for the screenshot.

I see you look at the Panel "indicator of task. You can't manipulate tasks there.

You need to search for and select the real object of the task that you created.

It is very probably saved under the folder "Task Scheduler Library.

(I just created a test with minimal settings scenario and it happened here)

The following command should work also:

  • Task Scheduler task shows as completed successfully, but nothing happened

I have some .bat files I created added to my task scheduler on our server at the fire every day from 05:00.  Tasks run a series of SQL commands and a find and replace the application third for updating a MySQL database that we use for a web application.  SQL event on demand are not an option for us.

When I run the task manually it works fine (I'm an administrator has full permissions), either by double-clicking the .bat file, either by selecting the task in the Task Scheduler task by clicking on 'run '.

Tasks have been reportedly shot every day for more than a week and all history journals say the operation completed successfully, but when I check the MySQL database, that nothing has actually happened.

To add to the confusion, what is happening on 2 3 .bat files that I wrote.  One works perfectly, not.

I have the defined task to "Run if the user is logged in or not", and "Run with the highest privileges" and our server, Windows 2012 R2.

My apologies if I'm missing something obvious, I am a JavaScript/PHP web developer, who was lifted in the server environment and, although most of this is logical on a base level for me, a lot of nuances are lost.

  • Task Scheduler, Win Server 2008 - connected or not 2147942403 error

I created a task scheduler with the Security Option to "run if the user is logged in or not."  But he fails even though I am connected with an error value: 2147942403.  If I change the Sec Opt to "Run only when the user is connected", the task will run flawless.

I am a user (not administrator) on a Windows Server 2008.  The user name & pass are configured correctly.  Is that my Admin has to do to fix this?

  • Task Scheduler could not start. Additional data: error value: 2147943726. What does that mean?

A scheduled task could not start leaving this message: Task Scheduler could not start '\Fence check Rota' task for the user "Alan Laptop\Alan". Additional data: error value: 2147943726.

The task ran on the previous 2 nights without problem Action is: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Excel.exe" / r "C:\Users\Alan\Documents\HSC\Fence Check\Fence check Auto Run.xlsm" and there is nothing wrong with it all the files are where they are supposed to be.

After "the event log online Help" takes me to a page that tells me to convert the code above in a decimal value and search for it on another page. This has error codes in the 0 to 15999 slices. The value I have to 214793726 is obviuosly not an Octal value because it contains the 9 digit and if a decimal value is greater than 15999 and if hexagonal then considerably higher.

Can someone tell me what is a failure?

My answer comes late, but I hope useful for those seeking a response.

As some have said above, changing the password has a role at the origin of this error. \

quickist fix (instead of changing long ms.config of microsoft) is:

in Task Scheduler, click the scheduled task properties > then settings

    in the last option listed:

"If the task is already running, the following rule shall:

Select "stop the existing instance" in the drop-down list.

    Save and exist.

    This should fix it.

We have installed the 9.0 table in our windows 2008 R2 server and Scheduler tasks to send if you find error occurred for the application in it. That's why we created SMTP inside. 5. click on the triggers tab, and then click the new button.

6 to start the task drop-down list, select an event.

Set the filter (gout 4 boxes along the top to the bottom)

Then Options menu - enable Boot Logging will record it at the next startup, until you rerun ProcMon. Try to restart and read the log for file operations failed.

Svchost hosts most of the services, there will be a lot of waste.

After the reboot, tab of the task of Service Manager Appendix a right-click and click go to process. Note the PID. Then add a filter to ProcMon existing filters.

    The nest is to include

Still a lot of waste but. You cannot sort in ProcMon, but you can file - export to Excel, where you can sort by the column of result. If no excel use the menu Filter - Highlite.

    Hello

SFC scan can be run within the operating system or on the WinRE (Windows recovery environment). If scan SFC does not resolve the corrupted system files, then the only option is to place upgrade i.e. repair using Vista DVD installation.

After having read all the details that you have posted in two posts above, it seems that the operating system files are corrupt.
SFC scan details are stored in the following location: %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt
The Sfcdetails.txt file contains details of every time that the System File Checker tool has been run on the computer.

To make leveling up, follow these steps.
    1. close all applications and restart the computer.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD in the DVD drive of the computer.
    3. in the settings window, click install now.
Note: If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
Click on start and type Drive: \setup.exe in the box to start the search.
Note: The placeholder drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.
    4. in the list programs, click Setup.exe.
    5. in the settings window, click install now.
    6. click on connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    7. type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.
    8. click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    9. on which type of installation do you want? screen, click upgrade.
    10. when the installation is complete, restart your computer and try again to install updates.

Note: Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.

Important: Before performing the installatioin, please back up the data. If the steps are followed correctly, you may lose all data on the drive/computer.

I understand that it should be in a 'properties' falling down, but it does not exist on my machine.

    Hello

To resolve this problem, I would propose the following suggestions.

    a. commonly picture of Task Scheduler task is in: C:\Windows\System32\Tasks, please delete related image corrupted in this folder and see if the problem occurs.

    b. remove the registry at the following location-related article.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tasks

    c. Please find the folder associated with the same ID displayed the error message and delete this.

    Reference: Troubleshooting Task Scheduler

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc721846 (WS.10) .aspx

Important:  This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  • Task Scheduler... What are these tasks and that they planned?

Initially, MSE does scan automatically as I had planned that he... .and then there is two days, he stopped. I have switched between the options [run while you are logged in, but not using it]... and makes no diff.

Then... I looked around and stumbled upon Task Scheduler (that I used to twist a lot during my years XP) and was stunned to see 15 tasks scheduled to run on different times and different triggers... indefinitely. I don't know any of them, and I did not had everything, or the other. I noticed that I slowed down when he was running. Then I disabled all.

48 hours later, my PC doesn't seem different (I expect event catastrophic/s)... MSE is still running is not on calendar (which is quite ok with me, because I decided that I would really rather run it when I want).

Question: What are these tasks and why they operate indefinitely?... .and that at the request of their? And why disabling does not seem to matter? MSE is responsible for any of them?

BTW, registration of WMC would prevent Autostart MSE? (Because on the two failed retirements, WMC has arrived to save)

    Hi Coolnewyorker,

Your question on "that them regular '-the answer is Microsoft.

Scheduled tasks, include the restoration of the system, Defragmenter to Windows, Windows troubleshooting, Windows Customer Experience. You will also find tasks to check the health of your PC. It's to name a few.

With regard to disabling them does not make any difference, you might find that not much, if anything, is actually scheduled for work when you really are on your PC. In many cases, most schedules run at about 02:00 or, in the case of everything Microsoft has planned on my machine, it does not at all simply because my system is stopped when the majority of demand is demand - or at least it used to be. Systematically, I went through them and changed the time when I was online so that information to Microsoft are downloaded - for example files that are created when the PC crashes etc.

About MSE, as most of the applications that run on a schedule, there is a strong dependence on the PC being idle for many minutes before the start of the schedule. If you are running another program, such as WMC in record, the system is not idle, it's registration; so, Yes, WMC record could affect the operation of MSE.
